小学生の時、宇宙戦艦大和の存在を知ってから、

ほんとに戦艦大和があったのを知ったんだけど、

第二次世界大戦で沈没させられたことを知ってショックでした。

それにしても、真っ二つに・・見るも無残な姿を海底に晒している­んですね。

なんか、むなしくも悲しい。

Did she break up going down or when she hit bottom? She must have been going pretty fast to break like that once she did hit. Great model BTW. One of my favorite ships. One of the IJN true Gems.

@3shacks1house Those were internal explosions including the one that ripped the ship in half. Look at the holes in the side near the bow.  The metal goes outward. The US planes couldn't cary bombs that would have caused explosions that large.

The men on the Yamato knew they were on a suicide mission and they did their duty anyway. Enemy or not they deserve respect.

ベースはタミヤ1/350戦艦大和です

この海底の大和の状況を見た時、これが現実なんだなと思いました

この時の探査より15年ほど前に行われた最初の探査で再現された

海底の大和の状況とは全く違っています（あれはなんだったんだろ­う．．）

In this sunken model of the Yamato, are the two bow pieces actually that close to each other in reality? or were they put so close together in this diorama so that they would actually fit into the box?

I was under the impression that the bow section was a significantly more distance from the rest of the ship.
