This is reli bad! You have the ideas but i think u need to learn how to beat match properly and how to use ableton, some of the mixing is good but ther is no adjustment to get it in beat, ther is no need for the laptop u cud easily do it with a decent pair of cdjs and the kid on the decks needs to stop flicking his wrists wen he uses effects thers just no point, i think more practice is needed and iys either one r the uther decks r laptop.
Yea they certainly look cool, the problem is most sites/places I go have absolute no user reviews or anything on them, but I guess that's kind of a red flag there.
The only thing they're good for is lighting up cool and basically being a beefed up CD player, I kind of regret buying my set.
That buzzing sound is coming from your computer. The buzzing sound is occurring by a ground loop. You can buy a thing called a Ground Loop Isolator to stop it.
I currently use Ableton Live - and yeah - its fucking awesome - Can literally do everything! However I want to learn about decks and how to use them - Are these turntables in your opinion good for a budget beginner?
i like it! u should use more filters tho, someone else mentioned the korg kaoss pads if u want real live fx, failing that get an allen n heath xone mixer with the cut n res built in to get a bit more fluent in your track fades etc
Just think like you're making a ten minute song, not a ten minute mix. Get out of the mind set of mix, get into the mind set theatrics. Add drama to a set, much like you did with the Justice tempo build I saw in a previous video. Make THE DRAMA!
Still a little out. But an improvement.... Music works in bars remember guys. 4,812,16... Every 16 beats the music changes. Stick to this rule and you won't go far wrong. And get a monitor. U'll hear it probably alot better. Good luck!.!.!
Gear... Personally... I can mix with anything... I've use software to mix in from CDs etc and back out onto CDs. I can mix on turntables and I can do software mixing too... You don't have to use the beatmatch button which doesn't always work.
At the end of the day.. I spent alot of money for my CDJ1000 MK3s and DJM600s adn I'm very happy with them, I LOVE mixing on them, but it all comes down to the fact of money. Overall I just love music and mixing. So use whatever gear you enjoy.
Dont mind DJSEvEN he has nothin better to do than to give people shit about there mixs. So what if ur using a pc go ahead there no rules saying u cant use 1. So what if u cant spell BEATMATCH there no dj spell test if u win the tenminmix.
as of now i personally use a computer for live recording, but that's about to change, gonna buy me a real recording studio / Burner WOW u got more money than the rest of us well go buy some vinly turntables assmonkey.
thank you. finally some a good comment. i totally agree. i think about it like this, maybe 25% of the crowd is going to know what gear you are using and the other 75% dont care so i say use what ever gear you want. as long as the mixing is good.
Well your right, and if you can mix on True tables i take my hat of.
But what bothers me is that many so called dj's don't let the artist shine throuh, the remix and shit and it sound AWFUL, either with mega chopped beats / samples, tooo much fx and so forth, 2nd many cant even spell BEATMATCH, so they get a pc that does that for them.
listen to some older funky, x or mastermix and you'll hear what i mean, give the artists some credis and let them be proud of your work
im sorry but in my opinion those who can really call himselfs "dj's", are the ones who use analog equipment, because now, with the technology even a kid could mix a track. just listen these two. this kid thinks that mixing is only tie two beats cutting the bass frequencies of one of them. but real mixing is not like this. thats why i think this set is crappy. because the changes are too marked, these two are losing the real key to mix tracks. thats the only thing have to say about this. cheers
I agree with the fact that a real dj can mix on vynl or cd.mp3etc. I can do all that...but for real you gotta get past that oldschool mentality.Sure cd players and laptops make it easier for people who may not have too much talent but so did direct drive turntables+10/ -10% pitch adust even bpm counters on analogue turntables The point is these kids are tryin to put up a mix for people to enjoy and all your doing is putting their efforts down. So what if they are not the bestthey will get better
...and this all came from someone who uses FRUITY LOOPS to produce beats....bro pick ur battles man..if you're gonna make fun of some kids for using shotty equipment dont use the biggest joke production software there is.
sorry i dont use fruity loops to program, but my little brother does.. he watch tutorial videos and he actually use them as a base, and he's only twelve. i DO also use computers and softwares to produce, i've made tracks for an art movie called "BEYOND ME". and you dont know how hard i try o make my little brother uses real software and equipment, because in his age the kids will absorb everything. but he replies that FL is more fun.. but he is a kid.. of course it has to be fun.. see my point?
Hey, no problem. I don't think it matters what gear you use these days. This mix would be next to impossible on vinyl, with the looping & sampling, so yeah, we did it with computer and cdj. And for the record, i'm also a vinyl dj. I just put up a vinyl mix, check it out (and it's got some daft punk!)
and you are right.. i think i didnt reailze that i was putting these kids efforts down, is only that im so estrict with the sound... and in certan way they remind me my little brother, only because his job at the time of play is minimum, doesnt mean that they have no passion for doing it... cheers
I agree somewhat, but i believe they will learn later, after they learn to do this well they'll go onto more complex mixing, thats what I did... Im only 15 but when I started I was doin the same mix, So ok its not a great mix but its a good start guys!
finaly sum1 else who knows what proper mixing is,ANALOG.If u wana see sum proper mixin check out my channel or watch the techno sessions vid in the b2b comp.cheers
Not all people can afford to buy a gud gear... What If U have Allen & Heath and U Play Shit On it.. I'd rather choose this and spin some gud records...
Well first, both of us can use turntables and cdj's. And of course people couldn't do the same stuff with tables as with abelton, there compleatly diffrent technology from diffrent times. and technology is changing, which is allowing DJ's do more for the audience, which is what it's relally all about. no one in the crowd is gonna give a damn what your mixing on, as long as it sounds good.
Again, i'm wondering how we did this. It's a perfectly decent mix tributing daft punk cause we love them. The last couple of comments have been pretty negative, and in compleate honesty if your series, what needs to change for us to not disgrace and be losers. God bring back vinyl. Real DJ's use Vinyl. All this technology shit, its doing all the mixing for you. do the same mix with the vinyl then i 'll give you 5 stars
also with ableton i can be way more creative, like doing mash-ups and remixes on the fly without worrying about beatmatching. and all it comes down to is if the crowd is enjoying themselves.

beat maching/tempo is a bit off in the first mix, then i stop listening.
You should experiment with the eqs etc etc and also get a dc/ac inverter to stop the hissing from your laptop charger.

I agree wtih TomTom-very easy to detect when you switch.
Especially ~3:00 when you've got HBFS going with Around the World, that intro could be cut shorter to go better with ATW.
