  • I am so hungry now- I'll have to go chop some veggies.

My father use to say he walked up-hill in the snow both ways when he went to school..and I thought he was pulling my leg.

I guess it was possible- I've seen it on video..

    Nota

  • I haven't been to a farmers market in years. they sometimes have small treasures...I loved it. thanks for sharing. :^)

  • I would had had to have a live plant.LOL a up hill climb? me and you both brother.

  • Beautiful country ! I love farmers markets ! Wonderful .

  • Jenn, I love them, too. It's a shame that vegetables don't last longer. I always feel like buying a ton of things but I just can't eat them fast enough.

  • Hmmm... I like the enhanced colors at the market. We will be passing through those parts on our way back west after 888...

  • ive never been to a farmers market...hmmm

  • What? Never? Actually, I don't get to our as often as I'd like. I'm hoping to go again tomorrow, this time with some money.

  • That was more than just a trip to the flea market. Thanks for the mini tour of the area!!

  • Funny you should call it a flea market. Actually, I did go to a store called Treasure Mart after I left the farmers market but I didn't like the footage so didn't include it.

  • Thanks for sharing your trip. What do you usually go there to buy?

  • vegetables and bread

  • mmmm yummy looking veggies!

  • Thanks Marc! It's so interesting to me to see what it's like by you! Those veggies looked nice and fresh!

  • Thanks sherrilynn. I think I'll tack on a minute tour at the end of many of my upcoming vids.

  • That was great Marc, Thank you for taking us on a walk around the market. Best time to go is when you haven't got your money lol its cheaper. Everytime i go out it seems to be up hill. But it looked such a lovely day.

  • Kim, it was a very nice day, not as hot as it had been. Wednesday I remembered to take my money downtown but forgot to go to the market.

  • This was a nice video. It's inspiring me to go visit my own local farmers market. I'd go there more often but, I'm on a really tight budget.cool video. :)

  • Dan, you can make a lot of varieties of vegetarian sandwiches that don't cost much.

  • I figured out how to walk up hill both ways, but it is easier to walk down both :*)

  • Aerock, I'm convinced that our "rolling hills" really ARE rolling. I swear they moved while I was at the market.

  • what a wonderful day:•)

  • Only you would go all the way to the market, park 2 miles away, walk uphill both ways, just to find out you had no money. LOL!!

  • Looks like a great market. Thanks for remembering to take us. LOL

  • That is a beautiful place. I just love to see these type of videos where you can get a measure of a place. Great cathedral there too Marc.

  • VERY cool nook in the world.

My market is all inside, but it's sentimental to me bcasue Ive bee shopping there for 9 years now. Great vid.

    JR

  • Thanks for sharing , I loved the video and subbed. xoxo jen

  • A covered market place. Do they come and set up in the winter too.

Great to see you outdoors. A little tour of local Hot Spots. And a drive by also.

    I am so happy!

  • What a lovely area. I am so glad you took us along your walking route.

I really enjoy seeing other areas where each of us live. So interesting.

Wowzer! look at all that beautiful produce! It all looks so good! :0)

  • Thank you for sharing! It also reminded me I need to buy Cherry´s. :)

  • Oh Perr! I thought that was something only I would do!

  • LOL! Loving the 'uphill both ways' detail! :) You are special Marc to be able to do that. The market looked wonderful ( I hope it is just as good Wednesday when you go) and your city is lovely. I loved the old world feeling. Thank you for taking me out for a walk on a lovely day and with such great company!

  • There's a strange look in the eyes of these peaceful settlers. The story goes that many have tried, but no one ever really escapes this town. No one really knows what lies beyond its borders. Perhaps the elders know, but they're not talking. At night a strange light can be seen in the sky. That's when we know that THEY have returned.

  • you guys have a great market there. i love a good farmers market. am glad you left the house lol

  • I've never been to Ann Arbor, but videos like this bring it right to me. Thanks for sharing this!

    <3

  • uphill both ways? 'cause you're the perr, you can move mountains ;)

the colors of the veggies were just beautiful, so vibrant. what a lovely town you live in!

  • Marc, I would love to take you to the Farmer's Market here in Boston! You'd love it (and it's not uphill both ways!)

  • Staydol, I love all markets, big or small. Ours is nothing like the monstrous one in Detroit but it's not bad for this size town. I know I didn't do it justice by rushing through like I did, but I was a bit nervous walking around with a camera LOL. Ah well, it was better than the two stores I sneaked into and filmed. I practically ran through those so I wouldn't get caught. Needless to say, that footage wasn't very usable.

  • Our Market in Boston is kind of rough-and-tumble, near one of our famous "just-about-to-fall-down" bridges. You have to walk through a lot of discarded tomato boxes to get there, but it's worth it. Not as symmetrical and pretty as yours, but it gets the job done!

I love that you risked embarrassment and nervousness to bring these calming and bright images to us. Whether comedic or serene, I love your videos!

  • I was hoping you would pick me up some peaches while you were there.

  • I would have done just that, had I taken any money :-(

  • That was a pleasant excursion.

  • Yes, it was pleasant in spite of my forgetfulness.

  • lol. you forgot your wallet. Sounds like my trick. I often go out for a pint of milk. Then I come home with a load of stuff and forget the milk.

  • Oh lord! I do that on a daily basis. The one thing I really need is the one thing I forget.

  • Great video, now I don't havce to go out at all today, you did it for me.

  • Just one of the many services I offer.

  • It's uphill all the way Marc!

I loved this, when i come to visit you will you take me to this market? ;-)

    x hugs x

  • Certainly!

  • What a lovely area. Up hill both ways? Interesting.

  • AnneMarie, it's an odd town. No matter where you're going, it's uphill. Or maybe it's just my brain that's odd?

  • Looks nice there

  • BattlefieldDoktor, Ann Arbor is nice or a smaller city. So much to do that I rarely take advantage of.

  • I love go in this kind of market.

    Lovely video :)

    PS. Hugs from ....Greece :))

  • Thank you Laz. I'm still ticked off that I forgot my money. I usually come home with far more than I can use.

  • I heard that you used your turn signal - yay for that!! (my husband never does for some reason and I hate that) What great footage and some really cool looking buildings along the way. I love farmers markets and go to them whenever I find them.. OMG Marc, how could you forget your wallet?????? LOL Up hill both ways?? LOL

  • I'm a dweeb, Judy. It was just too much trouble going back home to get the wallet and returning so I'll have to wait till Weds.

  • what a great market. Even better with cash! LOL

On market day I intentionally leave my wallet at home - but remind Brian to bring his! LOL

  • Lesley, that works sometimes, if you're with someone. I was so concerned about bringing the camera, I forgot that I had taken my wallet out of my shoulder bag and left it at home.

  • music from BamBam and a vid by Marc, I'm in heaven!!!

Our farmer's market is a joke compared to this. I'm so jealous.

You didn't get to buy anything.. denied!!!

I want to cry for you.

  • I like all markets, big or small. And, no, they wouldn't take an IOU, the bastards.

  • LOL!

  • I do so admire people who brazenly walk past "do not enter" signs. And the old "I forgot my wallet" line - I must resurrect that one - does it work on ebay I wonder -Lesley would be happy if it did! Good to see your disembodied voice out and about!

  • Brian, such signs are posted for out-of-towners, only.

  • Right! So those damn cyclists who nearly run me over every day cycling the wrong way down our street are local eh? Not worth stealing their bikes then as they don't have far to walk home.

  • What a beautiful day for the trip to the Market. I LOVED the tour! Could you send the lear jet to pick me up so I can go to the market, please? How does one actually FORGET such an important thing, the wallet, when going to the market?? ha! Only YOU could choose routes that were UP HILL both ways...hahaha Love ya anyway! *hugs*

  • Cay, at least I remembered to go! Unlike some people...:-)

  • hahaha!! I remembered, I just didn't go...:-)

  • I ask for a birthday video Caylyn, and you ask for a lear jet.. hmmm.. I could learn SO much from you!!!!

  • hahaha, Angie!! I teach ya...:-)

  • What beautiful footage! You live in the most glorious of areas Marc!! I'm so sorry you forgot your wallet.. the produce looked YUMMY!!!

Thank you for taking us on such a splendid tour!

    *big hugs*

    ~Angie

  • Thanks Angie. I debated about uploading it because it didn't seem like anything special compared to what some people post. Nevertheless, it's my town and I am enjoying showing it off. Do you think I should do more?

  • Marc.. this is YOUR channel.. screw what anyone else thinks! Post what YOU like! Just like in that movie "if you build it they will come".. darlin' I for one am coming! Do I think you should do more??? Hell YEAH, I thoroughly enjoy it! But the important factor is that you must ALSO be enjoying it! As long as Marc makes Marc happy.. others will find joy in it!!! *big hugs* and much love! Angie

  • mmm 3:36 eggplant? WHOA! If so they were healthy, and my first thought was parm! Love the footage, that church was built really nice. The colors of the peppers were eye popping! Only bad thing i have to say is meh to hills!! Music fit perfect! Thanks for taking me outside with you, I could use the sun! ;o)

  • Thanks. I'll take you out again before long :-)

  • Cool old buildings like that just aren't to be found out here.

We do have farmers markets, though.

And I can relate to an uphill climb - on many levels (and, yes, that's probably a pun).

  • Curt, I left out much of the footage. You could hear me panting. That's because I had already climbed one hill when I decided to veer off in another direction. Thankfully, those hills weren't steep but soooo long. Maybe next time I'll get myself out before 9:00 so I won't have to park so far away.

  • I am loving the 'out and about with Perr" vids! Gorgeous buildings. There is a huge farmers market in Mpls that we go to. I could spend the whole day there. Thanks for taking us along!

  • Sue, ours isn't bad for a smaller city. I know what you mean about spending all day. Had I brought any money, I would have stayed longer! lol

  • Oh how I love the Farmers Market Marc!! and I haven't been to one in ages I sure wish I could have gone with you!! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this video. it was relaxing and those veggies looked so so good!! Love the Cathedral!! I'm a huge cathedral fan! they are all so beautiful. I can't even begin to imagine all the beautiful ones Diana saw while she was in Rome, but she did send me a post card :) I really envy this beautiful day you had. Thanks for sharing it with us :)

    xoxo

  • Lisa, I was lucky in one respect. The day WAS beautiful and not as hot and muggy as it has been, lately.

  • Well that was certainly a much less expensive trip to the farmer's market than mine usually are:)))

  • But, Blinky, YOU have your own garden! You are very lucky. I don't think anything compares to that.

  • Those veggies look so clean and fresh. They would make a great salad or stir fry! Sure wish they had something like that here.

  • I hadn't really thought of that, mizzie. They are clean, aren't they? That means all that stuff has to be washed before market. That just sounds like too much work for small profits, doesn't it?

  • you make me wanna got to farmers market....but i think il remeber my walat thanks

  • Sexygayiowaboy, remembering one's wallet is crucial when shopping almost anywhere. Now, I'll have to go to the store and buy inferior veggies :-(

  • (kyle) ;) i wouldnt know about that...living in iowa as proven lots of fresh produce where ever you turn......and lots of children of the corn nightmares.....

  • wow.. sure does look pretty there!!!

  • Thanks for watching, ThankYouFairy. That area of town is especially nice, even when the market is closed.

  • I'm liking these little travels with you. Such nice afternoon to go for a stroll. I love going to our famer's market here and just browsing the different vendors. lol no wallet that sucks. Did you end up going back at all afterwards? :)

  • No, Alesha, I didn't go back. Parking is just too problematic. It's open on Weds and Saturday so I'll go again on Weds.

  • what a bummer to not have any money at the farmer's market! and to have the car so far away!you could've smuggled a zucchini out in your pants though with a couple of cantelopes.. just saying..

  • ROFL! I really don't think anyone would believe that, SuzieQ :-)

  • SUZY!!! *shocked* facial expression!

  • LOL!

  • The train depot is very pretty. I am guessing you remembered where you parked, since you got home to load this up ;) You live in a very pretty area! The farmer's market is so nice there, and they sell other stuff than just veggies! Ours looks like crap, and that's all they sell. Veggies. Well, one sells nasty looking pastry type stuff. Thanks for taking us along.

  • Beth, yes I found the car, no problem, for once. We do have quite a nice market for a smaller city. I suppose, being a university town, there are a lot of vegetarians among the shoppers.

  • I so wanna go next time!! LOL...

    Bambam's music is awesome!

  • Maria, you are more than welcome. Don't forget your wallet cuz I will. Brian's music is wonderful. He and Megan are truly talented. I appreciate that he let me use this for background music.

  • I hope you went back with your wallet and got some yummies!

  • Suezee, no. Too much trouble parking. I may just go again on Weds when I am downtown anyway.

  • Wow, this made me hungry! I'm going to make a tomato salad now...

  • Nice tour of a beautiful town, and certainly a gorgeous day for it! Why is it, though, that when you have to walk like this, it's ALWAYS uphill both ways? What's up with that?? And why is the return trip always LONGER?

I love farmers' markets. Some of the best produce you'll ever get, short of growing it yourself. Though it does help if you have your wallet...

  • Moosie, Caylyn said, "Only YOU could walk uphill both ways." I am such a dweeb. All day yesterday I talked about going to the market and what I'd buy. Then, I get there and no money.

  • You may inform Caylyn that there are two of us.

No comment on the dweeb part...

However, it is kinda pointless to go to all that trouble and then leave your wallet in the car. Duh! And what's painful is that I caught glimpses of some prime stuff. And the prices are usually unbeatable. Sigh...

  • Moosie. I didn't leave my wallet in the car. I left it at home! That is "dweeb" to the nth.

  • OY!!! I was ill informed. OK, in that case, you may qualify for the title of Dweebus Maxicus.

  • LOL!

  • I love the farmers market - So much good stuff to be had - like farmers...

  • LOL!

  • Lovely town. I was wondering where it was, and I see Ann Arbor. Some of the landscape reminds me of New England here.

  • It's a nice university town. I do enjoy living here in spite of the weather.

  • i try to sell my kitting at the farm market the fresh fruit looks so good lovely walk with the flower look like queen Anne laces

  • Yes it does, Kate. Just walking through it is wonderful.

  • Ohh a fellow knitter! :o)

  • And Kate does wonderful work, too!

  • Aw Marc, what a lovely day you had for a visit to the Farmers Market. I love going to open air markets and the sights, sounds and smells were dancing in my head as I watched this. Bummer about your wallet though, those pastries looked mighty yummy hee hee Thanks for sharing your day with us...you're great to pal around with :))) xoxoxox

  • Thanks, Shelly. Yes, I'm great to pal around with. However, if I ever invite you to lunch, make sure I have my wallet with me before you say yes.

  • Lovely video-tour of AA. So St. Thomas' is a Cathedral now. I must get over there this summer some weekend!

  • Yay!!!! Thanks for taking us with you!!! I loved it!

  • Wish you had been here :-(

  • Oh I love Ann Arbor! Don't get over there as often as I used to. We stop at all farmer's markets when we're on vacation. You can get everything from a t-shirt to fresh fruits and veggies.

Well done Marc! I love catching glimpses of other Tubers home towns.

    Hugs~Nancy

  • I love watching other towns, too, but I'm never sure if anyone really wants to watch mine. Glad you enjoyed it.
