Went to the 2010 Mackville Nationals and this crapy durmax came out to start the show. Piece of crap died before it ever got going. The next truck was a cummins It hauled ass down the track very impressive.
I did not add any weight. My duramax stayed the same for both hooks. I drove the truck to the pull and back home. I didn't have anywhere to hide or store weight, so what I had was on the truck.
if i herd the story correctly there was a pull off between the white dodge and sliver d-max. now if my facts are straight the dmax added extra weight. smart move but i believe the dodge pound for pound still would have won.

Quite the opposite happened this year at my local diesel pull. IIRC, at the pro diesel challenge at OBX Speedway in NC, Powerstrokes took first, second, and forth in the sled pulling. Then Duramaxes took up the rest of the top 10.

them duramax v8 diesels lack the low end like the cummins, but they get it up in the mid, they can keep the power up. v8 diesels are really junk, but i love the duramax.
@bigdog5986 Its an awesome track. Never been to another one where they pull into the field. They get it set right where you need to pull into the field to make the pull-offs, then they add the extra weight so they stay on the track. Its pretty sweet when they have beans planted and as soon as they hit the field the trucks sink and they kick up a ton of dust. Its pretty cool to watch.
im not a fan of the single stack, eccspecially the ones that come outta the hoods like the dodges had. i like me some dual 8in flat top stacks. thats just me tho...

they have lousy transmissions and just cheaply made as far as other crap goes I had one for a while (2500) other crap unless you get a manual transmission
