Presidents have very little to do with these cycles. They are caused primarily by the absurd fiat money system which creates an initial boom due to money/credit expansion followed by the inevitable bust when it is contracted. This centralized money monopoly is the only thing that can cause the entire nation (and often the world)to experience these cycles together.

I agree, thats why McCain only wants to debate Obama in "small" town hall meetings. McCain wants to lead this entire country, but is scared to speak in front of a large crowd cause he'll put his foot is his mouth again and again, just as Bush has been doing for years... MSM has tap danced around this race issue since early in Obama's campaign. Anyone who believed it would not be an issue was naive. Early on, they asked the question, "is he black enough?" Now, after the Jeremiah Wright revelation, he is suddenly "to black." I am a Ron Paul supporter, the corporate media has effectively ignored him. The Repub. agenda has ruined this country lately and waisted 1000's of American lives in the Middle East. Hillary Clinton is no better, as she runs her campaign with a Republican Playbook (based on fecade & illusion) and openly subscribes to Republican policies, like the summer gas tax proposal. My point exactly... Bush has been lying to America for two terms and everyone knows it now. McCain is also a republican, on record as being OK with us being in Irag for "100" years and justified it in this exact same speech. So what will the cost in American lives really be against a barrel of oil? Clinton will lose because she has to be more than the 1st woman in the White House.
