Which guitar do you favor most between the fender american delxe and the ibanez sv5470?! Which one is more versatile in tonality?! I'm trying to decide which one to get?! Thanks
@1FenderGibson in this video I am going straight into a Peavey Bandit 112 2008 model, my gigging set up is a pedal board with a Tone Bone Plexi pedal (Marshall type distortion, great for hard rock and old school metal) I use a Visual Sounds Route 808 pedal, (great for blues and classic rock) , I use a Boss compression sustain pedal and a Boss Digital Delay... I run those through my Fender 65 Super Reverb reissue amp (KILLER TUBE AMP) I also use this set up through my Peavey at gigs as well.
Hi Mike, I was wondering if you ever played with the Boss GT-10? If so, what is your feel about it? Do you prefer regular stomp boxes or not use any at all? Thanks and have a blessed day!
@1FenderGibson I havent played through one... all I use are pedals.... I love my set up... but I am sure the Boss GT-10 is cool... I think I may have tried one a long time ago.....
Nice video... I'm considering to buy a HSS American Strat with S1 switch but cannot find one with a finish like yours (Sienna sunburst I guess?). Doesn't Fender produce this finish anymore combine with S1 and HSS?
Nice! I just bought a 2005 American deluxe H-S-S like yours and had a question. What is the bridge position (full humbucker) with the S1 turned on do? When you turned it on in the video, you went to position 4 before doing anything at 5. Does it do anything with bridge position?
Hey Mike, I really appreciate finding this demo. I am thinking of buying the 2010 Fender American Deluxe Strat HSS and this really makes me want it. I appreciate your playing and helpful videocast. Can you tell me what amp you are running your guitar through in this demo?
i just wanted to thank you for making a great demo and lesson. and i love when you say "stevie ray vaughan-ee" at 1:16. haha. i love srv. savin my money up right now for an american strat.
and yours is a beauty. congrats. thanks again my friend.
I have the same guitar. I bought it in o5 sienna sunburst hss s-1 switching. I bought it at guitar center. The guitar kept giving me switching problems. The bridge and middle pickup worked but the neck pickup did not. I returned the guitar and got another one. It did the same thing. Then 50 bucks to fix it because it was out of warranty. Finally I ditched the pickguard for a custom Seymour Duncan HSH pickguard with Jazz, Stk4 and JB humbucker. It is way better now and performs!!
Man i have this same guitar color and all. I love it man its great, Get just about any tone you want from it not to mention the color is beautiful. Vid was cool man
Right on with the light on, Mike. Really nice guitar, I am a Jazzmaster guy myself. The Stratocaster sounds beautiful in a lot of open guitar tunings.
Dude, this video is awesome! Thank you very very much, this has really helped me not just to know about the S-1 switch system but also to know more about the regular tunes!
great video, i appreciate the detailed explanations. i went and played one and they are awesome, i'm going to buy it. what color is that, didn't see that particular pickguard and body combo on fender's website?
Mine is a 2006, it's called a Sienna Burst, I don't think they make it anymore, but I am not sure.. I am glad you liked the video...these guitars are AWESOME!
I have the same guitar, not having much success at getting a great OD sound. What are you using or do you recommend for pedal or amp? Excellent demo BTW.
@AxelMontaner Hey man! A great way to get a killer overdrive sound is to run a vintage style overdrive pedal on top of a distortion pedal,, I use the Behringer classic tube over drive (copy of an Ibanez Ts-9 Tube screamer) on top of a Tone Bone Plexi tube pedal, any distortion pedal will work like a Boss DS-1..just run both together...
nice demo dude. I normally hate talky demo but yours is an exception. thanks you for going through the 9 tones.

dude didnt your guitar come with a small switch between the tone knobs? The passing lane switch that routs to the neck pickup and bypasses the tone.

Umm, isn't the 2nd normal position in-phase and parallel, not out-of-phase?

If you don't mind me asking and have the time, what is your set up? Does it work for rock, classic rock, and blues?

Very nice demo .. however .. I do have a question ..
I thought the pickups are noiseless ... soon as you went to your OD channel I hear the hum.
is it GUITAR pickup hum .. or just simply due to the fact you are running no Noise Gate ?
MikeyGee001 1 year ago
@MikeyGee001 this is not the model with the noiseless, this is the model before that one, 2 tex mex single coils and a Diamond back humbucker.

Very good review, man.
But I believe what you call "out of phase" is actually parallel wiring, and your "in phase" is serial wiring.

@AxelMontaner For great overdrive I recommend a Vox AC15 or the AC30 for a larger amp.
