i'm in th arts as a teen there were unscupolous photagraphers" As a young woman I sang and acted in plays-ran into a few "producers" the entertainment industry is indeed full if shisters and low lifes... thank god I
Had someone in my corner looking out for me...and a good head on my shoulders
Good for Lora for standing up for herself. I like the scene between Steve and Annie and you can see at the end of this clip that Lora truly does depend on Annie for friendship and not just as a live-in nanny/housekeeper. No matter how it started out they loved and needed each other!!
There is no way in hell I would sleep with someone to get to the top. I used to be a back up singer ( for someone i wont mention ) he offered to help me get a record deal if I slept with him and then asked if he could kiss me. I told him " Hell No. " and I also said " if I'm gonna get a record deal it would be the right way and not whoring it up " I finished out my contract with him for the back up and after that I left and never looked back. What an ass he was. As if, I would be his whore
@BiracialGirl1977 -I agree, good job on ur part! what was portrayed N this movie is actually-SUTTLE RAPE-by trying 2 put a woman N a compremising circumstances with sex, in order 4 her 2 gain her success
@expos73 they look so much alike. i found out that allen was in the army and was stationed in korea after the korean war. so ironic that he ended up playing the part of a korean war soldier
Wow, the things some white actress had to do in those days to get a gig. As iconic as Marilyn Monroe was in her hay days of her career, she was subjected to the same solicitation. Truly makes you think.
This is a great movie! Made in 1959 it was years ahead of it's time in dealing with issues like racism. A very fine film. I'm glad it's posted to Youtube!
@shalayneG , as a young boy we went to the Rialto in Sinton , Tx. and saw this classic movie . The gilrs all cried at the last scene . We boys tried and acted like we had something in our eyes to try to hide the tears . Pure raw emotional movie that is a classic . It will always be enbedded in my mind . Semper Fidelis .
