Why does no one seem to understand that all you need to do is tap the ocean. It's not a difficult concept. Set up water desalination plants at the ocean and poof! Water. Don't want to pay the electricity fees? Set up wind turbines and solar panels. Cost will be big at the start up, but will pay for itself within no time.
Set these up everywhere, and there won't be a problem. It's not a difficult concept. Sailors have been essentially been doing this for 100s of years

Do you know why it rains? It rains because of condensation in the sky. Do you know why there is condensation in the sky? Water from the Earth evaporates and goes into the sky.
Less than 2% of our world's supply of water is fresh. The other 98% is from the ocean. Even if the water cycle didn't exist, we'd still get millions upon millions more years out of it. Look how long the fresh water has lasted us.

@beautifuledie Just look it up. Look at the amount of fresh water we use, and look at how long it's lasted us. Yes, it will disappear, but not completely. There will always be lakes, ponds, streams, etc. Of course that needs to be treated due to the bacteria present in the water. All this water comes from the ocean, and it all retreats to the ocean via rivers and streams, and of course in the form of rain. Tap into the ocean and we're given and endless supply of water
@beautifuledie If you want fresh water preserved then you have to tap into the ocean. Again, less than 2% of water is fresh water, and that is what the entire world relies on. And again, the water cycle plays a huge part here. No matter what, it will retreat to the ocean. Just over 70 percent of the world is covered in water, mainly the ocean.

@MLBinwa. Great idea. We have millions of lts of water that has been contaminated by the mines in South Africa. Most of the mines at fault are owned by fat cat politcians. South Africa is a country that has a big shortage of water. Most of our water purification plants do not work anymore. Instead of pointing fingers we all need to address the issue and get it sorted out before we are all in trouble.
I've been to South Africa many times, so I am aware of many of your challenges.
Here in America we have polluted much of our water as well. I know many people who have been drilling wells in Africa and I know there are several ways to purify water.

great movie. It seems so stupid how we live and waste our water, while there are people who have to save every last drop. Water shouldn't cost anything. In really poor areas, people have to pay for water, when they can't afford it, but here, we voluntarily pay for bottled water when we can get it right out of our taps at home! It's so annoying how poeple just don't get that there's no difference in tap water than bottled water. Our society is so oblivious to such big issues.
@nebauer101 I love how this movie and "confesssions of an economic hitman" are pretty well correlated as far as the loans that corporations give countries and how they deceive the countries as to how they will grow with the loans. Part 1 the issue being refered to isn't a lack of water, but a lack of clean water millions of people die each year from preventable diseases, after drinking water from an unsanitary source. In other regions, water is simply scarce. Over 97 percent of the earths water is in fact salt water. Two percent is locked in glaciers, leaving us with only one percent available in lakes, rivers, and aquafers. That means that 1% of the water on earth has to sustain 6.6 billion people. As for global warming
For those of us who have gone much farther beyond 3rd grade, we know that (a) although we may have the same quanitiy of the compound water on the planet, we cannot access a large proportion of it, (b) most of what we can access is heavily polluted and/or requires processing (including desalination), and (c) is not evenly distributed. "Water shortage" does not mean "there is not water". It means "we are running out of water that we can live off of".

Agreed good sir. People tend to forget that you can not destroy or get rid of water. Water will always exist in one FORM or another. Water cannot leave our atmosphere. Also, global warming is a lie. The earth cycles through periods of rising and falling temperatures. Like 95% of all the bad "greenhouse gases" are produced naturally from the earth and have been for millions of years. @beautifuledie If you want fresh water preserved then you have to tap into the ocean. Again, less than 2% of water is fresh water, and that is what the entire world relies on. And again, the water cycle plays a huge part here. No matter what, it will retreat to the ocean. Just over 70 percent of the world is covered in water, mainly the ocean.

@MLBinwa. Great idea. We have millions of lts of water that has been contaminated by the mines in South Africa. Most of the mines at fault are owned by fat cat politcians. South Africa is a country that has a big shortage of water. Most of our water purification plants do not work anymore. Instead of pointing fingers we all need to address the issue and get it sorted out before we are all in trouble.

Here in America we have polluted much of our water as well. I know many people who have been drilling wells in Africa and I know there are several ways to purify water.

great movie. It seems so stupid how we live and waste our water, while there are people who have to save every last drop. Water shouldn't cost anything. In really poor areas, people have to pay for water, when they can't afford it, but here, we voluntarily pay for bottled water when we can get it right out of our taps at home! It's so annoying how poeple just don't get that there's no difference in tap water than bottled water. Our society is so oblivious to such big issues.

Then the countries are in so much debt, that they then have to pay "pound of flesh" such as allowing corporations to build dams, bridges, waterholes, ext, for really cheap prices. Or they just get the money from the IMF or World Bank.

Part 1 the issue being refered to isn't a lack of water, but a lack of clean water millions of people die each year from preventable diseases, after drinking water from an unsanitary source. In other regions, water is simply scarce. Over 97 percent of the earths water is in fact salt water. Two percent is locked in glaciers, leaving us with only one percent available in lakes, rivers, and aquafers. That means that 1% of the water on earth has to sustain 6.6 billion people. As for global warming

For those of us who have gone much farther beyond 3rd grade, we know that (a) although we may have the same quanitiy of the compound water on the planet, we cannot access a large proportion of it, (b) most of what we can access is heavily polluted and/or requires processing (including desalination), and (c) is not evenly distributed. "Water shortage" does not mean "there is not water". It means "we are running out of water that we can live off of".

Because we don't speak with same voice on every issue.
If it is bad in some cases, there are also good things to that as well.
Our institutions get stronger, and people wiser. And for a tiny republic , we are not doing very bad either. Way better then the stupid Saakashili did for his nation.

See, with your compatriots - things become simpler, and I learned it over some period of time - because you people are close your ranks around your gov-t, it almost makes no sense even to discuss anything. AT least not with Turks. The right way is to make your gov-t accept us.
