Such a powerful short. Thank you for filming and posting this. This guy is John Ratliff aka Swan. There is a short documentary of him on YouTube by a man who was a news reporter with him in Springfield IL before John was lost to schizophrenia and became The Pigeon Whisperer in San Francisco. Those videos are "Schizophrenia Part 1" and "Schizophrenia Part 2" by garywolfe99.
I'd love to see more of your work. Are you still doing videos?
I am so grateful there are ther people like this in the world. I unfortunately am also very familiar with thread foot. Please use caution when discarding any type of string or thread, fishing line and believe it or not, human hair are the leading cause of bird foot deformities. The thread wraps around their feet cutting of blood supply leading to loss of toes and limbs and eventually a slow painful death. Be kind to the all of creatures on this planet, big or small, every life should be valued.
GOOD MAN ..I WISH THERE MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM ...he looks like homeless guy, that i would love to buy him beer anytime..he was cleaning the cut and puting medicine to heal it..
Because pigeons spend so much time walking on the ground, they tend to get string, thread, or hair tangled up in their toes. As time goes on, the string or hair gets tighter and tighter, cutting off circulation. The birds wind up with horrible injuries to their feet, often losing toes or even the entire foot. This kind man was helping the bird by removing the thread.

So this is where Pigeon Man from Hey Arnold went! :)
This man is a hero. Kind people like him who help simple creatures are the ones who give me hope. There are good people out there.

how does this only have 700 or so views? It's one of the best videos I've ever seen.
