For the dog it's soft playing, for the cat it's play too because she doesn't run when she can but she hisses too which is seriously bad language and most cats don't do that when it's soft play. I don't know if kitty was declawed ( a barbaric custom) because cats can choose to use only the brushes with a friend. Anyway, neither animal was hurt obviously. The only thing that bothers me is the hissing, but maybe she just talks that way. Some do.
