  • What camera is this?

  • @Diffrentjamsith Canon Vixia HG20 - Kat

  • I love my Nespresso. Easy to use, no mess no fuss. If I want awesome coffee I'm going to my cafe rather than shelling out $1000s for a machine at home.

  • @amfomy Sounds like a great compromise :) - Kat

  • 179 on Nespresso. What should the temperature be? 200?

    regards!

  • @fabulmanxxx 195F - 205F is general range for coffee extraction...assuming this is calibrated differently given the different tech for the capsules. - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear mmmmm :-( too bad... my Pavoni gets good coffee at 150 at much!

  • Thanks Kat, you're probably right for the newer Nespresso machines, but the ancient one I have is horrible. Maybe that is why I over rated Starbucks :). I am really excited about the Cellini. Do you think paring this up with a Vario is enough to pull a 10? I chose Vario based on size, price and ability to do drip for my technivorm. I am in southern CA but wanted to give you my business since it was your videos that helped me the most, but what if I need service during the 24 months? - Dennis

  • @dlevens22 The Vario is a great pair with this, if you want to stick with stepped, it's the best choice in my opinion. The warranty service/repair is supported directly by us, so you would work with our techs to troubleshoot/resolve over the phone if possible, and if not you'd ship to us for service. After the warranty you may be able to find someone more local to you that repairs these as needed. - Kat

  • I have a nespresso c190 and saying it gets the job done is being too kind. I have been researching for a month now on a real machine and your videos have played a huge role in helping me decide. I want to get the rocket cellini and baratza vario combo. But your cellini is still out of stock? How much longer till they come in?

On a scale from 1 to 10 and assuming the nespresso is like a 2 and Starbucks is like a 7 where would you rate the shots you can pull from a Cellini?

    -Dennis

  • @dlevens22 Now I think you're being too kind to Starbucks! And I do believe that this gets the job done, for what it is. I would put Nespresso at a 3 and Starbucks at a 4, personally; and you have the potential to pull a 10 shot off the Cellini, if you pair it with the right grinder and give yourself the time to practice, etc. Our shipment is coming in from Milan this afternoon so they should be ready to roll out soon. Let me know if you have any questions - thanks! - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear I get frustrated when people buy machines like this and call it the best coffee possible, or "really good"...there needs to be more transparency with espresso quality.

  • @renix It's so subjective though; there are machines that produce coffee I detest, and we have customers who love them. I think it's more important to explain what the possibilities are and then folks can decide whether or not they want to sign up for them. And I also suspect that many folks haven't tasted a really amazing shot and so it works for them ;) - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Yes, espresso ignorance is is espresso bliss. Also, the mind knows not what the stomach wants as we learned from Howard Moskowitz.

  • @renix Haha :D - Kat

  • Greetings from germany. Do you lime those machines, I mean... is that a real thing for a coffee-enthusiast? I dont think so.

Oh Kat - I know how you look, and not just your hands! ;-)) *smile* Lovely greetings!

  • @Dantius2009 I think it's a great machine for folks into convenience over flavor; it gets the job done but isn't the same quality as a traditional espresso. Are you stalking me online, Dantius? I hope knowing how I look doesn't ruin the mystery for you :) - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Sorry, it was not really "stalking", I was just informing me about Seattle Coffee Gear and I saw your name and ... I could not resist, ... and those searching machines in the internet make it easy... it was this "mystery" about you I think... Please, do not misunderstand it. :-(

  • @Dantius2009 No worries - I seriously don't know why no one has searched Google images before; I have been online since '93 and things on the Internet never die :D - Kat

  • I have a Delonghi Latissima, I love it and its easy and no need for a grinder, knockbox, all the mess of grinds everywhere, its great if you arent a coffee purist

  • @TheTraumaFactor How is your milk temp on it? We have had some reports that it is not hot enough but we haven't done any testing ourselves. We're going to order one it to do so, though. - Kat

  • Do these Nespresso thingys have any inherit problems or is buying a used one a safe(ish) investment? Do you get them returned a lot?

  • @WarmProp We don't really know about their problems because we don't repair them and any defective models that are returned to us go straight back to them...I don't think there are a lot of issues, but I don't know, honestly. We don't get a lot of returns for the machine itself; most Nespresso returns are the aeroccinos because the milk isn't hot enough for people's taste, but that's the nature of auto frothing. - Kat

  • AND a red silvia!? you guys have all the cool toys

  • @Higgins2001 It's pleather! That one is for sale, actually, so you can get that toy if you want it :) -Kat

  • do I still see a special race edition giotto in the background?

  • @Higgins2001 Yep - we have one left that we joke is Gail's retirement fund; we may auction it off for her elderly care in the future ;) - Kat
