those guides should have tried to grab the client's PFD to pull them out, would have been tricky but they could have tried. just yanking on their arm like that would have posed a serious dislocation risk to their shoulder. mind you good on them for getting the client out and onto a rock I would rather have a dislocated shoulder than drown.
