For this to work it ,MUST be stereo and the vocals have to be the same level to reduce them.

That was easy to do, but it seems the file I have has the chorus on a different frequency than the rest of the song, so the normal verses are removed, but the chorus isn't. I'm trying to record a parody song. Any idea how to fix this?

Stereo files allow the speakers be controlled by two channels left and right, which can product good effects.

mono files dont allow the same characteristics, it only uses one channel.

You need stereo files, for this to work

@mishy445 What you are saying is that when you play the song you hear the instrumental then you hear the voices? Probably because the instrumentals is blended in with the song's chorus.

ok you need to put the first track in and the check the EXACT time where you want the second track to start. then you need to add silence by going to edit and clicking add silence. and yeah thats it. OOOHH and each 1000 resembles one second

ok I have both audacity and Wavepad. In audacity I have an mp3 that says it's stereo but I tried removing the vocals and it removed everything. I then tried using Wave pad and it did the same thing...and the two bars arent at the bottom...so is it really a mono file that says it's stereo in audacity? is there a way to remove/reduce the vocals?
