I will always associate this song with the asassination scene in Spike Lee's film, "Malcolm X". It did come out an around that time, in early 1965. I can never get enough of that sax!
I was a teenager when this came out. Jr. Walker and I lived on the same street, just a block and a half from each other in South Bend, IN. I remember the day the song came out. It was first played on WLS in Chicago, on a Friday at 1:00pm. Jr. told me to listen to the station that day and I would hear the song. The rest is history.
Man, you lived in one soulful neighborhood! I LOVED Jr. Walker since I was a kid in High School. He always seemed like a decent, down-to-earth guy when I saw him speak a little, here and there. What a sax man and singer!
im a55 year old white geezer from brighton england and this is the music we used to dance to in my youth god bless you motown sam and dave james brown and many many other black american artistsfor your contribution to keeping us happy ,sad and in the groove bobby k
Definately great song and Jr. was amazing but what kills me is that Sam Cooke imo was the greatest soul singer and he died young. Damn sad... I hear a Change Gonna Come and it brings me to this place, it's hard to explain, it's beyond nostalgic; feels like I transcend lifetimes... Extraordinary man.
love this so much mve and grove great vocals;)

This was my mom and dad's party record back in the day. It reminds me of my aunt and uncles bar in Nashville, Tenn. Those were the days.

Great music here. Every time I hear this I think of those a**holes in Malcolm X casing out the ballroom. Great tune though.

@cirethgr8 It's perfect in the opening scene sequence of Misery when James Caan goes driving in the snowstorm...

@aeliaalicinia....I bet. I love the tune though. It's very versatile to go with any frame of mind or plot in a movie. LOL

What sucks is that this isn't a bad song, but the store where I work plays it so often that I've grown to hate it by association. Damn you, retail!
