When the idolaters had control of Mecca they used to place their idols inside and pray to them, but when Islam spread they were all taken out, for the religion of Abraham (pbuh) is that of monotheism, we bow not to idols. The Kaba marks the direction of which all muslims pray, in unity.

So if you go inside you can pray any direction, cause your in it! and really,.theres no point haha In the past before the prophet Muhammad peace be upon there were statues and idols kept inside but they were removed once Muhammad (pbuh) took it back
