It's not a coincidence. But I still believe the U.S. has such good atheltes for the wealth factor, but also the multi-culture factor. So many different kinds of people here. Even back in the day, before the U.S. was a super power, the U.S. was always near the top of the medal counts (if not at the top).
in a country like the U.S. you can practice sports full time even olympic sports and have help from the government and in other countrys athletes have to get jobs an train in their spare time i think that's a huge advantage.
That's not true at all. Athletes here in the U.S. do not get help from the government.. this isn't China. Athletes here do have jobs. Some of the very good ones get help from sponsors.. like Michael Phelps. But most have regular jobs like regular people. They devote all of their free time to training.
