The focus on sincere loving intentions is the key to open the heart. I do not believe it can work without being channeled through the heart. Once the heart is open, the rest comes naturally easy. :)

Very powerful exercise when brought about in oneself. Doing this outside with no expectations really does create an opening of love, and a feeling of love and understanding toward oneself and others. The method she has described is definitely effective in those who are ready to open beyond ego-striving and self-centeredness
