Hi James, please can you demonstrate maybe how to use the MIC input please, i have the DJM700 and i cant get mine to work, i dont now if i am using the correct type of microphone.
Man .. Just before the drop at the club everyone gets jittery and they're eyes roll then the dirt drop comes and people go nuts. Ears orgasm and people scream.
It's good when DJ's mash up well known stuff. I say it because it's hard to distinguish between the track and the mix sometimes. Which I guess is the point but you know.
as regards to 'tableturn's comment calling james zabiela an average DJ....mate...he's no.17 in the WORLD..is extremely talented and has produced so much with pioneer in their effects department...he's far from average!!
I wouldn't waste my money on one of his CDs, when all it will illustrate is how technology will turn a standard mix into something vaguely interesting (sans talent). Download a mix by DJ Troubl or DJ Kentaro and you will see how a DJ who has the ability to manipulate vinyl with just turntables and a 'standard' 2 channel mixer really does it.
most famously talented DJs can be great with the basic 2 channel mixer, after all that is all that was available when they first started out for many years (these kinds of mixers like the DJM 600/700/800 have only been common at clubs/parties for like 7 years).
In fact some of the even older DJs use to use mixers that didnt have a 3 band EQ!
BTW Zabiela can make great mixes w/ or w/out such a mixer. With such a mixer he illustrates his talent too, uniquely, its not jus somtin u can copy
clearly ur into all that urban stuff. and i respect that - but zabiela is extremely talented - and this video shows very little of what he can do. im aware of kentaro and troubl.. their just scratch djs man .. its cool though - just dnt pay out zabiela when his far for diverse than them 2
Quite easy actually. If the DJ in question has come to play at a club, then the focus is on playing tunes that people can dance to. Check out someone like Jazzy Jeff who creates awesome mixes, whilst also throws in a bit of turntablism to entertain the crowd. The trickery part can almost be viewed like the breakdown of a house tune, before the beat drops again and everyone goes bananas.
i've been looking for the mixer but have only found it available in the UK. but not in the US. id rather buy the 700 than the 600. but then again the 800 is beter so wWTF is a nigga to do>

Hmmmmm......a case of technology allowing an average DJ to sound like a a good DJ
Tableturn 4 years ago
just download some james zabiela mixes or buy some of his CDs, then youll understand he is not an "average" DJ.
