Fighting Gravity stays in one spot and are being moved by people around them in black suits, and the idea originates from Japan. Team iLuminate invented the technology they use, and choreographs a dance routine in pitch black darkness. To me, iLuminate is much more impressive in that regard!

As you can see, this kind of thing has been done in Japan long long before this 'fighting gravity' group on America's got talent. However, I wouldn't consider it 'ripping it off', in fact, I don't see what the problem is with taking the concept and using.

The Japanese performed something of a similar concept. The Japanese did it more for the comedic effect while Fight Gravity did it to make people go WOW. I think that Fighting Gravity just improved on the Japanese's concept.
