I think it's sweet that your dog likes you to sing her to sleep. Pets are a lot like kids, especially when you don't have any kids and all you have is your pet or pets.

And just for the record, this song is the theme song for the 1972 movie "Ben" (sequel to "Willard"). Ben was not Michael Jackson's pet rat, but the name of the rat in the movie. A sickly child befriended the rat and treated it as a pet, even though it was the leader of the rat pack that was responsible for killing a few ppl.
