Another thing you can do is say... Okay watch while I vanish this quarter, then you vanish the pen. You look stunned and say Oh okay uh... wait.. Okay this could work and then if you have TKO from most magic shops and say Okay, let's first get the pen back and then vanish the quarter and then you can turn to show the pen on your ear for a little joke. :)

another thing you can do with this trick is this:

1. do the same thing with the pen to start with (putting it in your ear) but hold the quarter in a fist, so that the audience can't see it, but know it's there.

2. show them where the pen is, but when you do this, turn around and when they're focusing on the pen, put the quarter in your pocket.

3. do the same thing, but don't make the pen disappear. Instead, open your fist and the quarter is gone!

your ear. as you reach to grab it, secretly put the pen lid behind your ear as you take the pen out, do the trick again only act as though you have vanished the lid. act astonished but eventually they will guess its behind ur ear, so u just casually say, "verry good but while watching the lid, wat happened to the pen... which is now up ur sleeve.. enjoy =)

or show them you put the pen behind your ear and at the same time secretly pocket the coin. then take the pen out from behind your ear, pretending to still have the coin in your closed fist. tap your fist three times and the coin disappears!
