The director of this video obviously has a soft spot for Joey. This is definitely a Joey video. I think he and Donnie are the best dancers. They both move naturally and with such soul. I think Jordon dances well, too but I'm not seeing as much.

Notice when Donnie sings the line "I could reminisce forever" there's a harmony on the word "forever" but no one but Donnie has their mic up to their mouth. In that regard, it's kind of a bummer but still it's primarily done for technical reasons.

Everyone's mics are live and they're singing. But, in the studio, they might have gone back and overdubbed and therefore there are more than 5 vocals on the track, but again, all theirs. So, in order to replicate that live without having other singers present, they have them on the backing track. However, one thing I noticed is that their harmonies are on the backing track.

There's a live band and there's backing tracks. Here's how it works. The drummer has a click track in one ear and and the backing track/everyone else in the other ear. The backing track has things that can't be or would be really hard to replicate live, such as those funky synths that are going on, and certain vocals. Keep in mind, just because there are vocals on it doesn't mean they're lipsynching.

thank you for explaining that. i have to admit that i totally am in awe with the fact that after all this time, they are back together, and i am seriously happy now that i know that they were not lip singing. it would have been aweful to say that they did something like that. thanks for the response!! I should also point out. The leads meaing the mic's in there hands are live. That means when they sing into them it is there voice coming out. On tour people don't really use backing tracks but sometimes in small shows when they don't use a live band you will get backing tracks with music and voice.

ok, am such a NKOTB fan, always have and always will be. LOL i am their age, but one thing bothers me, and please, i am so not a hater, but it just look and sounds way to perfect singing this song life, and hearing the song on the radio. I am again, not trying to hate, but how come it does look like they are lip singing? I grew up with these guys being on my radio, walls, and clothes....that would really suck!!!!

Cblinzier, They are using backing tracks. They are not lip singing. Backing tracks are music and i would think voice also. Most acts use backing tracks. Even rappers.

I think it's awesome too. Jonathan's talent is overlooked sometimes because Jordan is one of the lead singers, but watching this video I see Jon can dance to and you know he has the vocals being that he is Jordan's brother.
