inexcusable but this is the first time I've seen Linda Thompson sing a song and I must say Linda...you are lovely. I hope you're well and happy. Your voice is piercing in that it can piece the heart...I'll look forward to hearing more of you. Nice guitar work too...thanks for posting this...may we all be simple of heart. and free of spirit and always grateful for Christ's sacrifice. Thank you Jesus...you've got so many cool friends.
Rename the song Insallah for the sake of magnanimity, do away with the gratuitous chord changes there are far too many key changes for such a common place melody and we may be on the way to a winner.......not that I am suggesting that God would approve of gambling of course.
This song is so nice for Christmas or anytime of year. The scripture says that Christ was born in the time the lambs are born. I believe he was really born in the spring. The world celebrates Jesus birthday on December 25, but if you do research on the history of christmas you can find out why they really chose that date, its interesting.
I completely agree with you. December 25 was Constantine's birthday, and it has nothing to do with the birth of Christ except that it has been associated with it for centuries. I don't even like the word, Christmas, but it has become the norm, so I have to deal with it on that level. I'm glad you enjoyed the song!
LOL! I'm sure it's not the first time two entirely different compositions were given the same name! Sorry if you were disappointed. There are at least two or three different renditions of Jones' composition here on YT, and possibly more you already know about. Blessings on you!
Please, what are you, using for sound? equipment, software? I have a degree in broadcasting, that is why I am asking. Lots of talent here, my girl friend plays base, about a dozen interments and I sing to, taking voice lessons.
In this particular video, all I used was a Kodak Z760 digital camera my wife gave me for Christmas in 2005. The only software I used was Quicktime Pro. That's it.
I am a big fan of classical and folk music, Micheal Card. any way I am on my way up to Main with a load of insulation, Big snow storm coming. great vid.
That is a pretty & hopeful somg. I know how Laurie feels re hi notes. I was singing 4 yrs ago & had to whisper to the piano player that my voice quit & she said sing an octave lower. I did & nobody even noticed. It was a disappointment to me...oh, well! Mary
Seasons greetings and happy holidays to you, Jack (& Linda, of course). God bless you and everybody here, thanks again for sharing this delightful video clip.
PS: The highs that Linda touched on were a wee bit too high for my eardrums, guess you might need to tweak the microphone's setting a bit to adjust for that.
I'm glad you liked it. Sorry about the high notes. We didn't use any fancy mics, just the one on the camera. Blessing on you, and thanks for commenting.
One of your best! Like Laurie, Linda has a wonderful voice! The Lord has blessed the whole bunch of you, and I think He'd be very happy with what you're doing!
Thanks Andy! Linda is not entirely pleased with the outcome of this vid, but if you knew what we went through to get it to this point, well, anyway, I'm glad you liked it! Blessings on you!
Thanks Lisa! I've been wanting to do this song again for years! I wanted to record it for the radio station I used to work for in the '90s, but Laurie couldn't reach the higher notes anymore. I'm so glad Linda was willing to help me with this!

The song was a little challenging for Linda, but I thought she did pretty well. I guess it's just a matter of taste.
