  • New to your channel... sq. ft. gardening it just the greatest.

  • the white stuff is perlite if it isnt vermiculite

  • what about using those stretchy bands w/hooks on them like you use for bicycles or tarps or luggage on your car (dont know what they are called) for the covers on your grow boxes? Kinda use them like big rubber bands to hold them tucked in..if you know what I mean..anyway it might work. Nice garden, nice full view video, lol..glad I dont have to squint thru that keyhole, girl, haha..Do you buy your earthboxes or make your own? Angie in AR

The Jury is still out on this new camera! What did you think of the picture quality? I buy my EB's. I have seen vids out there on how to make one, but decided against it for two reasons.

    1. I want to spend my time growing veggies and not making buckets.

    2. The homemade buckets degrade after a couple of years.

I think the EB is a great value for only $ 30 for each one. They last for years. I still have my original EB's that I think I bought back in 2004.

  • @Kamisha100 Quality is actually very good, Kamisha..glad you got the new cam! =) I hear Lowe's is carrying Mel's mix already put together in one bag..saw it on another video this morning..I may check that out. You're probably right on the EB value since all those sterlite buckets have gone up to nearly 20 bucks and altho I got mine about 4 yrs ago for 5 bucks ea. they are brittle & breaking apart now..dont think they will last after this season. Where did u get ur sq ft ones? Were they kits?

  • @kokonutbaby1

The square ones were a very lucky find. Home depot was clearing out all their " frame it all" square foot gardens back in January and I ran around to all of them and bought as many as I could find. Nine in all. For only ten bucks each. I think they normally sell on amazon for around $70 each. Thanks for the feed back on the quality of the video my husband thinks the camera was too much money, I say keep it, it's great! We''ll see what happens.

  • I would staple the corners of the weed barrier, ive used just regular stapler and it worked good...

  • @TheVbird420

Sounds simple enough. Thanks for the tip!

  • actually sphagnum peat moss will degrade and become dirt because it is organic. The vermiculite will keep though. Good job on the garden.

  • @llcyll

Do you know how often I will need to replace it.

  • @Kamisha100 It depends really. Peat Slowly breaks down to dirt, so every few years check on the level your garden mix and add some. Each time you add some remember to check your soil PH yearly because the peat moss is a little acidic. Add the appropriate amount of lime each time you add peat, but not too much. You can top off your garden yearly with compost /vermiculite as it drops.
