  • Sounds like music you will use in a freaky, carnival-like movie!

  • Gives me the chills! I need to watch the movie again.

  • this is so good

  • They ought to play this at 6 flags for Fright Fest on the carousel ride, fits the attraction perfectly.

  • The DVD extras include an alternate soundtrack that Ridley Scott wanted to use instead of Tangerine Dream's! I like Tangerine Dream score much better, especially in this scene.

  • Is going to watch this as a 80's movie marathon going on at my house for new years today!! I LOVE this song I wish there was more and it was longer!! I would so waltz to this!!

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SCENE FOR THIS, JESUS FUCK YOUTUBE

  • @drkdrgns Let me know when you find it, I've been searching for ages.

  • I could listen to this in a dark dungeon and feel mystified in some light of brilliance by the mere spectacle Tangerine Dream exeplified and personifies in their music. Glad I grew up with their greatest works in the 80's with cinema that had more originality coupled with great scores! Just amazing what real talent they are.

  • There will never be a better devil.

  • pennywise vs the devil

  • @MrDxnwo316 Except possibly Viggo Mortensen as Lucifer in "Prophecy".

  • The Devil was born to play Tim Curry in this movie.

  • few typos in there just so folks know, i see them NOW...sorry

  • i enjoyed multiple copies of this cassette as a teenager and young twenty?...wore them all out playing them so much..no i am stuck in Utah where there is no such thing ever told as LEGEND...would love to have another copy, this time a READ CD!..would also like to hear the banned version of the soundtrack...i used to dream of that unicorn...stood straight up in the theatre at age 13 when the horn got pulled and screamed NOOOOOOOOO!!!...that movie holds my heart

  • As a little girl I used to prance around and dance to this music. It speaks ENCHANTMENT

  • so.. it just stops dead @ 2:09?

  • they had the most coolest unicorn............EVER MADE!

  • the virgininal transformation involving sin..... good metaphor this was.... considering I was a horney teen when I saw it but this captivated me

  • aw, i've just this minute finished watching the movie and i'm gutted this music is'nt in it. I have the region 2 uk copy and was hoping this was in it.

  • You have made my day! I have been on the hunt for this for forever!

  • This song makes me wish I had a living dress, as seen in the movie, to dance around with.

  • Best part of the whole movie. I loved the entire concept of this scene and the music was fantastic. Thanks for the upload.

  • i want see this movie but my english is quiet not very well XD i think theres no german translate version? i also find no stream can someone help?

  • Mia Sara was sexy awesome in this flick.

  • This is my favourite part in the whole movie, when she changes from innocent to evil :D

  • i got up an danced to this

  • Tim Curry Is Like A Chuck Norris

  • Who would come to this if they don't like it?

    Honestly people, grow a brain.

    =/

  • For those of you that want the entire score, meaning every little piece of music heard in the film by Tangerine Dream, you must go to iofferdotcom. A person sells whats left of the cds there. I bought one but it was extremely expensive. But it's worth it. There are 25 or more tracks on it, don't remember but I lucked out finding one. I also found the soundtrack to Boxing Helena but you won't find that anywhere now.

  • As much as I love this soundtrack to the American film version of "Legend", I love the "Directors Cut" much better. The extended scenes add more to the story. Jerry Goldsmith (Oscar winner for "The Omen"), did a more orchestral soundtrack than Tangerine Dream. and when watching this scene with each different score, I must say the Tangerine Dream wins hands down...Not to take away anything from Jerry Goldsmith that is.

  • Funny thing is, out of the entire move and soundtrack, I find this piece to be the most beautiful of them all.

  • Those 5 people who pressed the dislike button clearly don't know how to dance.

  • why dont they make movies like this anymore?

  • @KITCATNOS

Seriously dude why don't they make movies like this anymore plus this movie was unfinished due to the fact that they just disregard the goblins Blix and Pox after they capture the last surviving unicorn.

  • I don´t know. I, personally, prefer the Goldsmith - score by far. I liked some of the tangerine dream - stuff in general, like "Sorcerer", but when it comes to fantasy epics, for me it somehow has to be someone like Goldsmith, Poledouris or Horner.

  • I love the directors cut, but this track from Tangerine Dream, I cannot watch the scene with any other music, it fits perfectly to the movements, the darkness and the sensuality. A surreal and brilliant piece.

  • I just finished watching the director's cut with the original european soundtrack and I agree with you. The American version with Tangerine Dream is much more dark and almost surreal. The other soundtrack sounds like most sword and sorcerer movies now.

  • I cannot believe this movie is rated PG. Tim Curry's Prince of Darkness character is not what little kids need to be seeing. Especially when he bursts out of the mirror, destorying Lily's reflection. OMG....

  • It's weird how I was kinda scared of the entire movie and its theme but for some odd reason this part in the movie made me feel better.

  • it also gives me an idea for a strip dance (hey here me out), with the proper costume and lighting effects u could really make this a sad yet erotic dance, I mean u could really make the audience feel the "aching" of the heart of the dancer perhaps or even her death maybe...

  • @SailorSexyDork You're right the song is erotic in nature...if you really listen to it.

  • @MzMeanE glad im not the only one to notice :), I could so have with this song with stuff

  • This scene has always been one of my favorites of all time because of this beautiful music. It makes me feel as if I'm also being seduced by the darkness -- it's so haunting and enchanting. I can't help but sway to it's rhythm as Lily dances with the dress. I stopped watching the movie with Goldsmith's score as soon as this scene came up. The feeling of wonder was gone, and all that was left was music telling me flat out that the dress was evil. There was no seduction.

  • @UnsortedSeeds You are so right! Creepy...

  • i saw a post on anouther video about a mp3 converter for youtube videos, any know what i mean? or how it works, i been tryin to load this song an others from the soundtrack to my cell, an cant find it

  • @closeintime I use YouTube to mp3 converter all the time you just copy and paste the link in the box and keep clicking for download.

  • It's the most haunting waltz I've ever encountered.

It's taken me years to decode it in my mind.

listening to it again today has helped me get a little bit better understanding of it.

I still don't have a musical response for it.

I could talk back using the same framework but the grammar and words would be different.

  • confound this song! its so good it makes me mad!

  • @TheVideoObsession it gives me ideas for a dance to it or maybe ice skating to it IF done right :)

  • Pretty good movie, "Darkeness" was a pretty wicked character.

  • Jerry Goldsmith's score was too.. old. This is more.. frolic-like and more.. hmm.. magic-y. For lack of a better term. I grew up on this score.. so.. needless to say when I heard Jerry Goldsmith's, I was so down.

  • they ruined the film with the new score. The original music was sooooooo powerful and contributed sooooooooo much to the beauty of a great flick. Hollywood just doesn't know when to leave things alone. In their greedy quest for more money and wealth they ruin value. May they roast in hell. lol.

  • @SpiderHacksaw

What do you mean with the new score, the Goldsmith - score or the Tangerine Dream - score? (I don´t know which one came out first)

  • @Lennyfred Goldsmith's soundtrack is the original Tangerine Dream was only the U.S. release of the film (Legend was overseas in 1985 with Goldsmith's score and 1986 in the States with TD's score)

  • Tim curry was born to play the devil in this movie. :)

  • @mikey420100 Don't you know me, boy?

The voice of the Lord of Darkness was one of the best voices for any villain ever, almost as good as Tony Jay's.

  • @mikey420100 ahem... lord of darkness... :D

  • @Robertahausen hahaha nice one bro

  • @mikey420100 Just because he has horns doesn't mean he is the Devil... He is a representation of darkness and evil, just like the unicorns are of good and puffy clouds. Get your bible out of my movie.. lol

  • @tiggz1977 HAHaha i dont even think there is a GOd or Devil, so what you need to do is eat a dick for dinner. And whatever you dont finnish heat up for breakfast the next morning. :O :P :) :() OLO

  • @mikey420100 If you don't think or don't know ? ,either case my friend you need to get out more ,perhaps youj will take notice of both .

  • @tiggz1977 Where in the Bible does it say the devil has horns ?

  • @messanicgentile oyi. I just like the song.. let it go people geeze. Where in the bible does it say they have unicorns? Elves? Fairies? (and if you even bring up gay Ill cyber smack you lol)... lol Im just tired of people associating everything about the Christian "god and the devil " battle all the time. When this movie is not even close to this, it is far deeper then just god and the devil.

  • @tiggz1977 I like the song as well .It one of the most underrated movie scores I know of .There more to mythology then we know today .There is deer who have a deformed horn just like a unicorn .I think during the middle ages people saw that and mistook it as another species all together and over time legends sprung up about it .As far as fairies go I have to do more research on it .I don't know of too many people associating anything esp anything good with God .Which to me is depressing .

  • @messanicgentile I wish this song was longer. Im going to go to the tangerine dreams website and ask if they can redo it and make it longer or something cause I really love the simplicity of the "oomm pah pah" and a waltz mix and the other deep vibrations in it could so be expanded on, I figured Id at least ask them first .. if not ill cut and make my own mp3 :-)

  • @tiggz1977 I do too ,perhaps some one could mix it with some of the tracks off of braveheart or kill bill scores .

  • @tiggz1977 As far as the Devil is concern he suppose to be one of the most beautiful of God creation .He let his beauty get to his head and he lead a revolt against God and lost and was thrown out of heaven .Lucifer was one of the chief angels up there with Michael and Gabriel .

  • @messanicgentile That is if you believe in that....

  • @tiggz1977 I first believed it and over the years through trial and error I found them to be true .for the most part I just read scriptures and pray and read on other things ..I wish I could go to church but most people in the church are more tolerable to gays and athiests then people like me .Perhaps I should start my church for folks like me .

  • I love this movie

  • This is a really creepy film - and I was in my teens when I saw it. The whole atmosphere in it is very dark/adult, even in the non overtly scary parts.

  • it sounds like being on a carousel...

  • OMG OMG!! I thought I was goin nuts! All The Dance music was that new score and I was like.. "this ain't right? I don't remember it sounding like that at all!" THIS is the music I remember. Thank you so much for posting it. :)

  • Have to agree. This song was way better for the scene than the score they used in the director's cut.

  • @Ratman84 Yes!! <3 You would not believe how hard it is to find the not directors cut!

  • I agree this music makes the scene and was the first one I saw as a kid. It's my favourite scene;the music has an old european sound. When I saw the other version I couldnt believe this track was missing; the scene didn't have half the impact.

  • I was looking everywhere for this thank you for placing it here. I love it.

  • I loved this movie the dancing scene was absolutely beautiful i used to watch it all mesmerized as a child.. i simply couldn't get enough and Darkness... omg soo sexy :P

  • I loved this music in Legend Mia Sara looked beautiful in that black dress! I loved that scene but Tim Curry as darkness scared me so much in that film!

  • @Rukia212002 You were scared because Mr. Curry played the role so well. Darkness is horrific and twisted to see, but oh so seductive with honeyed words and subtle praise and a dulcet charming perversion. le sigh...

  • This one has a seductive evil draw to it the other just doesn't have

  • looks like the devil in tales from the hood

  • One of the best parts of the movie happens to this GORGEOUS music. This is my favorite part of the movie, thank-you for putting this up for all to enjoy! : )

  • This is a gorgeous mid-waltz.... just wish it was a little longer

  • I have both sound tracks they work well with both different versions of the fim.

Princess lilly seems to charm everyone in the original directors cut a dark fairy tale made by a talented director mr Scott from the North East

  • love this song!

  • anyone know the start song for the film .. its remix was GREAT but i cant think of the name, thanks :)

  • Anyone know what type of Dance could be used for this? A Waltz I was thinking but I may be wrong

  • @Scaash your not wrong a waltz is perfect for this song

  • Seriously, what person wouldn't be seduced by this music? Just listening to it makes me feel...well, dark. More powerful. And it makes me want to dance. That's what so hypnotically amazing about this score. I personally adored it more than the other, even as a child. And the waltz scene was always my favorite in Legend.

  • Tim Curry was the sex in this movie!

  • beautiful...

  • I love this film so much. I lived in a actual demonically possessed house when my family bought this film so whenever I see this film or hear it's music, I think about that house. So many creepy memories.

  • @JokerNJester619 "demonically possessed house"? WTF? Man, I would have loved to have been your older brother or sister!

  • sexy ass devil... lol

  • Once, my young grand children wanted to watch this film and my daughter put the wrong video on, with Jerry Glodsmith's music. The kids did not like it one bit and all complained till Ann put the Tangerine Dream version on. Children know what they like!!!

  • @silverstartrucker You are so right! I hated that pseudo-classical music from the director's cut/2 disc set. Tangerine Dream's soundtrack (theatrical version) made this movie memorable. I still have the cassette and wore out the tape for this song!!

  • i loooooove this scene in this incredible movie!the way the dancer just pulls her in,the elgence of the waltz is just so beautiful, that she cant help but be blinded by it all...

  • @makeshifte4ever This was the "seduction" song

  • i love this song :D but then some reason it sometimez remindz me of IT o.O xD lol that movie use to scare the shit out of me now it doesn't o.o :D I LOVE U TIM CURRY x3

  • Tangerine Dream got no where near enough credit for this score. Should have gotten an Oscar nomination

  • This film is has the BEST representation of the Devil.

  • "I want to kill the unicorn..."

  • I love it its beautiful

  • Ahh the seduction in this scene was suggestively incredible.

  • What someone good and worthy needs to do is bring this movie back Dammit. ^_^

  • i think Tangerine Dream's score has bits that are better than Jerry Goldsmith's score like this track for exaple but over all as a hole Jerry Goldsmith's is better as is the longer cut of the film

and that loved by the sun song at the end is way out of place its so cheesy

  • love it

  • Whenever I hear this song I fall in a dream of sadness but at the same time I feel happyness I can´t quite explain.

I love both this movie and its soundtrack.. Thanks :)

  • i feel like dancing around my room now. wish i had this movie on dvd

  • be careful, at the end of the dance u might be all evil looking. lol

  • @crazydandielion you can order this online at amazon.com

  • @crazydandielion go to Alibris.com . they probably have it .

  • This is absolutely beautiful. LOVED the original soundtrack. The new release of the movie completely cuts all of this out.

  • I danced this over and over again for fun when I found the movie - got the soundtrack. I love it when it builds!!!! When you're dancing you can FEEL the soft/loud combination and the slow/fast is so dramatic. Pulls you in and out, back and forth. Fun to dance!!!! Modern Dance rules!!!!!!

  • @scroatygoats you have to make a video of your dancing :) Id like to learn it too :) The dancing scene is the beautifullest scene in every movie Ive ever seen

  • Its hauntingly seductive...

  • whats the artist and title name for this song??? please some1 tell me...

  • "The Dance", by Tangerine Dream

  • sends chills down ur back ,so haunting but nice.......love this part...brilliant vid

  • Sounds like circus music

  • i relly think they Shudnt!!! do a remake bc this is origanal and also itll become mainstreamed and raped.. thts my opinion,,, i dont want to so Legend turned into faggoty twilight and rapped books

  • hypnotize her!

  • Charm her!!!

  • Make Her One Of US!!!

  • i love this song i think it was one of the best parts of the movie! great job!:)

  • I love this movie so much I would love to see redone again with most of the same actors, at least Tim Curry. If put to the attention of a director with the right resources and funds this movie can be a hit easily, specially with all these movies with Vampires/Werewolves that have came out potentially topping Twilight.

  • I luv to listen to this when the sun goes down :) reminds me of the movie so much!

  • I love this bit! The music kind of brings a dark, twisted circus to my mind.

  • yes, part 2 was is ready if they were ever to make another movie. so many things left out of the story....

  • ah, i love this and the scene it was played in is my fav! :)

  • Jerry Goldsmith's score wasn't bad per say, but so much of mysticism of the movie is lost with his score.

Tangerine Dream's score just fits this movie to a tee and this musical number is just amazing.

  • I soo agree-u put it perfectly

  • @charvelgtrs AAAA! God, are you KIDDING? Goldsmith's Dress Waltz is the HIGHLIGHT of the GREATEST SOUNDTRACK that the movie business's GREATEST SOUNDTRACK COMPOSER EVER WROTE!!!

OK, I'm going over the top, but I do actually believe that. Still, there's no accounting for first impressions - if this track is the one that's imprinted on you with that scene, who am I to take that away from you? Personally I'll take Goldsmith's wildness and orchestral glory over TG, although I am a TG fan...

  • @charvelgtrs I agree. I hail from Europe and I prefer the Tangerine Dream score. It's just so ethereal it elevates the movie to new heights.

  • When I was little, this music combined with that black dancer thing always scared me.

  • @TwinUzis I know the feeling.

  • @TwinUzis When I was little, this music combined with that black dancer thing always mesmerized me! I love it.

  • What are we fans waiting for then we should try and put this movie out there for a remake, there were too many things in the story that was untold, like the goblins they just vanished from the story line after they capture the last Unicorn "the Mare".

  • i think this film is fantastic...even with tom cruise in it lol

  • WHAT??? Tom Cruise was in it NO WAY hehehe yeah it is a good movie and one his few that I will watch

  • legend is a cracking movie...and if tim curry was satan i wouldnt say no lol

  • Me either!!!!

  • Not with that voice! Lol. His voice is sexy as hell!

  • if i was trapped in a dark room with tim curry and sean connert talking i wouldnt attempt escaping lol

  • connery not connert

  • I love Tangerine Dream.

  • The name of the group is Tangerine dream...And yes that character was the best ive ever seen

  • Definitely my favorite piece from that movie. =D Thanks for the post!!

  • i used to be scared of this song when i was young, but after i really got into music, this is just beautiful.....

  • best horns in a movie!!!!!! makes hellboy's seem weak:)

  • It's funny... I absolutely love this movie, but no one I know has ever seen it... It's a sad thing, cause this movie is amazing.

  • Make her one of us.

  • the only one who's small minded is you "antivaccine." even if your pathetic rant held any weight, you've posted it in the wrong place. try again. this is a place for fans of the movie legend, not strung-out idealistic losers like you.

  • Your comment was random as hell. Lay off the drugs.

  • hes actually right as crazy as it sounds.

  • I actually think if a good director like that one that did the Hellboy movies, whats-his-name-DiGuerlli-or-something were to do it, I'd watch it.

  • Yea Del Toro Is the director I think you had in mind he also did Panslabyrinth. Maybe if both Ridley Scott and Del Toro got together to direct a new one it would be Amazing.

  • Yeah. Maybe if Danny elfman did the music. I think Tim Burton would do a good job, as well.

  • It wasnt elfman. It was john williams

  • Thats a sweet little pose by Darkness on the cover...Hes like "heyyyyyy,im fabulous!"...nah,I love this movie...

  • i don't agree with a remake of this movie. ... if it isn't broke, don't fix it

  • Get out so your telling me you wouldn't get happy knowing they doing a new movie. Okay well think of this if there making new Good vs Evil movies like Angels vs Demons you wouldn't like to see this one.

  • exactly

  • My grammar was bad on my previous text comment but all you people know I'm right about this movie people are practically craving for a remake.
