  • can u tell me witch part hold the song? :S

  • @111jeni111

The black part on the board holds the little chip which has the program info as well as the song file. There is no way to digitally copy this audio file other than thru the audio out as of this point but you never know there might someday be a way. there are better ways to get that clip like from an mp3 of that song and use it as your ringtone.

  • I have a board from a talking GI Joe that I am going to play throw my stereo XD

  • @force311999

Make a video of that and upload it. Do playback thru the stereo and then at the end do a direct hookup to the video. Like record the chip's audio by the speaker out to a wav file and then put that wav at the end of the vid.

  • Whats the point?

  • @Nirvalica

I dunno, to make another vid. I've seen other doing it so why not.

  • @coondogtheman1234 Oh, ok. Jw cause its not like the audio quality is good at all. I just didn't see any benefit, but I guess there wasn't really one besides just doing it.

  • @Nirvalica

The audio quality isnt that great but its fantastic for a chip device. Remember when audio on chips first came out? the sound was horrible. Tiger electronics/Hasbro Should have used this technology in their hitclips players.

  • @coondogtheman1234 Well whats the difference between a "chip" device and something like an ipod?

  • @Nirvalica

This is a chip device and not an iPod. This has a simple program and audio file built in and all it does it play back a clip of a song when power is applied. There is no play button. This uses a 16khz sample rate and sounds very good for a chip.

  • @coondogtheman1234 I know it's not an ipod, but its basically the same thing with this on a smaller scale.

  • @Nirvalica

Exactly it's just simplified. it's a tiny computer that plays an audio file.

  • @jaybee15100

"All Star" By Smash Mouth. See description.

  • i would do girs voice saying thank you.... i love you... on the chip and put in card

  • @MyShadowninja

you could if you could reprogram the chip but it's a masked COB (Chip on board) ROM (Read Only Memory) type chip and it cannot be reprogrammed. HOWEVER you can buy recordable hallmark cards that let you record your own voice on them. I have one but I think it needs batteries but I might just wire a AAA battery holder when I can determine if 3 AAA batteries are OK on it.

  • Comment removed

  • @human596

True but I was only wondering if it was possible to get the actual audio file. and why did you remove your comment?

  • @coondogtheman1234

    Oh ahah thats smart xD Ohh lol i was looking down the comments and thought maybe I was thinking you were doing something different than i thot so i deleted it ^^;

  • @coondogtheman1234 basically i thot i was being just a lil stupid xD

  • If you turned the Line in volume down, it would be much more clear

  • @abeemanator

I can't turn that down as the chip only has 1 volume level. but maybe an inline volume control might work.

  • @coondogtheman1234 u may wire a resister inbetween the two contact points

  • @Tagard1995

it is actually my camera's mic it is very sensitive to sound.

  • Six words. Ferrite Rod Antenna Next To Speaker.

  • @Amishman35 Time mark that.

  • @coondogtheman1234 What I meant is that you can use a ferrite rod antenna next to the speaker to rip the audio from the device without having to open it up. Just hook it to the Mic In of your sound card and hold it next to the speaker of the device whose sound you wish to rip.

  • @Amishman35

I've hels an AM radio near chips like this and they emit staticy sound across the AM band but only if it's right near the radio. what I usually do is connect a custom made patch cord to the speaker connections and then plug the other end into my line in on my computer. the rig is 2 alligator clips wired to a headphone cable. ground to ground and signal to the red lead.

  • @coondogtheman1234 Your method is better in the respect that you get less interference, but if you're not allowed to open the device (i.e. it's your friends dead father's card) mine works better.

  • @Amishman35

True, you could also get one of those devices that hooks to a telephone earpiece and you can record phone calls. basically anything that can pick up the RF signal given off by the speaker. i.e. your method. you could maybe use that at other places where you are not allowed to get at the speaker terminals.

  • wtf is that?

  • @MATUXAZ

It's the guts of a singing greeting card.

  • no haking here he just sends the audio from the pc to the speaker using the audio out.

  • yeah I know I didnt hack it but I love tinkering with stuff.

  • ive done some stuff like this that i havent uploaded i think ill get around to doing that today now that i remembered lol.

  • go for it , upload the stuff id love to see it.

  • I heard no clip

  • thats because I decided not to put it at the end for reason of copyright, youtube has really cracked down on that, you cant post anything on here that wont get flagged for something. ive seen videos that only have talking in them no music and WMG muted the audio.

  • awesome..

  • thanks.

  • video doesnt work...

  • try refreshing it and if that doesnt work then update your flash and java.

  • wy would you do that?

  • Because I like hacking electronic stuff, and making it to things they normally cant do

  • hey dud that was rad!!!! kudos!!!! i wanna do that but idk what cables are those you used to connect the chip to the pc and how you did it??

  • the alligaroe clips that you see are wired to a custom made patch cord that I made from 2 jumper wires and an old stereo headphones cord.

  • cool,but the sound sucks...

  • what do you expect its a chip and its bottlenecked thru my camera's mic its gonna sound like shit, i was gonna put a clip of audio direct recorded from the chip but i didnt due to YT's copyright shit

  • dude this ruled, i cant believe you thought this up

  • thanks, glad you liked it feel free to watch my other videos and comment on them as well

  • haha, np

but yeah i watched some other ones, didnt feel like comenting cus it always makes you enter a freakin code after a cirtain amount of comments, very very annoying

  • oh you mean the captchas? yeah i hate those but today i was lucky i only put one in and i was on youtube and my email for like 5 hours today, mostly b/c i dont think youtube makes you put in a captcha when your commenting in your own videos but i may be wrong

  • yeah, i just had to put one in to reply to you, its really a hassle when commenting but youtube knows they can pretty much make their website as shity as possible and people will still stay there

  • yeah i think like every 3-4 comments you have to type the captcha but they r there to stop spam but theres still spam on here

  • wait wait wait so can i get one of these things and hack it to make an ipod speaker

  • i dunno maybe, but the audio amp for this thing is integrated into the chip so i dont think theres a way to hack it into an amp but you can use the speaker and another amp like a small project amp or something and then just glue it to where this chip was, this chip is only an audio playback device the data for the audio is on the Read only memory chip on board that black blob and no way to directly rip the audio other than by recording the output from the speaker leads

  • not hacking ur just use it like a speaker thats not hacking

  • thats what hacking is,making things vulnerable for other uses.

  • it was me

  • Thanks for rating did you like the vid

  • yea

  • Hey, nice! I was only using what I had available to play mine. Really, I don't normally know much about how to wire things together and make them work the way they're supposed to. Nice video, by the way, I'll check out your other ones.

  • I changed the speaker on this thing the speaker you see in the video is not the original one that one is from a toy shotgun that my friend had and i asked him if i could have the speaker and he said you can have the whole gun but i only wanted the chip and speaker, ill do another speaker testing video as i got more speakers to test but i need an external HD first low on space on my computer
