  • This was so much fun! I only did one and stopped short of the petals to make kind of a star. I'm going to make it a pendant! ^_^

  • Great video and wonderful little earrings. I love this pattern, thank you for sharing it.

  • ingenious!!

  • I'll make me apair of these this evening. Thank you for sharing!

  • I have made a bunch of these because your instruction is so clear and at a pace I can follow!! I so appreciate you sharing your craft!!

  • I made it of black and white beads.!

  • i didnnt think u were using green! i thought it was white! :)

  • Have you ever done a 2nd layer of "petals" on this pattern?

  • @craftygirl960 No, I haven't...You should try it and let me know how it turns out.

  • I LOVE your videos. Love the crickets - they make your tutorials so soothing. I have learned so much. My most recent project is beading around a cabachon. Question is, how do you know when to stop? I have made 5 rows around the bead and because I still have plenty of thread, do I keep going? And what are your choices to do with the cab when you are done?

    Thanks so much...Judy

  • @jemooreification Well, thanks! Are you beading up the cab, or just around it? I'd say you can stop beading when it looks nice to you. :) As for applications, you can connect them and make a necklace, or bracelet, or you can add a finding and make some earrings!

  • @tsummerlee I'm beading around the cab...I'm not ready to try and bead up the cab. The bead I'm using isn't really a cab...it came in a bag of free beads and it looks like a cab so I thought I'd experiment by going by your tutorial. It looks great right now so I guess I'll stop and make a necklace or something.

  • AMAZING WORK!!!!!! It is soo beautiful. I absolutely LOVE it and I am definitely gonna try it......Thanks for the amazing vid....:)

  • i live near niagra falls and the tonawanda indian reservation i will look into the indian beading work you were talking about and see if i can come up with anything as i know they sell beads at the reservation i dont know if there willing to give any info is another thing cause they sell this kinda work also and may not want to give any secrets out but ill ask alls they can say is no right lol

  • @kathydon1 LOL! I'm thinking about just buying an old piece and taking it apart live on UStream, or something. I would absolutely, without a single problem, do exactly that, too. If you decide to ask, make sure you're prepared to possibly get insulted for having the nerve to value the artform, which is nutty, but, whatever.

  • If you went to Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY and asked around in their gift shop, the one with the white horse. You could probably be directed towards a couple of different Native American crafters. If you explained that you wanted to preserve the art form they might know some people.

  • beatiful :-)

  • wow!!!

thank you! have a good day:)

  • Lovely and simple project thank you very much for inspiring us all.

  • Wow...so neat! Thanks for sharing!

  • What do you do at the end to secure it all, make another knot???

  • @MissEnglishChocolate Hold my hand...yes, make a knot, or not make a knot. You can weave mindlessly through your work for about 10 minutes until your beads are packed with thread (which will secure it,) or, do what I do, and make a half hitch knot, weave through a few beads, make another, weave through a few more, make another, until you think you're safe. Beading isn't a religion, so there are no sins to commit or avoid. ;)

  • hello thank you for the lesson! you said that bead work was dying... it has this GREAT turtorial, i dont know if its from the same culture but it deffinately has bead weaving like your tutorial :). look up on youtube: How to make the wheel earrings with seed beads. thx again.

  • @msashleyhi Oh, ya, I love Sarah's stuff. She's so sweet, too. Nothing like crabby ol me! lol

  • THANK YOU so much for these videos! You are awesome and I would love to hear more about the Native American beading...I would love to hear if you found anything.

  • Ur hands are very pretty

  • Sweet spring

  • Thank you.

  • IT WASN'T A CRITISISM, honest. Much prefer watching your nails in real motion, than step by step, have found lots more of your work, so am a very happy bunny xxx

  • @makev25 I'll get right on that. *rolling my eyes*

  • @tsummerlee LOL....

  • @makev25 wow that was rude!

  • This is not a flower. It is the jewish star

  • @melinawill It does kinda look like David's star. Never noticed before.

  • Lovely earings and great explanation!! thanks for sharing it with us :)

  • Nice! Thank you!

  • Just made this, thanks for the tutorial. you are the best..

  • Can u please tell us how u got into bead work and how you to be a good beader.

  • @alomo3 I've always been kinda craftish. I do remember being on a weekend ski trip years ago, and we stopped at this big ol' craft store to look around. One isle had miles of gorgeous glass beads. I bought some, and played around with them on colored craft wire, and came up with some really cute earrings. A friend asked me to make some for her for Christmas presents. The rest is history. Practice can make anyone pretty good, even excellent, at lots and lots of things.

  • @tsummerlee - Thank you very much for your advice and great work. Hope to see more tutorial soon. Love what you do.

  • @tsummerlee Could you make a tut on those earrings? I bet they were cute :)

  • as i started going though ur videos..i was amazed...this is just simply amazing...thank u very much 4 sharing

  • really helpfull video , congrats!!!!

  • wow thankyou!!!! ^_^ i like how your very conversational whiile teaching us :'3

  • I would like to know what kind of needle you use? I used and sewing needing and the tiny beads would not go threw so I used alittle bigger beads also.....I did this like 6 times bc I kept messing up then I finally got it right and at the very end you did not show how to tie it of now im lost...all that now i dont know how to finish it off! :(

thank you so much for sharing

    Marnie

  • @DaisyMay8887 If the needle is too big, use a smaller one. Finish anyway you choose.

  • @tsummerlee thats the problem i dont now how.

  • @DaisyMay8887 How to what?

  • @DaisyMay8887 I use a beadalon spit beading needles they pull apart in the middle and are easy to thread

  • bad camera result

  • Hello Teresa! Thank you for wonderful tutorial What a beautiful earrings. I like them! Is it possible to make a pendant, bracelet and ring with the same pattern?

    Thanks.

  • Thanks. I did it right the first time for a beginner beader. I wonder how to go further with this patent to make bracelet, necklace, or headband.

  • Raised Indian Beadwork: I saw an embroidery book years ago, they stuffed under the embroidery and perhaps embroidered again in the opposite direction, if this makes sense. I wasn't sufficiently interested to take note but I wouldn't be surprised if they stuffed the beadwork with horse hair and covered it with fabric then beaded over it.

Thanks for your videos you have me wanting to make these earrins.

  • Where do you get your beads from, I know there are a million places to buy them on the internet...thats the problem. I know a couple of very popular places that I DON'T LIKE TO USE. I would really like to know more about you. You really intrigue me. Did u teach yourself all this. I just can't wait to get on everyday , hear your voice and away we go. I will pass on all I can. Pay it forward. I love your bags, the cardholders =etc. Love it all. 't seem spooky. lol

  • beautyful love it'

  • Thanks for posting this. I have also really enjoyed making these. It is a great weave for a beginner like me! I would love it if you would do some more fun beginner weave projects like this for us beading newbies :D

  • What size and style of needle are you using. I am having trouble getting the thread threw the needle and then getting the needle to fit the seed bead size 11. Something is not working here.

  • Thank you so much for this video - I am brand new to beading and this looks, beautiful and fun. You made it look easy, hopefully I won't mess it up :).

  • quiza no me entienda lo que le voy a decir pero me encantoooo!!!:. me facino.. esta hermosoooo!!!:.

    :)

  • @sasha10293 Standard size, which is 11/0.

  • I enjoy your videos! You are just so down to earth and enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you so much. Great vid!

  • Gorgeous earrings!!

I'll try to do some research, I promise. That technique looks amazing!

  • Hi. I just wanted to say that I enjoy your videos. I like the beading, but I love the way you are so down to earth. Ship me some of that happy pls...lol....and thank you for sharing....very kind of you.

  • @raineorshine1 Awe. :) You're so welcome!

  • been making lots of these,i used size 6 mm rounds, and i liked the look of 5-6 11size seed or delica,on them. they are so fun and easy, thank you so much,i am a newbie and it was fun to find a pattern i could do!

  • @mclaren8605 I'm so delighted by this! Thank you! :)

  • Beautiful, learning so much from you. I want to learn how to make a moon face cab. I love to learn also how to make the picture of Indian in order to make it into a cabochon.

thank you do much. keep up the great work.

  • @MsPittston What a great idea! A moon cab!

  • Love the project, already made quite a few pairs. I did try using regular nymo thread and the look just isn't right. But the ones I used fireline on look great. Thank you so much for such wonderful projects and most of all thank you for such clear instructions.

  • @DigitalPommie Isn't it amazing the difference thread can make? You're so welcome, and thank you. :)

  • hi i love ur work, im learning a lot.. tell me do u use a simple thread?? bcz i tried plastic wire which becomes difficult with the needle specially for small beads

  • @gr8ladyforever I use beading thread or Fireline. You can use regular sewing thread, but your finished project won't be as durable. Polyester or poly/cotton threads can fray against those sharp little beads, like Delicas.

  • Thank you so much for sharing all your tutorials. I am beginning this project now. We can't let these arts die! :)

    PS: I LOVE Antique Roadshow!!

  • I love your videos! I learn so much! Thank you so much for sharing these tutorials!

  • What beautiful earrings. I like them a lot! Nice colour too. Your giggling makes me happy while watching your tutorials

  • @montrealstars60 Darn nervous laugh...my whole family suffers with it.

  • Thanks again for the video, I always learn something to improve my techniques. I'm really curious about this raised beadwork - I tried to find it on the Roadshow website without success - can you help point me in the right direction?

  • @oceanlady1956 I'll post links. The clip is in the lastest episode that aired, and toward the end. I took a screen shot of it.

  • @tsummerlee Thanks - by knowing which episode I was able to find it. Interesting - you are right very little on the net about it - I'll have to check with my parents who have been in the antique business for 50 years if they know anything about it.

  • I can't wait to try this. They are so cute

  • Love your tutorial! Your vids are always inspiring! I am very interested in the bead embroidery that is being lost! I love embroidery of all types and would be so interested in seeing you share what you find or create to keep this beadwork alive! TFS:)

  • Dear Teresa.

Thank you for one more wonderful tutorial. I really enjoy all of them (I also enjoy the way you communicate during your working process - I wish I had a friend like you).

I wanted to ask if you could show how to make a fan bracelet with seed beads and bugles. I saw the bracelet on the gallery site - looks very interesting, but never found any tutorial. I'd REALLY appreciate if you could...

    Thank you.

    Love,

    Svetlana

  • @ostrovsvet Let me say this about that: if you see a design you want to try yourself , ask the artist first if they'd like to share how it was made. Artists tend to be very protective of their techniques, often to its demise. But the last thing I'd ever consider doing is duplicating the genius of an unknown talent just because I can. Though perfectly legal, I would no doubt end up hurting a perfect stranger. I only hope these talented people will share what they know at some point.

  • @tsummerlee No,Teresa, I never meant THAT. It hurts. Sorry if you got that impression. I just wanted to ask if you are familiar with the technique which makes a bead work to flare so beautifully. I never wanted the design to be copied, just hoped to learn from you as I had learned before (with huge appreciation).

Thank you for answering me anyway.

  • @ostrovsvet Sorry, I'm not familiar with it, not without seeing it, anyway. :)

  • sweet and cute. very dainty earrings

  • Thank you 4 tutorial. Always liked circular designs but they seem to involve Right Angle Weave which I can only do 1 type of. BTW: the pearl beads are pronounced "Prey-shee-osa"-Preciosa, & their pearls & crystals are supposed 2 cost less than same kind in Swarovski brand. Shipwreck Beads advertises them a lot. Thanks again

  • @d2008new Prey-shee-osa...got it. Writing it down, even. They're beautiful beads, and I'm really happy with them. I tried, but just couldn't get into RAW it at all. It never kept my interest. No clue why.

    -Prey-shee-osa- ;)

  • Thank you....another wonderful tutorial!! What's a good source to purchase the 4mm Czech?

  • @mizebonyangel I bought them from firemountaingems. Tons of sizes and colors.

  • I wonder if I could use Crystals for this and yes I would also like to learn the iroquis bead embroidery! I am Cherokee Indian but would love to learn a new technique.

  • @kittenangel2001 I don't see why you couldn't use crystal rounds. Sounds lovely.

  • pretty

  • thank you...love your tutorials

  • so cute :)

  • beautiful!!!
