@sportsfake You cannot record directly onto a USB drive. You either have to record directly from the audio OUT or you can record via MIDI.

Half true I suppose. It's technically a stage piano but it's still electronic so you can call it a keyboard. :)

The keyboard has 128 note polyphony so you would never have the problem of notes dropping off when using the sustain pedal as some keyboards do. The piano sounds are very good in my opinion, although you will find the best in Yamaha boards. The touch and weight of the keys is not that realistic but still a lot better than other boards. They are very responsive, have a nice weight and are great for controlling dynamics. However you should really try the keyboard out yourself to make a decision.

cheers for that, it sounds very nice, the keyboard i was on about is a roland rd300s,the older version of the sx,is that an sx?

The RD300 is actually a very old keyboard, made in the 80's. I certainly would not recommend it as your needs far surpass what the keyboard can offer. It only has 16 note polyphony and the piano sounds is not at all very realistic. For keyboard enthusiasts, it's great, but for classical pianists I would definitely look elsewhere.

My parents have always encouraged me ever since I took it up however I am very passionate about the piano anyway and would never think about giving it up. Despite my love of the piano, I don't think I will pursue it to such a high level with music college being so competitive and my main concentration currently focussed on academic subjects, (although I studying Music as a Standard Grade right now - Scottish equivalent to a GCSE). I'm 14 by the way so I am at secondary school.
