@SatoriHaddad Megami Tensei 1 and 2 (First a novel and then turned into a game) back in the early 90's (Super Nintendo Era) happened. Then, a bunch of spin-off series all 'different' universes existed as a result of both games. Think of 'Shin Megami Tensei' as a Multi-verse that coexists with each other. Shin Megami Tensei 1, 2 (first two never came to america), 3 (Nocturne), and 4 (Strange Journey) are part of the first sequel. Persona is an 'alternate universe' of that series. Very confusing

"Lacking content" my ass. The original intro song is horrible.  It's trash. Changing out a subpar content for something better isn't what I'd call editing, or taking away content.

If anything the song enhanced and fit with the intro better than that shitty Engrish crap. The Japanese were once good at making games, but nowadays not so much. DDS is an excellent game in spite of the shitty state of Japanese game development and the crappy intro.

I cannot name one Japanese game I've bought in the last several months, going over a year. They're horrible. Don't get DDS without DDS2. They're essentially two halves of one game. They're both fairly short (30ish hours?). Nocturne is about 50 hours long, longer depending on which ending you want. I just finished Nocturne and absolutely LOVED it.

Best thing to do is get all 3 :)

Um in this one you kind of play as the persona instead of summoning it, Like nocturne.

But you only get three people on the field but you control all of them. Unlike p3.

Digital devil saga is about 40 to 50$ while number two is about 10 to 15$

Just...DDS2 is kinda rarer....Also Nocturne if you havent played it, Is realy awesome and definately worth checking into.

persona you summon them, depends on which version of persona you have 3 or 4. in this game you transform. but in persona you have multiple personas to your choosing. the games have a huge difference to eachother. the only thing the same is the enemies are some of the personas in persona 3 and 4. but dds is harder than persona

well i have persona 3 and 4 and i watched all of the masterLL's videos of DDR, but the difference is that persona, you can't transform instead, it's like your buddy thats with you. the main character of persona has multiple personas you can have except their friends because the main character is special. persona also is just dungeons and pathways. ddr is like exploring everywhere while persona is just dungeons as i said and also high school since in persona, no one in public knows about them.

I remember watching TechTV years ago and this was on Cinematech. I thought "Damn, what an awesome looking RPG!" It was my first Megaten game, and it's still one of my favorites. Great characters, music, and design. Just make sure to sell your Cells when the Solar Noise is full so you can get the most macca. :)

tip: Field hunt: under time limit, keep on slicing purple things until u find a Ara Mitama, hit it and engaged in a battle. Ara Mitamas are weak against ice, if one is frightened use the hunt skill (devour , comsume) to gain a huge atma points to master matamaga easily so u can learn new skills.

Also make sure u party members have AP divide auto skill so they all gain Atma points and have mutual karma auto skill so they level up without being in battle.

To find Field Hunt u have to go to a certain area on every dungeon.

To get an enemy frightened, u have to hit it's weakness, making hunt skills more effective(gives more damage) when frightened.

Well AP Divide and Mutual Karma takes time to obtain those skills and those will be handy for non-reserves(that are not choosed to be in battle).

Tips:

1) Yes to Magic. Elemental Spells can be boosted and amped, so they do more damage. As an example, final boss, Heat (specs Str) was doing 600 damage Executioner, single target. Gale (specs balanced) was doing 700 damage with a Maziodyne, all target.

2) Devour is keyed to Vitality, so don't neglect it.

3) Buy only what you need, don't rely on too many items. Money is rare and important that you need to save as much as you get.

4) Get Ingest Mana, then Chakra Walk as soon as you see them.

5) Every party member should know at least two Ma~ spells for the elements and corresponding boosts/amps, if possible. This will become a little hard towards the end of the game, but it's a good goal.

6) You will grind. Get used to it.

7) Carry Dis-Aches and/or learn Iron Stomach quickly. Ache is horribly ridiculously annoying, but Iron Stomach may not be worth a Skill Slot.

Anyway, it's been a while since I played DDS, so my tips may be a little outdated. It's a fun game though ^^.

8) When choosing an element a character should learn, try to learn an element that contains that character's weakness. For example, Serph is weak to Fire, so Serph should learn Fire Mantras. Towards the end of the games, Elemental Mantras will give a corresponding Resist, which will allow you to negate a character's weakness. Very important on later bosses.

1) It's your call, but I find it easier to take 2 Magic, 1 Vit per level, on occasion leveling up 2 Vit, 1 Magic. It's more of a style thing though.

2) Devour (and Hunt skills) deal damage based on Vitality, not Strength like other Physicals.

8) Mantra points are actually pretty plentiful if you spend a little time grinding and devouring as many targets as possible. What's more limiting is the amount of money, but it's not too bad for each character to specialize in two elements at least. (Default Element + Opposite Element). If you're willing to grind, you can potentially level up several elements worth of mantras (for example, Gale had Maziodyne, Maragidyne, Mazandyne, and the final Almighty mantras without much work).
