Ive always focused on the kickass Funk rhythm guitar playing, which has this improvisational feel, like its just based on feel and not a repeating motif.

I think the guitarist recorded this part while the whole recording was slowed down THEN the final recording sped up to normal speed giving that guitar part a sped up quality thats just INSANELY FUNKY!
