Ok.. I got to say this dude is a PRO. If you re-watch the video, you will see how he had full control of that saw - played it like a violin. No safety equipment needed. Why - most idiots with chaps and full safety gear would have hit the dirt and dulled the chain. Did anyone notice that he let the weight of the log finish the cut? Well done!
Nice saw. Not wearing hearing protection kicks ass because you can hear the tree cracking. I'd rather have hearing damage than get rolled over by a 300# log. Some people are just envious about the size of their guide bars, ya know?
@brrrlak Maybe you do and maybe you don't, Michael Moore. I'm sure you've done something in your life that will increase your healthcare costs in some way. That's why third-party payment for healthcare should be done away with, so you this guy can keep cutting up wood in a way that's safe for him, and you can keep increasing your risk of colon cancer by having sex with men.
Gotta love the 066/660! They are great right out of the box. The 650 isn't too bad either. That oak looks like what we call "post oak" around here which is a type of white oak.
Nice saw, nice cutting, thanks for posting! I look at a log like that and see some awesome clear lumber, bar tops, wide plank flooring, posts and beam, etc., unless I'm mistaken. I admit it's fun to cut a big straight log into blocks though. Thanks for showing us your saw!

@Mitch95100 Mitch you must be one of those guys that look like Darth Vador with shoulder pads on when you break out your Homelite out of you garage once a year to prune your fruit tree.
@ircr450 Guy that uses his saw only once a year NEEDS to dress like Darth Vader. Seriously though I cut with chainsaws since the '60's. I never cut myself but managed to grab the right pant-leg 3 times in the last couple of years, all at the end of day when I was tired. I started wearing chaps (Stihl camo) recently along with plugs, safety glasses and boots as always. Hey, we thought handguard-chainbrakes were just in-the-way early on, I appreciate them now.. Man, that saw does sound right!
Even with a relatively quiet saw, you really want hearing protection. With that beast, even more so, presuming you want to be able to hear speech & music.
Why "noodle" rounds like that all the way through, except to show off? One swat with a maul- no waste in chips.
That saw sounds evil. It cuts that oak like a hot knife through butter. I wouldn't want to be on the business end of that saw if it kicksback. It could get real nasty.
