  • great video! but I have a question though... why is Saint Cecilia's body not displayed? why is it just a statue?

  • @6MemoryOfForever9 Hi and thanks! Go to Episode #114 titled "Angels and Demons in Trastevere". St Cecilia is featured in that episode in greater detail, including why her body is not displayed.

  • @aroadretraveled ok, thanks! *goes to check it* :D

  • Great video

  • @Domodeath Thank you for appreciating the Saints of Assisi episode!!

  • @aroadretraveled How could I not? Its very well done!

  • Thank you for posting this aroadretraveled

  • St.Cecelia is my patron saint

  • Yes and I was named after St. Cecilia.

  • and it is believed that the way that energy moved thru his cells made them less likely to behave as "normal" cells when the physical forces stopped. The energy may still move around them for a very long time after the consciousness leaves.

  • Wow!! Move over Ponce de Leon, YOU may have stumbled upon the Fountain of Youth!! :) Very interesting stuff....and another excellent reason to meditate (or learn to meditate for those who don't know how, like me). Great information, thank you for sharing!!!

  • Thanks for the great conversation...and video.

  • I have never heard a viable spiritual or scientific argument, but I will offer one based on my own spiritual practice - when a person meditates deeply, the vibrations of their cells change. The whole flow of energy thru the body alters. Many people in my practice age very slowly and heal well. The body of our teacher was incorrupt for weeks after death (has not been checked lately to my knowledge),

  • Even natural mummification is unsual, but it is not as amazing as the relatively fresh bodies of Bernadette or Catherine Laboure.

  • I agree....I couldn't believe St Bernardette's incorrupt body. I wonder what makes some saints/popes incorrupt, and others not. In reference to St Claire, it was St Francis who began the Franciscan movement as a Friar Minor inspite of everyone throwing stones at him and calling him a lunatic. In my opinion, St Francis' body should have been incorrupt as well if it was based on spiritual merit. Besides, he was the 1st claimed to receive the Stigmata!!!

  • I believe in him for I saw St. Francis in my vision everytime I prayed and ask for help from God. Two times I saw him, at first i wonder who this saint is? I search about him in the net I found out he is St. Francis of Assissi. He is the great knight of Jesus. Jesus send him to me whenever I am in trouble because I am healing sick people, for there are evil, the obstacle to the will of God. God bless you and your love ones.

  • Is that really wax? I had been given to believe it was her body, but if you have heard that it is just wax molded around a skeleton, I guess that is not very "incorrupt."

  • I saw her tomb myself in the St Chiara Basilica in Assisi a few times (and snuck photos). She's definitely covered up with a wax figure or something, just like one of the the incorrupt Popes in the Vatican (St Peter's).

I've seen St Margaret in Cortona; she's also incorruptible...but she looks dried up like a mummy and a little scary, you know? I WAS hoping St Claire's body was incorruptible and the wax covering was actually HER.

  • He is mistaken about Clare's bones - she is incorrupt and has been sitting in a glass casket in San Damiano for centuries - her face is black, but she is definitely more than bones.

  • I originally thought being incorruptible meant the entire body is still preserved: flesh, skin, and bones (like st Maragaret?). There are all sorts of conflicts on St Claire's incorruptible state. Some say yes, some say no because a preserved skeleton is too common to be considered incorruptible.

One source says Claire was no longer officially Incorrupt, yet her skeleton was in perfect condition. Her remains lie covered in a wax figure dressed in the habit of her Order. So who knows for sure?
