  • Parkour isnt a sport its an art!!

  • Thumbs up who does parkour?

  • shit i was born a traceur

  • Worth watching

  • 1:20: PARKOUR DOES NOT INCLUDE FLIPS! FREERUNNING AND PARKOUR ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. Not bashing on free running, but its just the two are so closely related, it seems people just throw free running in with parkour...

  • every dick in my school needs to watch this! "hey lewis, do some free running" they wont accept what the difference is! i do parkour because i am a traceur!

  • @LewisHDgaming yea, me too dude, anyone finds out that i do parkour, the first thing they ask is: OH, can you do a backflip? :P

  • @CreamPieVids yeah i know

  • i have joined that flow i started recently i can do all the vaults and i can do the safety rolls and scale walls and fences and i jumped of bridges a few times lol it's fun.

  • parkour is free running

  • @SokaSua Yeah. i can get from point A to point B just doing freerun!

  • you can also conclude that parkour is for lazy people who doesn't want to use the stairs

  • i like how you explained it in "We" like "Showing that 'we' do not have any limits" It gives people the feeling that you yourself do parkour.

  • i wouldnt call parkour simple

  • If u wanna do all this without getting hurt play mirrors edge

  • Parkpur could be compared to a martial art but its much more amazing and parkour can be used more practically

  • "Parkour is the simplest way to get from A to B." Wouldn't say it's the simplest way hahaa... I think walking would be the simple easy option? =L But anyway... This is cool stuff. =)

  • I don't like your definition you imply the simplest and easiest way, if that was true park our

  • It's not a sport. Sport implies competition, parkour has no competition. Parkour is indeed a lifestyle.

  • Parkour is also about how u keep going straight and no going back? Free running basically the same but more freedom of course

  • to get from point "a" to point "b" the easiest way is to walk cuz most people like me are 2 lazy 2 try tht thumbs up if u agree

  • its not getting there in the simplest way, its getting there in the fastest and most efficient way, and i agree fully with marius11101, its not a sport, its a life style and a commitment

  • my friends brother says parkour and free running are the same things... we try to tell him what the difference is, but he is a gay boy.

  • It is a sport because it is officiated, and not by anyone you may be guessing, it is measured by yourself and how you build yourself up. so in a way it is the sport that is an art. and art is lifestyle, but in every lifestyle you build up. in every sport you build up. parkour is what you all think it is, no one is wrong. you can compete with other artwork if you want. same as Parkour.

  • Parkour was a remixed or nick name for a side burn version of freerunning, it was just a nock off of free running, the founder of free running from france, sabastien focan* (forgive if i spelt his name wrong) decided parkour was a better name for the sport, but david belle over here, close traceur of sabastien, decided to adopt the name and turn up a whole new sport. sabastien agreed with him, as far as we know, and now the sportwas official. yes parkour is a sport

  • Its like spider man!

  • oh haha i do this at kids kingdom xD wen me n some frinds play ninja tag haha fun game its pretty much parkour n tag mixed x3 fun fun fun my mom said i was gonna break my neck but im not scared haha its fun to cuz ur 13 n in fit xD but theres a thing that pisses me off ppl say i cant do parkour cux im a girl T^T im allowed to its free n i like it D:<

  • Parkour was't created by David Bell! Like the words of Ryan Dolye "People say the french came up with free funinng and parkour but if you watch Jakie Chan back in the 1960's, he's running up walls jupping over cars, he's like the Godfather of free running. i dont wnat to be the next Jakie Chan i just want to be the first Ryan Dolye."

  • Ohhh...I get it now

  • That is parkour.. parkour is Freerunning, Gymnastics, and Acrobatics all put together.. Freerunning is the movement of the body that creates a new, faster way to get to your destination.. thats what it was originally used for.. now its used to look awesome

  • @Speedydon11 freerunning is completely different from parkour and was created after parkour. parkour is efficient free running just looks cooler

  • it's not sport is an art , when you do a gainer is a sport extreme sport') the 1st important rule is safety;)

  • L'art du deplacement, Parkour and freerunning are the same but are used in different ways: Parkour is a discipline that helps to overcome any obstacle by finding the most efficient and fastest way to get from point A to point B using only facilities of ower body and freerunning is the beauty of movement, how beautifully we overcome an obstacle, using facilities of ower body.

  • this reminds me of mirror's edge (a ps3 game.) :3 its all about parkour and using the "flow = w ="

  • @UnKracked Well Is it legal?

  • Just wondering, is Parkour or Free Running, even Legal? Considering, it could lead to terrible injury, or death..

  • good

    ^^

  • An activity where you could get really fucked up trying something really dangerous or stupid but if you pull it off you get the satisfaction of not fucking yourself up permenently

  • screw the stairs! I CAN PARKOUR! *jumps off building*

  • @Arkenarge ahah lol. idk how your comment didnt get thumbs up D:

  • @Arkenarge "parkour" is not a verb. you cannot "parkour" anything. you "do parkour"

  • Parkour, Freerunning etc... All came from martial arts... This was used hundreds of years ago by spies from waring clans in Asia... >_>

  • omg!!!

  • david belle did not create parkour...

  • @lukacho5 your right. Altair did.

  • Why people getting so whooped up over wht its called? Just do it and be happy.

  • EVERYONE, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PARKOUR AND FREERUNNING IS MADE UP BY INTERNET PEOPLE!

  • Parkour is the most efficient way from getting from A to B. Flips and spins aren't necessarily NOT part of parkour, but not really needed. All the fancy stuff would be FREERUNNING, NOT PARKOUR.

  • well said and yes parkour is a sport its just not trained as one shony95

  • 46 disrupted the flow...shoooossshhh

  • parkour is not a sport!

  • @Shony95 Yes parkour is a sport, it is simply not a very well known one. I myself am a traceur.

  • @Thetraceur005124

If you think tha parkour is a sport, you are not a tracer. Ask David Belle's opinion about this =)

Parkour is an art of movement, without spactators and judges, without competitions.

  • parkour would be the most CREATIVE way from point A to B

  • so what is parkour?

  • Haha, you missed the chance to make the pun "Join the movement"

  • lol very first thing he said "its a sport" wrong! and yes Omegax9000 your 100% right

  • parkour is not a sport and if it is than its not parkour.

  • Competition pushes people to fight against others for the satisfaction of a crowd and/or the benefits of a few business people by changing its mindset. Parkour is unique and cannot be a competitive sport unless it ignores its altruistic core of self development. If parkour becomes a sport, it will be hard to seriously teach and spread parkour as a non-competitive activity. And a new sport will be spread that may be called parkour, but that won't hold its philosophical essence anymore.

  • Parkour is simply the greatest thing ever thought of!

My life would not be half of what it is without all the great inspiration from all the amazing traceurs, like Hellden, Chase, Ryan, Daniel, Eric, Levi, Phil, Cane, Nathan, Sam, Cyril, Damien, Tim, David B, David L, David M, ect!

  • i know what parkour and freerunning are but what is tricking?

  • nice video Br0

I'm one of the people who do this!

join us, and find a new fun way to live your life.

    P/\RKØÛR!!

  • @scream2749 i do parkour to and love it im 16 thoe:)and i would love to join u

  • @sawaugust dude I'm do parkour and 16 too!! I live in hollywood....it kinda sucks for parkour cause all the GOOD structures are way too populated

  • Great video! Although parkour isnt technically a sport. Its more of a physical discipline.

  • It's not a sport, it's a discipline, because it disencourages the competition with everyone else but yourself.

  • i'm so in. lets join the flow

  • swestuff94 piss off why you watch whene you hate it dickhead and your jealous that your fat an stupid

  • parkour isent that good...there i lives we gott many 4-7 stores houses and i know pakour would be useless becose the only way to come up is by clamiming the windos or drain pipe so that wouldent be so fast...and that part runing from miletarys and polise a avegde human can run about 4-10 meters on 1 sec a bullet 270-940 :)

  • @SweStuff94 u need to work on your spelling

  • @branby1994 u need to work on a dick to ure self

  • @SweStuff94 lol i understood that

  • @branby1994 Good for you

  • so parkour isnt a sport at all? how do they hav teams then? yes im a newb sry

  • @iateyursandwiches The teams are groups like clubs in high school (or at least they should be) The team would train together and practice teaching each other hand helping each other as they learn the flow

  • @iateyursandwiches The teams are groups like clubs in high school (or at least they should be) The team would train together and practice teaching each other helping each other as they learn the flow

  • @iateyursandwiches Teams are formed simply to either learn more about parkour with help from others who may or may not also be learning, or to do something that you enjoy with others. It's an art of movement, as it said in the video. Art should be shared, not contested. c:

  • your are completely correct. It not about showing off and spinning, its about discipline and consistency and of course speed. great video!!!

  • Does Mirror's Edge use parkour? What does Parkour mean? Thanks for explaining it. I'm gonna try this when I'm older... or out of the house. Looks like great and fun exercise.

  • me and mi m8s have this parkour race, gr8 crack, u shud try it.

get from one point to another (A - B), rules are simple, follow the parkour rules, no flips, spins etc. you may not go left or right, u must go in a STRAIGHT direction, if you encounter a building, walk in one side and out the other, if there is a desk in your way, jump it, dont avoid it, u must stay in one direction. Good fun. Highly dangerous, takes practice. Enjoy ;)

  • A few things could be changed.

1.quickest, or engery efficent way from point a to b using only the human body.

    2. sometiems parkour does involve flips, front flips help me out when i land on a surface (like a railing) with to much forward momentum, i can front flip off to keep my flow.

    great video though, well done.

  • what the hell does XD mean

  • @ballpython11 its supposed to be a laughing face.

  • I want to do parkour! except im to wimpy and scared!

  • @elftoes888 make yourself do it. you want be scared any more after the first time

  • this video is so good that when people ask whats parkour i send em all here XD dude thanks for making it and please dont ever delet it its very usefull and well explaind

  • my new catchphrase join the flow XD epic

  • parkour is for people who cant freerun lol jokes theres more skill to parkour evan that i like freerung more like being quiet and such

  • @parkour3runers trust me its better to start with parkour then freerunning makes it easyr i tryd freeerunning first XD worst fail ever

backflip stop strigt flat in the air and body slam to concret jajajaja im never gonna do that again

  • @realderekbrothers but i can freerun very well my freinds and i are members of the UF :)

  • @parkour3runers really well thats fucking wicked i started with freerunning and broke my ass so i dont try that anymore XD im ok at parkour but im scared to do monkey vaults cos of the 4 tymes i faceplanted on mud so yea XD

  • exactly... and its not a sport.

  • great i love this video, freerunning is taking over. i'm glad to see some people are keeping it the way it's supposed to be

  • it aint a sport it is a lifestyle!

  • Comment removed

  • @mousetrap128 its me XD

  • who was that at 1:56?

  • i love parkoour brings u alive :D

  • to say it the simplest fastest way "parkour is a lifestyle"

  • i wouldn't say fastest.. i'd say most efficient..

  • Well, I am not saying you are wrong, but Parkour "can" be flips and tricks. There is no set rule saying this is and this is not parkour. Parkour is simply the movement and people interpret it in their own (different) way.

  • true! There is no defined Parkour or defined Freerunning, its a discipline in which you train your body to overcome different obstacles and pass any barriers. You can use that to get from A to B but you can also use it as an art to express yourself.

Some people do flips some dont, some are more fluid and elegant and some are more dynamic. So stop with that nonsense PARKOUR IS THIS FREERUNNING IS THAT ITS THE SAME SHIT BUT DIFFERENT COLOR!

  • When you said this is not parkour that was free running they get from point A to point B if the flashiest fanciest way so they can show off to everyone around them

  • "Parkour: A sport in which you get from point A to point B in the easiest, simplest way possible".

So if I was following the above method, if I approached some stairs, the easiest, simplest way possible would be to walk down them. This is not parkour. What you are missing is the quickest way possible!

I really wouldn't class parkour as a sport, and in the end, I see no real need to define the difference between parkour and freerunning - I see them both as movements.

  • *both as part of the same movement.

  • i really enjoy the kid wearing the striped polo.

    he's pretty sexy.

  • Nice job there. That is such a hard question to answer, even for the experienced traceurs.

It really bothers me when people mistake parkour and freerunning.

I also hate when people hear me say parkour and they immediately assume all I do is jump off rooftops.

  • well done

  • To be honest I wouldn't say that Parkour is the easiest way to get from point A to B its more like the fastest way to get from point A to B

  • @SuperFailLol I would agree and disagree.

Its the fastest AND most efficient way to get from point A to B.

Parkour, ideally, can be used to help you escape from a situation, rather than fight.

  • perfect explanation and examples!!!!! 5 stars!!!!!

  • Grate vid - I'm A Tracer / Freerunner my self and yes ppl have asked what is the difference, this vid will help :D

  • i would join in... but noone does it in england , or noone i know anyway , so i couldnt learn... 5**

  • lots of people do it in england

  • Okay. Seriously people? Do we all need to buy into commercialism just to get through the day? Take a good close look at parkour and free running... THEY ARE THE SAME FUCKING THING!!!!!!!! Both include movements that are wasteful. You want A to B? Run your ass off. Stop comparing the two and get on with your lives. Even if the two were different, why the hell would it mattter? It is all movement. Respect the essence of movement and your mind. Stop using the looking glass.

  • amen

  • parkour aint getting from A to B the easiest way possible if so u would just walk.

parkour is getting from A to B the most efficient quickest and smoothest way possible

  • 0:30 OOOH that question is to traceurs as to a parent is "how do you make babies?"... man, such a killer question! XD

  • Dude ur one hell of a person they should put this vid on tv for the ppl to watch.

Whats the last song name btw ??? = )

  • free running is the more dangerous and stylized way of Parkour, EXAMPLE;

Coca Cola is the more dangerously unhealthy and stylized way of water, therefore, parkour is to freerunning.

    water is to coca cola.

  • "be coca cola, my friend" XDD

  • This is cool for the people that do it. But for the boundaries thing, what happens when you break something that inhibits you to do parkour? wouldn't that be a boundary or your limit? I mean I know he said It's not about showing of but it was still rpetty cool. I mean I'm just saying there has to be a limit somewhere.

  • the only limit is yourself. i'm not saying thats a bad thing. but don't reach so far outside your comfort zone to where you severely injure yourself. risk is what you are trying to limit through parkour but it's always there. i have also seen people train in many different ways with broken bones, though it does severely limit you. my friend zack practiced handless vaults and one handed vaults with a cast on his wrist.

  • parkour is not exactly the easiest simplest way to get from a to b there are farster and simpler ways to get around, driving for example.

  • Ya, he forgot to mention its the most efficient way possible using ONLY your body.

  • what if you're driving and there's an accident on the road? or you're car's in the shop? or you don't have a car? or what if you'd rather get in shape while getting to your destination? its sad how many people would rather take the lazy route than one that will challenge their physical integrity which they aren't used to using because they've been trapped by our age of convenience.

  • wow i didnt know what parkour was till right now!!

    now i wanna try it

  • parkour has flippinf thats just some gey thing sumone heard on youtube a flip is actualy juts a typ of vault i do a lot of parkour there is even a surrey centre parkour club where they sorta just get together and practice i dont like to make it competitive

  • whats the first song? i know it but i didnt know the name! can anybody help me?!

  • it is not gay u feking homo

  • ??? david bell duz flips and spins ll the time

  • yes he does do flips all the time, there are alot of freerunners who are allso traceurs

  • ya that was the best way to show ppl what parkour is and what it isnt good jorb

  • run like hell

  • ok...first off awesome AFI song...

second, what is easy or simple about jumping between skyscrapers? the easiest and simplest form of getting anywhere would probably be public transit, walking, driving, or if its a roof stairs or an elevator.

  • what skyscrapers? those were normal buildings, and jumping from one to another, then off onto the group is hella faster than taking a friggin elevator.

  • so mirrors edge is parkour then? and not free running, right?

  • yes

  • yes,as to my noledge i do not remember her doing any flips in the game.

  • sound like the boy in the start says "what is harcore?"

  • I wouldn't say the easiest and simplest way, I would say it the fastest way.

  • what is the song?

  • ts not a sport is a dicipline a life style

  • its not a sport

  • Parkour is getting from point A to point B as fast as you can whether it involves jumping from buildings to scaling walls. It can include tricking.

Free running is starting at point A and from there just running free doing whatever you want. That's how I see it.

  • Way too many people argue over parkour. If parkour is freedom, why only tie it down to certain moves? If free running is about doing flips and movement, why not call it gymnastics? If tricking is all about martial arts and flips, why not call it XMA? In any case they are all stunts. So, why not call them all stunts? People try to label things way too much. When people stop caring about what is what and who invented this, then people will finally understand just what they're talking about.

  • Well it's not called gymnastic cause gymnastics isnt on the streets. But ya it's all similar. Wonder what david belle's definition was

  • Gymnastics can be done anywhere. A gym is simply a place to practice and perform the various disciplines of gymnastics. David's def. of parkour was only his side of the issue. There are many different views on parkour, this is why people need to stop worrying about what everything should be labelled as. Through parkour, the practicioner is supposed to render himself free of all previous ties to his environment. Why keep ourselves tied to something that is simply a name?

  • the difference between gymnastics and freerunning arent the moves. its the idea the phylosopie behind it.

And you say that the parkour moves are limitated on some moves but its not. you can use every move you want as long as it is in accordance with the idea of parkour. But there is no real list telling you what moves to learn.

  • I didn't say anything about free running being gymnastics. All I said was what I said. Where are you getting this whole "you said the moves are limited" thing?

  • Comment removed

  • I hear Point A to B, or fastest, simplist, most effective way etc.

Really, one of the most flawed part of these statements, would be, it really isn't about "Point A to B", you A to B and back to A. You have to be comfortable getting back again, there are alot of people confusing, running around on roofs as parkour.....

  • Parkour is NOT the easiest, simplest way, it is the fastest and most effecient way to getting from point A to point B

  • I agree

  • Flips are part of parkour. Parkour is all about infinity movement. Handstands, flags and too much tricking is freerun. Parkour is to get fastest and most efficient way from A to B and everythings what slow down the movement is not parkour. Couple of flips and spins are not disturbing movement. When I see lot of people, I do flip, Because flips are beautifuls

  • most "EFFICIENT"

EFFICIENT: being effective without wasting time or effort or expense

  • Parkour and Freeun are nearly same. Flips are part of parkour.

  • that kid at the beginning is pretty sexy.

the indian one not so much ;D

  • this is AWESOME

  • Parkour is NOT a sport. And it's not necessarily about finding the "easiest" and "simplest" way from point A to B. It's about the fastest and most efficient way. Parkour is a mental discipline, a martial art. Parkour is a path to cognitive strength and a method of conquering fear and instinct. And as a side note, believe it or not, flips ARE actually practical sometimes. A flip can easily turn a headfirst foward lunge into a foot landed drop.

  • Finally someone that actually knows something about this. Im so tired of everyone saying all this bs about how and what Parkour is exactly. I heard that David Belle once said that Parkour is getting to a place the fastest and most efficient way, and that flips ARE part of parkour they are just called tricks. Freerunning is just another American name for it.

  • Well, I would say that "freerunning" is something different. Freerunning emphasizes acrobatic skill and is more of a body art. One clear difference between parkour and freerunning is simply building drops. Parkour is internal, freerunning is external, though they overlap every now and then and are closely related sometimes.

  • yeah, what is said in the video is right...

but I feel that it is projected as mostly drops...where are all the other movements used to go over the most common obstacles? this video(in my opinion) shows too many drops, and seems to suggest that drops are a very big part in parkour...which I don't think so.

obviously they still are a category of movements but I feel it is just overly emphasized here, and people might get the wrong impression.

    peace.

  • haha nice

this is wat i was thinking of

my friends are learning how to skate and i can't skate for Sh!t right

soo i got pretty sad that ima be alone

so when i saw this vid im like wait

i can parkour and they cant so it made me happy soo thanks :D loved your vid

  • first of all id say that i love parkour, it is a way of life.

    second of all

whats the name of the first song playing?

  • what's the truth was it david belle or sebastien foucan who found parkour? perhaps they both did scince sebastien and he's freinds started to play (ninjas) when they where very young and david from his father i donno but please tell me i would really wana know

  • parkour

    vaulting jumping climbing

    parkour is life

  • very cool video

    parkour forever
