  • Use real fingers or I ain't buyin

  • I want to see the real thing!

  • Yeah, but I don't want the government telling me that I must use this new device. If I want to smoke, drive without a seat belt, ride a motorcycle without a helmet and keep my guns unlocked so that my boys can play with them, it's MY BUSINESS!!!!!

Fat, angry, white Tea Party Man

  • @fbharris67

this was on the colbert report last night.

  • When Jigsaw catches me and straps me into one of his traps and I wake up and saw blades are rolling towards me, let's hope he used these saws and I can walk away calling him a noob.

  • What happens if your wood is slightly wet?

  • So if you happen to cut you fingers up often on you table saw... Stock up in blades, and band aids.

  • they make it sound like its gonna fuck my saw up

  • our woodshop class has one

  • STILL CRINGING!

  • Try it with fingers. Or at least something similar.

I'm assuming not many people cut wood with their dicks. Or at least not since the late 1800's when they found out it wasn't very efficient.

  • Really cool!

  • try it with your finger... it just might not like hot dogs =P

  • The wonders of science...

  • That's awesome.

  • would it work if the hot dog was in a bun? or what if i was wearing work gloves?you know what i think i will just be extra carefull and concerntrait when i am working with a saw...........i work in an ice cream shop we got one flavour, its leather brogue flavour

  • ...id want to test it with my finger

  • Simply amazing.

  • So I won't get my wiener sawed off even if I try?? Thats a relief

  • awesome.. whey arent these everywhere?

  • Why didn't you use a real finger I know some construction works that would buy them if you did. There argument is that your not confident enough to try then why would they be

  • @carnyclyde

they didn't use a real finger because injury potential still exists, however loosing a finger is pretty much impossible, you'll get a cut at worst, id rather have a cut than loose a finger.

  • Haha there is more than just a doctor bill to consider. When you loose a finger it doesn't grow back! This saw is changing lives. Awesome!

  • So it's basically just an ELCB...?

  • it looked like it popped

  • 70 dollars is cheap when you consider how much it would have cost if the saw didn't stop. You'd have doctor bill and then Physical therapy not to mention the pain and missing work. Even with insurance by the time you paid all your co-pays you'd probably still pay more than $70.

  • Amazing feature for sure. I always approach my table saw with great respect and exaggerated, slow hand movements.

  • They better not throw away that hotdog!

  • thats puritty sweet

  • wtf nice job!!!

  • He did try it with his own (soaked) finger: watch?v=E3mzhvMgrLE

  • mommy, im scared

  • well this is it cheaper to get a new finger , than a new saw ?

  • I think you can shut the feature off?

  • Comment removed

  • @LoneHerper xDDDDD

  • somebody stop him, he thinks my dick is a hotdog! call a medic!

  • do it with a finger then pussy

  • you know, if that thing is so safe, why not test it on...your own hand?!

  • just what I needed, a seatbelt for my saw.

  • What if the wood is slightly damp?

  • so, if a hot dog will absorb the electric charge and activate the safety brake (which effectively ruins the saw), why wouldn't a moist piece of lumber do the same?

pressure treated wood is often very moist with chromated copper arsenate preservative

  • Amazing.

  • which will never deviate from the parallel.

This portable light weight technology cuts sheet material to 4ft. on center requiring no large

permanently mounted side or out-feed extension tables

World wide there are hundreds of thousands of table saws with the old dangerous technology out there. Sawstop at

this time cannot retro-fit these saws. Buy new not necessarily, retro-fit available yes, but don't be

complacent and keep your wits about ye

  • if that thing is broken you can kill your self never get one of those things

  • as opposed to...a non-retracting saw?

so, something designed to protect you that didnt work is far more dangerous than something without the safety feature in the first place?

  • still cuts your finger, just wont cut it off.

  • Put the cock there and see if it stops :) I would do it. :D Haha

  • This fucking sucks, how am I supposed to cut my hot dogs now?

  • LOOOOOL

  • @SqueeksoAo BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! So true...

  • @SqueeksoAo Cutting hot dogs is just retarded. I know you're joking, but it's not funny. Knifes exist for some reason.

  • @Cyborg290 You must be a real joy to be around.

  • @SqueeksoAo /watch?v=0MRmxfLuNto&annotation_id=annotation_524589&feature=iv

Put it after youtube.com. That explains what I'm saying.

  • @Cyborg290 I'll just assume it's a video of some guy watching a parade, then shitting all over it.

  • @SqueeksoAo omg lol!!!

  • really??

  • omg obviously lying otherwise you couldn't have said that, durrr.

  • Would it cut through bone? Or just stop?

  • would nick the skin thats it

  • and about wet wood?

  • it has a bypass. u just turn off the safety thing and then it wont do that.

  • that's great

  • Very clever. My mums friend lost 3 fingers to a saw like this but without the safety design. Hopefully it's saved some fingers.

  • my brother's drunk friend almost chopped his penis off with a table saw like that too. XD

  • @malango255

safe hu not that hot dog had a bit taken from it

  • poor hot dog :(

  • its good but u couldnt cut metal wiv it

  • It has an override feature that allows you to cut conductive material, though that means that it wont stop for your finger or hand either, so you have to be super careful. as you should anyways.

  • Wouldn't you use a stronger saw, like a cold saw, for cutting metal?

  • .

Try it with a different weiner.

    .

    HA HA HA

  • why dont they try with their finger... -.-

  • Look up timewarp sawstop on youtube, the creator of the saw put his finger to it..

  • Thanks

  • Does this only work with hotdogs?

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to just put something between the blade and your hand? You know, something you could just set at the height of the wood so your hand can't pass through? Or does that pose problems of its own?

  • Why dont you stfu and put your helmet back on.

  • It is only $60 for the blade and mechanism that is ruined.

  • as opposed to your finger or hotdog being ruined

  • i want human demonstration

  • Should've tried it with his finger, since its safe you know =o

  • And you can use it again....wait, no, never mind.

  • nice, so you're out of a saw blade and the aluminum brake needs to be replaced. once it stops then what? "oh the safety mechanism, thank god.... so when can i finish sawing this board?"

  • its better than losing a finger.

  • So your out of a finger and that can't be replaced. At least you still have a working table saw though. "Thank God it kept on cutting right through my finger, I don't know when I'd be able to finish cutting this board if it didn't."

    Moron.

  • For 10 years I have worked in an industry that will take fingers and sometimes lives, and I go by what I was told. "The machine does not care about you, how your day is, and if you have a family." Use your head and you'll keep your digits.

  • content locked you are indeed a fucking moron. i almost cant believe im wasting my time telling you so.

  • ok melon heed, how am i retarded if you get cut, but you might only get cut anyway?

sure you might lose a finger, but what if that wasn't the case? what if you actually noticed your finger creeping toward the blade, and got away with a tiny nick?

  • stop trying to argue. by what you have said, you have deemed yourself too far down the "moronic" road, and no matter what you say it wont bring you back. so stfu u moron.

  • my bad einstein, i didn't realise you knew everything.

hey btw what's the meaning of life? because you're so much smarter than everyone else you should know right?

  • Comment removed

  • its 42

  • i've seen that movie lol

  • good. at least youve got SOME sense in you.

  • only bad thing about that is you cant saw wet lumber and sometimes wood might be a little bit to wet on the inside because every peice of wood has a amount of moisture in the wood

  • in my shop class we have a stop saw like this and I've seen it cut wet wood before and the teacher actually messed up once and it saved his finger

  • heres my question. What if your cutting wood that has a lot of moisture in it. One thats been sitting outside.

  • Well noone in their right mind would use wet wood for precision cutting as it shrinks (and even warps) when it dries.

But it'd probably figure out there isn't enough electricity running through to know it's not someones limb.

  • @GuruLarry Actually, there's an override key for just such an occasion.

  • awesome it get's a full (holds up hands) 9

  • I heard $3500 is the base price, I hope it come's with the Grill.

  • thats guys wiener is harder than woodpecker lips

  • wow if they really wanna convince me they should use a real hand ahaha

  • they used a real hand on the show time warp

  • why not a d***

  • I volunteer yours

  • I don't have a duck. You have a dirty mind young man.

  • I was volunteering YOUR duck. YOU have a dirty mind, young man

  • my new duck says we both do.

  • Agreed

  • I thought he meant using the wood panneling from his DECK.

  • I thought he said why not a dick? but i guess i was wrong

  • another dirty mind! lol merry Christmas!

  • Merry Christmas xD!!!

  • @ranma763 they did... search "SAWSTOP in time warp" up there ^

  • I still wouldn't trust it.

  • you don't have to, no-one "trusts" a table saw when they cut off their finger/hand: it's not a conscious decision :P it WILL save you weather you trust it or not :)

  • just recently a student in my class was using this type of saw in shop. and his finger did in fact hit the blade. all he had, was nothing more than a paper cut. there wasn't even any blood.

  • Can it be used multiple times, or does it all need replacing if it happens.

  • @GuruLarry The $60 brake module will have to be replaced, and the blade will at least be a little dull.

  • @GuruLarry

That is my question 2! Is the stop thing broken after use?

  • @HelihunterX I'd imagine that it needs replacing yes.

  • @HelihunterX You need to replace that entire part, including all the stuff underneath and it costs $70 to get another.

  • @GuruLarry

    Uhm very expensiv ....

  • @GuruLarry which is a small price for you fingers!

  • @inventorkid13 only a paper cut?

  • @homeshows123

Well, i still don't think, you should check it yourself X)

  • cool!

  • I own a SawStop 3hp cabinet saw. I've never tripped the mechanism but the saw is really accurate and smooth. Pretty much no vibration, larger than normal cast iron smoothly machined table, and everything's true and straight. It's $4000 out the door w/ all the accessories you'd want but it really is worth it. I never have to worry about the fence being straight, etc, just set it and go. Plus I am even more careful because each time you trip the mechanism it's 60 bucks for a new cartridge.

  • "I am even more careful because each time you trip the mechanism it's 60 bucks for a new cartridge. "

So, in the form of a mathematical expression, 1 finger < $60?

  • Well, a nicked finger is worth about $45 to me, so I'd be mad if I tripped a cartridge only to prevent a nicked finger. But a severed finger is worth maybe $439 so I wouldn't mind if I had to replace a cartridge that prevented a severed finger. I have purchased an extra cartrige so at least I could keep working if I tripped one. I don't mind the $60 so much but the inconvenience of re-ordering them would be annoying.

  • Who would saw with their wiener on the board anyway?

  • John Wayne Bobbet possibly?

  • LMAO xD

  • Well, his ex-wife anyway ^_^

  • awesome

  • it disapered

  • wow that is awesome!

  • If the demonstrator were really confident in the device he'd have used his finger rather than a sausage ;)

I use a band saw to cut foam of various types; I wonder if the interlock would prevent cutting things other than wood - like polystyrene?

  • Well the saw does still cut you, theres no avoiding that, so maybe thats why, also it's easier to show the damage when blood isn't gushing out of it.

I think it'll cut anything, It depends if the item in question can conduct/transfer electricity from a human. If it was wet i'd guess it would.

  • Yes, when your finger touches it, you will bleed, but it won't be like be cut off and a finger on the ground

  • very nice

  • Excellent Idea

  • what an acheivement, bloody well done.

  • no more missing fingers and hands off of stoners don't get fucked up and operate machines

  • clever stuff

  • But what if you wanted to cut Hot Dogs ?

  • ahahahah

  • That is awesome! My old shop teacher was missing 3 fingers, Safety first guys- safety first!

  • Lol, We had one that was missing an index finger too.

I think if you put all the shop teachers in the World missing body parts together you could probably make an entirely new one. A Frankenstien Shop teacher!!!

  • sweet i want one

  • that was amazing
