I found the book interesting, children of God, Pop seen as a youthful person, Todd seen fighting with a sword or bow and arrow.
I see this as when we die, the ones who believe in Jesus will go to heaven and emerge as their youthful age "the Children". The ones who will fight will be the faithful leaders, the ones who preached the word on earth.
Believe what you want to believe in, when your time comes and generally it's not a quick death you'll have plenty of time to ponder your faith.
I remember reading something in the bible where the people in heaven can see the people being tormented in hell, so this one person begged Jesus to send him back so he could warn his loved ones that heaven and hell are real and Jesus is indeed who he claimed to be, the savior.
Jesus responded something to the effect of, if they didn't believe me they won't believe you.
This thread confirms that Jesus had it exactly right, those who believe Jesus believe this kid, and those who don't, don't.

He never went to heaven, what REALLY happened is that oxygen was unable to reach his brain. Whenever your brain doesn't get any, or enough, oxygen to operate; you will began to hallucinate. Quite like dreaming, but different in many ways.
This is why some hang themselves to get high, why people sniff paint, and why this kid (who has the same name as me) says he went to heaven. It wasn't heaven, it was his mind. Just read the book yourself, it's full of bullshit.

I wanted to find the footage of this, because after reading the book, it changed my perspective on a lot of things. On what it means to be a Christian, and so much more.
I have just finished this book. My question is where are the video's of Coulton telling these stories originally? I see video's of Coulton , by the family, when he was 3 years old. I find it hard to imagine that you wouldn't film your 4 year old telling these amazing stories, especially since Mom used her video camera before taking family pic's. As stressed in the book, they had some monetary problems!
If you're an atheist the infinite regression thing applies to you because if you believe in a multiverse or parallel universes, then where did those come from? Is there a omniverse? I think so and that is heaven, the kingdom of god.
One could argue that God and science can co-exist. God never said science is false, but you can only trace things so far back with Science and then its all just theory and speculation one way or the other.
Additionally I find it amusing that people are so quickly defensive about any religious content. Why does everybody feel the need to try and disprove something like this? They are clearly not trying to deceive people.

Evolution by natural selection is a fact, and it is THE ONLY explanation of complex living organisms and diversity in species. The inverse can be explained without the need for a Creator or Grand Designer. If you would take a look at the evidence that support these so-called "claims" then I believe you may take on a different perspective. God is a poor explanation.

I think there is a mutual understanding that we do not "exactly" know how the universe began, but we have a great deal that we do understand, and I think as time passes, we will eventually come very close to understanding it in it's completeness. If you do believe in a god, then comes the question of Where did God come from? And from this we see infinite regression.

It is the utmost cynicism that brings people to think that fame and money are motivating factors for people like the burpos. Put yourself into the positions they had to navigate. Their child was dying. And more importantly, put aside your narrow-mindedness and believe in something for once. Read the book. Find some faith. Hopefully one day we can all have this experience of meeting Christ face to face.
Colton's dad will pay for exploiting his son, children want nothing more than to please their parents. Watch all the interviews, Colton says angels have wings and Jesus has blue eyes among other things that go against the biblical account, please don't give these child exploiters your money!

I've thought about this some more. The meeting of Jesus and god are the surreal experiences. The out of body experience could be in fact real. Why do I say that? Because the human body is made up of particles from the big bang essentially. According to physics, all forms of energy whether it's chemical, electrical, biological, etc. is always conserved. Essentially you become one with the force according to Star Wars philosophy. I still am an atheist to all personal gods.
Honestly this book touched my heart! I prayed and prAyed after reading this book to just allow us to reach out to the nonbelievers. God really touched this family and this little boy especially but this book touches everyone who reads it! I want you guys to know that I am praying for you! cool story... But if you believe in the bible, you believe that there is no heaven right now. We can not go to heaven until judgement day, which has not happened yet. So this kid could not have been judged and allowed into heaven yet, nor could any of the people he saw there.
Why do all religious people forget this? Our dead relatives cannot watch over us or look down on us, they will not be allowed into heaven until judgement day. So nobody will beat anyone else to heaven.

What's also amazing is that another younger child (Akiane) saw Jesus and painted him and when these two children met they both agreed that's what Jesus looked like. This is hard for atheist to accept - JESUS - but I would ask them - What if it was all true?
Jesus said that if they won't believe Moses & the scriptures, neither will they believe if someone returns from the dead to warn them. But we can rejoice, knowing this is true and God is faithful. Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life, whoever believes in me, even though he dies, he will live.

Awesome story. Don't listen to the trolls and the haters who say this isn't for real and that Colton is lying. Other people have had experiences that are similar in nature. The vividness of Colton's descriptions is compelling, and I for one believe them.

This is the idea of transpermia. Dawkings was just making an exaggerated example of what others have said. He doesn't believe that. Get your facts straight. I'm still waiting on you to provide me with evidence that your god exists.

@JoEEll2233 I understand where you're coming from, but I dont consider my beliefs based on faith, but on reason and evidence. I think there is a mutual understanding that we do not "exactly" know how the universe began, but we have a great deal that we do understand, and I think as time passes, we will eventually come very close to understanding it in it's completeness. If you do believe in a god, then comes the question of Where did God come from? And from this we see infinite regression.

Thousands of years ago people thought waves in the oceans, rainstorms, catastrophes, rainbows, and stars were all evidence that a god was involved. There is quite a few people who have seen Heaven. and they are all pretty much the same. hmm...what does that tell you? God and Heaven are very real. Idk why people wouldn't believe. Idk if they think they are too smart for religion or what, but there is nothing wrong with having faith in something you can't physically see. That's the point. It is the utmost cynicism that brings people to think that fame and money are motivating factors for people like the burpos. Put yourself into the positions they had to navigate. Their child was dying. And more importantly, put aside your narrow-mindedness and believe in something for once. Read the book. Find some faith. I've thought about this some more. The meeting of Jesus and god are the surreal experiences. The out of body experience could be in fact real. Why do I say that? Because the human body is made up of particles from the big bang essentially. According to physics, all forms of energy whether it's chemical, electrical, biological, etc. is always conserved. Essentially you become one with the force according to Star Wars philosophy. I still am an atheist to all personal gods.

cool story... But if you believe in the bible, you believe that there is no heaven right now. We can not go to heaven until judgement day, which has not happened yet. So this kid could not have been judged and allowed into heaven yet, nor could any of the people he saw there.
Why do all religious people forget this? Our dead relatives cannot watch over us or look down on us, they will not be allowed into heaven until judgement day. So nobody will beat anyone else to heaven.

I believe this to be true! And it's amazing! What's also amazing is that another younger child (Akiane) saw Jesus and painted him and when these two children met they both agreed that's what Jesus looked like. This is hard for atheist to accept - JESUS - but I would ask them - What if it was all true?

I am sure these folks mean well but coming from a family where religious indoctrination was a part of daily life means the kid was clearly predisposed to this type of fantasy. And I can prove it. Hell is just as real as Heaven. I just fineshed reading the book about this kid and I can assure you that he was most defenetly not coached. Nor did they believe in a devil. So if you want to have this debate, explain to me how the Jews were wrong if hell and the devil do indeed exist. Sweet story but no one has entered into Heaven and "came back." It is an ETERNAL reward for the Just.
It is a bazaar story. Heaven sounds pretty boring based on this kids story if you ask me. Sounds like a back yard family barbecue.

This is a wonderful testimony, from a child. It's just like the Lord to use a small child for eye opener to the world. I have heard stories of Heaven and Hell experiences.
I would rather have a Heavenly experience than a Hell one.

The Boy has been raised in a church environment, so he has been told Bible Stories, etc., up until the near death experience... He wasn't totally ignorant of hearing about God , Jesus, etc.. Those who choose not to believe, that's your choice. He isn't the first person to have a near death experience, and most people describe similar things. I believe him.
