This was the first plane I ever flew on. Nice flight from Brisbane to Hamilton Island. And then the next month, I flew on an older model 737 into Sydney. Didn't fly again for 10 years.
Huh? Look at it again; there are 4 engines and 2 on each wing. This airframe was developed to have a much reduced noise spectrum that comparable aircraft while having a much higher speed of a jet vs. a turboprop. You used to see a lot of these at London City with the steep approach angle. As to your question, that is the design of the airframe and nothing that the airlines demanded to have. Hope this helps!
Yeah it has 4, they are the same type engines as the Boeing Chinook helicopter believe it or not. This aircraft is best suited for short hall flights and to land on small airstrips, can easily land on an 1100m runway.
For greater range and redundancy. E.g. if 1 engine fails the aircraft can still operate safely and land without such a risk than if only 1 engine was operational. Also, they're tiny engines so they don't produce much thrust each.
The 2 a/c starring in this video were VH-YAD and VH-YAE. Both were flying for Southern a few years ago, now flying for NJS out of Perth. Both a/c were recently bought by NJS from the leasing company.
there is a reason for all these caustions and warnings if a aircraft door is damaged on the groudn or not sealed correctly it could open during flight and cause a rapid decompression
Since when does qantas have a BAe-146? Qantas only have A380, 747, 767, 737, 717, A330, Dash-8 Q300 + Q400????

There are more safety risks for the A330 than the BAe 146, and the 146 video show how to open the baggage locker!

Remember the one time i have been on a flight with a BAe 146 i asked if i could open the door when we arrived and they said yes.

This is comical. At first I thought this was a spoof.
There are actually more "advisories" than "procedures".
0:35 - Caution!....Damage risk! The safety shoe is....
1:18 - Warning!....Never approach an airfracft until....
1:41 - Caution!....If the movement of the handle....
1:57 - Warning!....Check that no personnel are in the cargo....
. . . . . I fully expected another advisory at....
2:11 - Warning!....Be aware that when you intitate....
