  • Ok, so how do I get to hang out with the boys when they practice????

  • i think marynard is filming it!

  • They're missing an instrument...

  • I wish the concerts could be this raw.

  • I remember this time I was backstage listening to TOOL warming up....no really..

  • And of course Maynard isn't there... :/

  • @Aenima58 hes probully filming it right now!

  • tool is a way of life. i wish i could go somewhere where everybody listens to tool

  • I love the look you give the camara...oh yeah..I'm really here

  • THIS WAS ON MY BIRTHDAY HOLY CRAP!! :D

  • I see John Mayer is appreticiating some Tool at 0:00.

  • I like how Adam smiles at 0:24!

  • I would kill to be that guy with the camera

  • I see we have some Thelemites doing Tool covers :o 0:25

  • its gotta be incredible to be in the same room as danny just watching and listening to him play his set. Dude is such an inspiration to me.. once i heard the Lateralus cd about 2 years ago, i picked up a drum set the next day and havent put the sticks down since. Now im covering 46 and 2 and im only beginning to understand the level of difficulty and the incredible skill it takes to play these songs.

  • @M3GTR After playing Tool everything in music seems easy to play on drums lol

  • @1991ant1991 I agree, it all seems so attainable after you've tried the octa-drummers songs!

  • panned away from Danny during the crazy drum part at the end, sigh.

  • I just had the honor of a private tool show at the loft. The sound in that room guys, ridiculous. It really is surreal, even tho danny is my buddy. It was still the highlight of my life. Played 5 songs of my choice. These dudes are not only a great band, but amazing people. Good hearts!! Great friends :)

  • @mikeyoliveri I'm jealous..

  • I can't express how cool it is that Dannys sticks are LITERALLY a blurrrrrr....

  • @michellelalcorn Thats mostly because the video is a shitty low frame rate.

  • fuuuccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk YOU LUCKY MUTHA FUKER .!

  • The guy holding the cam is saying "Yep. I'm the man". ... and, yes, you are!

  • where the hells maynard lol

  • Luckiest sons o' bitches alive.

  • Danny Carey!

  • that is great. I would love to be in a room when a band of that caliber is practicing.

  • first rule to appreciate this GREAT band:

close your eyes and KEEP THEM CLOSE

  • HEAVY SHIIIT!!!

  • Is that really them? I dont know how they look on real life thats why

  • I turned my speakers to full volume!

  • love adam just leaning there like it's nobody's business...my god what a cool guy

  • Lucky mo fo!

  • I don't understand how such a thing is even possible, the chemistry between the band members is marvelous, the creativity of their songwriting, the time and effort they put in every release, the amount of details, everything. Thank you DESTINY, Tool is amazing.

  • @BASEfuckingLINE They actually take 5 years off and then just resume and work on a new album for only 6, so they are any different from any other band when it comes to effort

  • Ha, there is no Jesus. But really...Tool is amazing. By far, the best band EVER.

  • No it's not Jesus christ plaing bas!, but someone who, hopefully for you, as it for me gave so much inspiration, together with the band, to change the way we're thinking!

    We need this!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you!

  • I know I would be speech less too guy

  • Fucking EPIC!!! Danny Carey is awesome! Why is that room so damn small? Im sure they can afford a bigger space. I bet its some weird thing they all have, it makes them sound better or something. Anyways, I think the are one of the best bands in the world.....Late!

  • 0:26 yep im here and your not

  • Adam looks so cool when he smiles

  • why oh why oh why didnt you keep recording?! the part directly following this, i personally feel, is the most bad ass part of the song! the last two minutes are eargasmic X 100!

  • Who's dick do I have to suck to get into that room?

  • @SKEvil mine:)

  • how loud was that china cymbal? lol.

  • @kennman007 China cymbal?

  • sick, as always,,,,, bad audio :(

  • your'fe fuckin lucky guy :D

  • Justin Chancellor gives me hope as a bassist, being a lanky mofo myself.

  • @b03y LMAO!

  • @b03y lankiness doesn't affect ones awesomeness, bud. There's plenty of us slim guys out there kickin' ass in all sorts of stuff. Including stuff that lanky people don't normally kick ass in lol. And besides, you know what they say about the thin guys, don't you?

  • 3 People don't know what true art is...

  • TOOL IS SO FUCKING SICK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sounds alot like the melvins

  • Holy Shit!, Jesus plays bass for Tool!

  • @reuterrage No ! Jesus plays bass for Lamb of God< I ASSURE YOU !!!

  • @reuterrage more like adonis...

  • @reuterrage what you didn't know?

  • @reuterrage no surprise

  • @reuterrage yes tool is god's music!

  • @reuterrage Hey, what happend to Maynard... Oh yeah, he didnt beleive... lol

  • @reuterrage That explains everything...

  • @reuterrage man i thought everyone knew that!

  • @reuterrage does that really surprise you?...i mean..listen :P

  • @reuterrage Les Claypool from Primus is actually the best bass player in the world. Tools bass player is average. simple BASSics.

  • @C0RPSI Primus is good shit... dont get me wrong. and yes... the bass lines are pretty basic. but thats not the point... its about the feeling of the song and how u convey it. Primus is good... but Tool is perfect. it dosent matter how many notes u hit and how fast u can hit them. the point is 2 make it sound good and to complement the other instruments and make the song complete.

  • @Pulseless666 Don't get me wrong... your Ignorant man, I play music, I make music,I feel music, I use to be ignoant like you and love this starfucker untill I relized EVERY tool song has the same feel EVERY tool song is the same shit just an older pile, the guy know's this and keeps selling to dumb fucks like you.

anything played on the radio or t.v. is free for a reason, to dumb you all down.... now WAKE the fuck up retards! you are so fucked up like little dumb whore's giving it all away.

  • @C0RPSI You know everyone likes different kinds of music, not everyone has like your kind of music. Your an ignorant prick, I hope you know that. Oh and if you hate Tool so much then why the fuck are you even listening to this video? Its just music dont be so intimidated and jealous, just because you cant make tons of money off your suck ass music that no one wants to hear.

  • @opheliarisen27 cool man, cool. kiss your mom for me eh.

  • @C0RPSI Silly fagget... PRIMUS is on tv... or did u forget they do the intro for South Park? i play music 2 man... bass...guitar... and drums. Man... N if u think that every tool song sounds the same... then ur the ignorant...weak and shallow minded as ur comment sounds 2 the rest of us who dig this music. Put ur foot in ur mouth and ur head up ur ass hole so we dont have 2 listen 2 u talk. Civilization would go a lot further if we didnt have leaches like u in it.

  • @Pulseless666 Wow your feelings are actually hurt. Im just saying Primus is the best bass player, and i stubled across this shit, every song is the same hahahahaha.....

    hahahahah...

    hahahah... I like cats to.

  • @C0RPSI No, all u did is run ur mouth and call us out... and we responded. u wanna talk shit on tool but all u have on ur page is Trent Reznor? hahaha ur a douche. Do us a favor. shut ur damn mouth and keep ur pile of shit views 2 yourself. We love tool... and what they stand for. if u think that every song sounds the same... apparently ur mentally challenged. U cant wrap ur mind around Tool... its alright buddy.. there not for weak minded kids like u anyway.

  • @Pulseless666 "No, all u did is run ur mouth and call us out... and we responded. u wanna talk shit on tool but all u have on ur page is Trent Reznor? hahaha ur a douche. Do us a favor. shut ur damn mouth and keep ur pile of shit views 2 yourself. We love tool... and what they stand for. if u think that every song sounds the same... apparently ur mentally challenged. • @Pulseless666 How did this make you feel.. your a troubled little boy sorry if i hurt your feelings with my opinion, Im so glad you at least have yours. good for you kid. yes I do enjoy Trent Reznor thanks for letting me know.

  • @C0RPSI primus isnt a bassist

  • Jesus does not play bass, he cuts wood. hahahaha

  • sooo lucky

  • Just came.

  • the things i would have done to be there....

  • yeah the face is pretty spot on for the situation

  • really surprised that a band of tools level practise in such a small space :s

  • @Kydrastig hey stupid asshole. go get a life. go eat your meat. meat eater. practicing in a small place is tits.

  • after around 30 years of been a music fan i can tell: danny is the most creative ,original, fresh, different and outstanding drummer i ever heard, there are many other great drummers like lombardo, tempesta.bozzio, portnoy, etc but for me they don't gather all danny's characteristics together

  • @christiannandres and yet people still refuse to accept it . well said .

  • Danny's rockin it

  • MOAR MOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR

  • Justin looks like jesus. Amazing vid, thanks for uploading it.

  • Where's the bald guy that usually hangs around with them? :P

  • @KapustaCuber being short somewhere.

  • @facedspaced In a wine vineyard.

  • @facedspaced HAHAHA that was pretty darn funny

  • @KapustaCuber He actually doesn't come around the practice space much.

  • @piratebri Ya, it looked like they were holding up just fine without him here, and they've been doing a lot of the writing without him...

  • @KapustaCuber probally doesnt think he needs to practice

  • @Boggs420247 Or he's with APC. MJK was absent for a lot of the music writing on this album. That and 10,000 Days. He comes in, writes lyrics, and then they all tweak it. It's a really cool writing process. MJK is probably the least cocky front man in Metal/Rock/Prog/Whatever.

  • @StripMyWorldAway I know i am a huge TOOL fan, i was just messing around, they are the most creative force in music today!

  • @Boggs420247 Mkay Good. :D

  • @KapustaCuber He's with me.

  • @Kan2209 Lucky. -_- That's okay though, I'm seeing APC in a month so he'll be with me soon enough.

  • @KapustaCuber behind the camera!

  • @KapustaCuber U mean stone cold steve austin?

  • @VentheSenpai Hmm... no, I think I might have meant terry crews.

  • @KapustaCuber hahaha

  • @KapustaCuber he's playing with a band called someting like.... luscifer, pussy per, shiittyfer, well something like that, whatever he's bald

  • Ah, too bad the quality's so low. :(

  • Tool, Pink Floyd and Rush....that's all I need :)

  • You lucky bastard! You have no idea how envious I am to see this hahaha

  • Danny is The God of Thunder. Amazing!

  • I didn't know Jesus plays the bass ;)

  • yieeeaaaa !! TOOL and Joshua Davis, just awesome!!! greeting from Chile!

  • i de like to see the rest of the song there is the better part missing :(

  • Ah, to be a fly on the wall when Tool is writing music... I believe someone else commented similarly before. For example, I would have loved to see them come up with something like this song. Lateralus is a masterpiece. Disposition/Reflection/Triad too. Or how about anything off this album? Lateralus is the best thing, musically, I've ever heard.

  • Where was Maynard at?

  • jesus at 0:03

  • this is epic, TOOL jus rocking out right there with ya , nice

  • I want to be there too !! Jealous !

  • :) i want be also there !

  • sooooo jealous

  • why doesnt Mr.Slickdick post some more of the footage...

  • what? did these two guys win a contest? it's like who the fuck are these guys that they get to sit in on tool jamming out

  • I think the guy sitting is staring at more than just justin's bass.

  • lucky bastard.

  • i wish this was my fucking basement

  • where's Maynard?

  • @zeedog14 haha..I love Maynard

  • awesome

  • whats the name of that thing behind Danny at 0:27?

  • I think it's a unicersal hexagram? Without looking it up

  • Its an occult relic known as the Enochian Magick Board. Google it.

  • that it is, incorporated with Fibonacci 's mathematical sequence used in rhythm, nature, etc...

  • If you have to ask, you are not ready to know.

  • well using a pick is a certain style and i stand by comment, but it seems it has been misinterpreted. i was just suggesting that although tool is my favourite band, it should still be open to critism.

  • Dude at 0:28 is just like "Yeah that's right, I'm chillin' with Tool"

  • @SalSanMar3 Looks like he`s about to cry with happiness

  • 0:26 "yeah...i'm here...you're not...what of it. JEALOUS MUCH BITCHES."

  • and introducing jesus on the bass!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah greatest comment ever.

  • You'd think for such an intellectually artsy band their practice space would be, not only bigger for one, but set up with a more intimate and comfortable feeling to truly endure the elements of their psyche.

  • @bearblastbeats

    WHAT?!

  • @bearblastbeats Dude you dont know much about Tool do you, theyre just normal guys like you or i they just come up with a good riff, groove, bassline or melody then try work everything else out with it. then they write lyrics and for the size, my bands practise space is a room 12' by 12' with a double bed, drum kit, desk, computer chair, and tv stand (my room) so i envy them quite a bit. not that but their tool =D

  • @alex035 Someone underestimates the thought they put into what they write. Look up a concept called binural beats and then listen to Lateralus again.

  • @ProtoDman this was still a basic idea that they elaborated on and progressed into what it is now i was saying how they started the process either way it begins with an idea.

  • @alex035 They is a lot more to it then coming up with a good riff, groove, and bassline, especially when it comes to Tool. They definitely have one of the most complex styles of writing music out of any band of the 21st century.

  • @xReinhartx not what i meant it all begins and branches out from said riff groove bassline etc and eventually continues till your happy with it theres no finishing a song there just adding to it and adding to it until you can live with it. Tool obviously doesnt mess around and goes through a very long process but either way it still starts from that one idea.

  • @alex035 Very true, either way, I don't think you could mesh 4 other human beings together and create anything better then what Tool has.

  • one of my favourite tool songs

  • i agree with 3603mailmaster... well to a degree anyway. Tool may be a great, talented and intelligent band, but they are not gods. niether is any other band , regardless of their talent. All musicians should be open to critisism, i, for one don't like how justin chancellor uses a pick.

but i do prefer the more lengthy tool songs.

  • that is one of the way justin gets the uber growl from his wal is witha pick. And i bet you hate that he uses effects as well?!?!

We all have our opinions :)

  • I love justin's use of effects. aside from the pick which is just petty personal preference, justin is a major influence on me. I wish i had all the effects necessary to make simillar sounds to that of jambi. I also love his mastery of odd rhythms

  • really the pick thing again? come on man what about chris squire and roger waters they used a pick. you shouldnt criticize personal prefences, maybe you dont like his style or his form but not the pick thing again

  • you guy all have your heads way too far up their asses. their ENTERTAINERS not very important people in the grand scheme of things. all i said was that their 15 9+ min songs are too long, they are still good but too long. God forbid anyone says anything negative about the all mighty Tool. they are above critizism I guess

  • how do you feel their music could be better? aside from time lengths, which i appreciate it, reminds of classical music when you had to put time aside and actually listen to it, what would you change, and this isnt sarcasm, every band should be scrutinzed so they will keep putting out the best possible music. i personally think tool is one of the best bands to come out in the past couple of decades and i love thier attention to detail. You?

  • YES!!!

  • boooo you

most of the long songs are epic. turn off the lights, put headphones on, and really listen to what goes on in their recordings... you'll never make a comment like that again!!!!

  • @3603mailmaster no, even too short in my eyes

  • juuuuuuuust perfect

  • hahahhaahahhahaahahahahahaha

  • spiral out..

  • god I would love to be a fly on the wall when these guys rehearse

  • i wanted to see more! Adam was about to go into that cool riff and they were all about to really start grooving...but i'm thankful for the opload : )

  • Lucky Lucky Man...

    I can only dream.

  • i dont think theres realy anything wrong with playing with a pick in fact i like to play with a pick mostly on bass. but it sometimes cinduf makes the bass guitar seem like a lame instrument just a regular guitar tuned low

  • it's an acquired taste

  • if i had just one wish, it wouldn't to for riches, it wouldn't be for fame, it wouldn't be for for all the hottest babes in the world... i would wish to be you for just that one day, fuckin cool man, fuckin cool

  • So much epic cramped into so little a space.

  • @robitfuel Extremely well said sir!

  • @robitfuel

Absolutley right. I mean that's the room where such magic is created. Can't believe it O_o

  • room full of divine

  • I bet you it's loud as fuck in there.

  • bet u its filmed on a fone

    or an old cam corder
