Yes there are poles there, as I mentioned, That are designed with this in mind, which is why there covered with a barrier to reduce risk of damage from hard impacts. How is a vertical pole going to break a leg? A cart that is made of metal, with a lot of weight on it, that is very low, is incredibly dangerous for these type of impacts. Thats why his leg broke backwards as violently as it did.

How is a vertical pole going to break a leg? A cart that is made of metal, with a lot of weight on it, that is very low, is incredibly dangerous for these type of impacts. Yeah, maybe the carts weren't suppose to be there, but what about the field posts? I'm guessing it would hurt if a Houston player would have ran into one of those too. Bottom line is that when running in the short end of the field, keep an eye on your surroundings.

Thats why theres grass and the poles have padding around them to protect players from impact, someone was a fucking moron for leaving them there, and probably ruined his career for it, I agree it was out the back of the endzone, but real athletes get so focused they try to make a play, if people didnt try shit like that you wouldnt ever see great plays, bottom line carts were in a dangerous spot, I bet they didnt put that shit in marshalls endzone

A little FYI to some of you talkers. I happen to be in the drumline at marshall and know that everything the band director does is ran through ahletics. They tell him to do something and he has to follow those things called DIRECTIONS! So no he shouldn't be fired, its up to marshall athletics.

I'm in the band, and honestly those carts are there all the time. There's no where else to put them, and it was an honest mistake. If he'd run into football equipment that's on the sidelines, no one would have said a word. It's a terrible thing to have happen, but accidents DO happen.
