When i see donnie yen fighting and punchin in movies, it amazes me like even i do gung fu and if i ever fought him, i wouldnt kno what 2 do because hes so well rounded in everything and is unbelievably fast. This is why I like Donnie Yen's choreography in films. He knows how film is like and he knows how to incorporate martial arts into film to give the audience a good spectacle. He says authenticity/practicality does not matter much because it is a film, it's about visuals. I've seen a few UFC films and not only do they suck at acting, the fight scenes are boring. If I wanted a "real" fight, I would just watch UFC and if I want a good martial arts film, I would watch films like Donnie's films.

Donnie is like the Christian Bale of kung fu movies. He's really passionate and focused about what he does (ass kicking); he's a complete professional. He keeps his personal life well hidden. And he's a genuinely talented actor.

Also, they could both probably beat the piss out of all of us here.

I think the difference is that Bale has more exposure because of Batman. Ip Man's a big success over here in China, but I think Donnie also deserves a major picture in the West.

Watch the movie "Ip Man" and you will see the BEST of Donnie Yen. Although his mother was Wushu and Donnie did train in Wushu, an art commonly mistaken for Wing Chun, Donnie trained in Wing Chun to, or he could not do the movie "Ip Man". There is no way that man could fight so beautifully and perfectly unless he knew the art inside and out. I can even say his movies rival that of Bruce Lee as well, and being that Donnie is a skilled martial artist, has surpassed Bruce Lee.

Donnie is one of my favorite Martial Artists of all time, he is incredibly good.

But Bruce Lee was beyond good. He was a genius, a true pioneer who laid the foundation for all modern stars to follow.

Remember the Dojo Scene in Fist of Fury? All modern stars have done their version of it, but still none compares with the original, because Bruce's scene made him look more bad-ass scary than any other. That's good cinema.
