  • Punk goes acoustic 1 & 2 ..were great. They went in the wrong direction with the other Punk goes series.

  • Comment removed

  • what I don't get about the whole "Punk Goes" series is that few of the songs are even remotely punk

  • @tkkva cause the bands that play them are punk, not the song

  • @tkkva - Should it matter if it's "punk" or not, if the lyrics are thoughtful and they put their energy into it?

  • i like acoustic punk, i just dont like how they think they have to slow it down

  • @Zombi3Biscuit - Yea, I get that. The normal version has so much energy. But, you can always just play it yourself, just faster! That's what I'm doing. Took about three seconds to learn.

  • @Zombi3Biscuit listen to Beng Beng Cocktail

  • @Zombi3Biscuit I guess, but in this case I think it sounds fantastic.

  • Incredible Song.

    Pure Heartfelt Genius.

  • "...Punk goes acoustic..."?

    Uhhh...No...

  • Strike anywhere is melodic punk but this song is diefferent :)

  • pop punk is in NO WAY restricted to the mainstream. theres plenty of "raw" pop punk bands with a style more rooted in hardcore punk.

  • do you ever listen to a song and think to yourself "this song is so amazing, im never going to get sick of this song. replay replay replay" ...

in a few weeks/months/years that will happen with this song, but im still at the first stage :)

  • green day haven't sold out, listen to the lyrics in the new album, you can't judge just on sound, it's about the meaning. i'll agree old albums are better, but there is still meaning in the new ones, take the time to listen, they're written not to be popular but to make a point.

  • @TheMegaGinge theyre hypocrites, look they have a broadway show how is that not selling out?

  • @XianisRoxify dude, if you were in a band and someone said they wanted to make a broadway show out of YOUR album that YOU wrote im pretty sure youd say yes. It would be very flattering to me.

  • @jc4you The question is, would you do it for free, or milk it for a shit ton of money like Green Day has? Don't get me wrong, I love Green Day, but that is definitely selling out.

  • @Theginger22790

i'm pretty sure most people in their situation wouldn't have done it for free. and you can't say you would because you arn't in the same situation as greenday have been in.

  • @Theginger22790 No, that's called making a living. It's called a fucking job jackass. Get out of your mom's basement.

  • @rorschach775 My mom doesn't have a basement, unfortunately for her.

  • First off greenday is Alternative Punk just like this band. Also greenday didnt sell out they changed producers. Jerry finn produced all there good albums but hasnt produced the last few. Hes the best i swear every CD hes ever mixed or produced is amazing and if you dont know who he is look him and producton history! Fer sure the true GOD of alternative punk-RIP

  • @seabolt007 Green Day is "pop punk" they were part of the massive 90's push that brought about bands like Blink 90210 and Cum 41. There's nothing alternative about it, it's the mainstream part of punk.

As for Jerry Finn I don't agree. Out of the list of albums he's mixed I like maybe 2 at a push. I like "Hitler Bad, Vandals Good" and at a push I like "Out Come The Wolves...."

Personally I preferred Kerplunk as a Green Day album. Punk is meant to be raw. Jerry Finn made overproduced poppy punk.

  • @NeisanKitsune are you trying to tell me that illrepute, pennywise, mxpx, the offspring, the living end, tiger army, bad religion and jawbreaker are pop punk? and turn on any alternative punk station and see how quickly one of the bands you mention come up. just because his "pop punk" became most famous doesnt mean thats all he produced. and all his music sounds just as produced as this song currently playing. so know more about him before you right him off

  • guitar = no use for a name justified black eye

  • @hotchiken06 It's not even close to the progression in NUFAN's Justified Black Eye. My band covered that song for years. More importantly, this progression has been used at least once by every punk band that ever existed, so your point is moot.

  • team acoustic! ♥

  • I'm luvin' the punk goes acoustic songs. They're on my playlist :))

  • This song is beautiful! why do we have to label and ruin good music? if you like it listen to it, if not go away!

  • i used to play that song when i was falling asleep :)

  • this is n0t punk this is bullshits emo of shit

  • @theundone1 Shut up u fückin nerd no one likes you get out of youtube you english nerdy fag or whatver yoi are i know your an idiot all acting smart theyve been talking to you street wize and you dont under satand cuz you a bookwize kind of guy heres a normal one for you, shut up you dont know music peaple hate you if you dont like video you no watch video ook, stupid

  • apparently social distortion doesnt count anymore :o

  • This song is absolute beauty. Strike Anywhere is wonderful. Again I say, if you don't like the song or the band just don't watch the video!

  • hey hey!! its simple.... just go back and check history...... greednday was a flop band.... they changed their looks into punk..... which maid them gain success..... in short: to sell records they sold themselves and who they were!!

  • Yes,Green Day was the first. And stop saying mean things you morons

  • @DimitrijeRockFan Hahahahahahahahahahahahah no they weren't, and even though some of their old stuff is good, their new stuff is shit. Complete shit.

  • @DimitrijeRockFan dude really\ u cant be real ur just way to fucking dumb to live

  • I can't express how much it means to have a great band like this writing an amazing pro-feminist song. anyone who says a man can't be be a feminist is an idiot. while they can never know what it's like to be afraid to go out alone at night, every bit of support counts and gives me a bit of hope.

My one wish is that I will never have to instil in my daughter the fears which have been instilled in me in order to keep her safe. maybe someday...

  • @lexpistols So true. To quote another awesome punk band, Anti-Flag, "Feminism is for EVERYBODY with a beating heart and a functioning brain."

Best to you & your daughter.

  • ugh....this is sad, and this is also why we cant have nice things.

fuck greenday and fuck strike anywhere for this bullshit and fuck "Punk" goes blah blah blah.

cant say im surprised after Iron Front though, i mean how do you top Dead FM??

going to go see them in Richmond(Their hometown) on the 27th for the second time so eat a huge black cock.

inb4 hhuuurrrr ddduuuurrrr faggot blah blah blah

  • great tune.

  • ¿Quién habrá postiado este video?

  • the lyrics in the description aren't correct.

  • @thelazerviking1 Uh yeah this is a strike anywhere song, Whoever told you otherwise is mistaken.

  • @theundone1 you are a foool, greenday is far more punk than half the bands on this album.... and the second album,,,, even now.... just becuase there making more money doesnt mean there less punk. there still bad ass as fuck.

  • @all of you morons

Arguing on the internet is a lot like the special olympics.

You may win, but you're still retarded.

    So shut the hell up.

  • @sapiensgirl good one, lets argue?

  • @sapiensgirl

    Lol!

  • Comment removed

  • hmm,I could've sworn this is actually a Strike Anywhere song/video and not a Green Day one but all I seem to be seeing is comments about Green Day :P

  • Like this song! (:

  • Greenday are not sell outs...Their getting older so their making more adult sounding songs. If you want to call them washed up that makes more sense. So yes their not making songs that speak to 16 year olds probably due to the fact they are double that in age!

  • who cares? if you like green day you like green day. if you don't, you don't. it's that simple.

that being said, strike anywhere is amazing, and so is this song

  • Why r ppl comparing Strike Anywhere to Green day, compare StikeAnywhere follows after Strung out Pennywise Bad religion, different in their styles but all spreading the same culture.

While green day follow Britney Spears and Good Charlotte, different in their style but all pursue the same objective ripping your pockets and make you stupid with their cliche lines. Saying one thing doin another.

  • Good but not Punk...

Punk is The Sex Pistol's, The Ramones, and The Dead Kennedys.

  • @dylanshay2006 why is everyone so obsessed with labelsing everything, instead of just hearing the music?

  • @JordanFrerichs well, it's not that i don't like it, it's just not like punk used to be and thats what i would like to hear more of... Alot of posers listen to this and think they know punk.

  • @dylanshay2006 Strike Anywhere are more anarchist then all 3 of them combined. And the Sex Pistol's punk? Do some research into them, they were about as pre produced and packaged as Good Charlotte and the like. Gimmie some Exploited, TSOL, or DOA.. Strike Anywhere follow that path more then the bands you listed (and I have no problems with the Ramones or DK)

  • @bullhunda well i can't say i don't agree with you about Strike Anywhere, did you ever get into Fear?...

  • he cant stay on one key.. he is only a good vocalist no singer

  • punk pop whatever blah.. rock alternative is how to best catorgize this and greenday noobs.. lol

  • successful troll is successful xD

  • good song

  • rules! <3

  • you think green day was the first punk band to do something acoustic?? REALLY? How old are you? If your really young I understand having the wrong impression. If your not young then maybe you might start trying to listen more than you talk/type

  • @thebleeding they were pop punk, they will never be labeled real punk by real human beings. only children

  • @thebleeding yeh listen to johnny thunders

  • @thebleeding itwas probably the violent femmes right?

  • @thebleeding Greeday was never punk, they were alternitive.

  • Comment removed

  • @catbomb1 then you, sir, have never listened to anything before their latest album. they most definitely are punk

  • @zachishify greenday copiers ?? dude greenday is even more old then this band rofl !!!! epic fail XD

  • @zachishify Green day aren't even punk anymore they are sellouts

  • Agree

  • @theundone1 Yes!! Very much so!!!! Strike Anywhere will always own!!

  • @theundone1 uhhh when WERE they punk?

  • @rrch88 First few albums

  • @theundone1 their lyrics aren't those of sellouts, probably more rock than punk rock now though

  • @guypineapple

    No, they're fucking sellouts.

I miss the good old days when Green Day was good...

  • @theundone1 You're a sellout for calling Green Day sellouts, hopping on the bandwagon with every other ignorant talentless elitist adolescent who thinks he knows what he's talking about. 'Cause only the bands that are unknown and make no money are good, right?

While you're crying in your mom's basement about how bands like Green Day are sellouts, they've gone 60+ times platinum over a 20+ year career.

Dont get mad just cause you've got no knack for songwriting

  • @markfryer87 they got really popular and went mainstream with more child fans than before. their new fan base suggests either simple lyrics or decline in songwriting quality, so it's possible they compromised artistic expression in favour of wider appeal for profit. that sounds like selling out to me.

  • @clamantuanguyan "Suggests this", "it's possible that"... They got popular and went mainstream in 94, when they got their first 8 platinum records. American Idiot was simply the first record able to surpass that. They didn't try to get younger fans or go mainstream. They tried to write a good record, like they always do. And now everyone wants to hate cause they succeeded? Lmao whatever. Keep hating and see where it gets you. All of you seem to be misinformed as to what "selling out" really is

  • @markfryer87 yeah, you got me. i use words like "suggests," and "possible," because i'm not going to label them sellouts without even listening to their music to see for myself if there was a decline in quality. but i'm not misinformed as to what selling out is; i just wanted to hear an informed argument.

  • Comment removed

  • @clamantuanguyan So you're one of those people who comes on youtube and argues for the sake of arguing, even though you blatantly admit you're ignorant to the subject you're arguing about? lol This is where I stop talking to fools, lest I be confused for one myself.

  • @markfryer87 i see it took you a few minutes on that one. props on quickly removing your comment.

i emphasize that i wanted to "hear" an informed argument, as there wasn't evidence of one. how am i one who "argues for the sake of arguing," when that discussion has ended and i'm no longer arguing about it?

  • @markfryer87 Yeah that's totally what I do. I'm not going to start an argument with an arrogant person so go away now.

  • @theundone1 I don't really think they "Sold out" as much as they just grew up. Although some songs still have Punk elements, I think they've kind of grew into "Hard Rock or Alternative", but I think Alternative best suits Green Day from 1,039 too 21st.

  • @theundone1 my mom is a sellout & you fail btw

  • @jacob112291 If I fail I wouldn't have 35 Thumbs up. In no way will Green Day ever compare to Strike Anywhere anyways. No go have a life and stop responding to old youtube comments. Goodbye now.

  • @theundone1 lol..... i agree, strike anywhere is untouchable by greenday,, an in no way do i like greed day, BUT they arnt exactly sell outs.

  • @theundone1 well this isn't punk either, none of these songs are. wananbe

  • @Snight101 I'm sorry I'm not as "punk" as you are buddy.

  • @theundone1 Don't make ur orginal comment if you're a retard bro, thnx.

  • @Snight101 That response made no sense at all?

  • @theundone1 or maybe you couldn't comprehend it.

  • @Snight101 Or it could be because you can't use proper grammar. I'm do not argue with autistic people. Goodbye.

  • @theundone1 "I'm do not" fucking hell...you insult yourself.

  • @Snight101 I had one typo, you massacred the English language.

  • @theundone1 how so? Just throw up ur arms and admit you're a fucking tool. Thnx!

  • @Snight101 You are so unintelligent I'm going to go away while you keep replying with petty insults instead of actual logic

  • @theundone1 Lol are you copying these replies from google? Give me answers, why am I unintelligent, how am i not using logic? Your replies have no relevance to anything I've said. Lol you're fucking retarded instead of trying to sound smarter than you actually are why dont you simply try to hold a conversation.

  • @Snight101 Again, I'm going to go away while you keep responding to make yourself feel complete. Now good day.

  • @theundone1 But you're doing exactly what I'm doing so no need to attempt to stand on a higher moral ground bud.

  • @theundone1 you're perhaps the biggest chode ever. go get a life you sellout, conformist, poser, dickbag

  • @MrBigmansam Sure I am, I'm going to go back to my life while you go back to trying to start youtube fights. Goodbye moron.

  • @theundone1 So is good charlotte..

  • @theundone1 Fuck you

  • @theundone1 Stop trying to be an elitist internet "Punk". If you truly know all about the 'selling out' era try me. You will not find someone who knows more about what happened than me.

  • @AudibleJoes Selling out isn't only for punk music. I don't even give a fuck anymore. Go be arrogant somewhere else.

  • @theundone1 I never said it had to be? You were the one who said they aren't Punk anymore..That surely implies that they were in the past.

Your the one who goes posting shit like that about bands under completely irrelevant videos dipshit..

  • @theundone1 They never were punk

  • @theundone1

They were never punk. They were more pop punk (which is a sub-genre that I kinda like so I don't really care). Their new stuff sucks though.

  • @QWERTYCommander Honestly I posted that comment so long ago when I was like militant about punk. I really wish I wouldn't have. I think the true definition of punk isn't the sound of the music but something a kid can relate to. After all it's a genre of music founded by outcast kids from broken homes. Who am I to say what's punk and isn't punk. Now I think it's up to the listener to decide what they think is punk and isn't.

  • @theundone1 so is Blink, GC, etc.

  • so you think, talking about punk, greenday owns strike anywhere???dumbass,i used to think that to,when i was 11,but at least,i knew greenday is rock, not punk, greenday is mainstream, that doesnt have to be bad,but it is if stupid kids like you are saying there better punk than real punks, although greendays ideas are punk, but the music fuckin isn't, so don't try to be smart, cool or a punk whatever you try to reach or be with talking this shit

  • it's on an album called "Punk Goes Acoustic"! :S

  • @zachishify Green Day is not punk. Maybe at one time they were, but now they are mainstream commercial punk, AKA wannabe punk. And they were CERTAINLY NOT the first band to do punk acoustic. And I'd like to see you produce something better than this. Now, grow up, and learn something about music.

  • @thekillconnection okay, that was 9 months ago i said that. I've only been playing for less than one year, and i lead a worship band, and play guitar for another one. one with about 200, and the other church has almost 2,000. so i think ive done pretty well, if i do say so myself. all self taught. its not my fault i think they stink. its just not my style of music. if you cant accept that, maybe you need to grow up.

  • strike anywhere<33333333333

  • Fuck I must be getting old....This song brings back memories!!!

  • Yeah I know how you feel I remember listening to this song when "Change is a sound" first came out

  • We're all getting old :)

    Dope track, pher sher.

  • ohh yes ;)

  • 11 dec @ Hof Ter Lo

Strike Anywhere is the best band in the world!

  • Fsck you, n00b. Emo = resignation. Strike Anywhere are all about fighting the causes of the despair they're singing about here. Actually listen to the lyrics. "Walk alone on the street tonight and fear nothing. Choose to let what we are in this life shine brighter. Don't let the crosses and dollar signs, symbols of man unkind, make you feel that you're not real all this time - walk out of the shadows" - that's the chorus, how is that emo? "Reverse the hypocrisy, challenge the stakes"

  • "Watch us grow up to war no more"

  • old song, awesome one too :)

  • Yeah.. Amazing song.. The 1st song I've heard of them :]] Just .. AMAZING!!!

  • I like this one better than the original ^_^

  • never!

  • yes. it's not bad. I wouldn't say it's better because the difference is to large.

I think the chorus here is much better

  • agreed (y)

  • theres a section missing in the lyrics

  • soo damn amazing song !

    LOVE IT

  • omg i love this. it´s so wunderfull.

  • very wunderful

  • I think this is a good song and stuff but they sound quite out of tune when they sing in parts lol x

  • at least they don't need robots to make them sound good. plus you know they sound the same live.

  • yerah i know i wasnt dissing it, i was just saying lol

  • cool beans :)

  • just saw them yesterday live...they are amazing live they played this in the normal version though it was awesome

  • Fuck you Cavs. Haha

You lucky son of a bitch Strike Anywhere is my favorite band and I wanna see 'em live so bad D:

  • haha dude ive been waiting so long to see them...like two years...i had to drive to detroit just to see them...haha if they dont come to your state just drive to the closest state to your state...and they are my fav band too

  • Was that this year with Propagandhi or 07 with The Loved Ones. I probably saw you.

  • this year with propagandhi at the magic stick in detroit

  • beautiful.

  • irraaado

  • very nice i was gonna post this today but you beat me to it =)
