Sure hope my hubby's 73 Mach 1 that he has been slowly restoring for the past few years looks as good as this one when complete. You did a beautiful job.
out of all the mustangs even the 1960s, the 73 body ones are the rarest i've seen. i never see them. i think i've only seen 1 or 2 on the road ever thats it. still badass
fucking not what they were they to me are everywere and over played, not to mention a lot of bmws mercerdes audis VW porsches, corvettes of course and camaros beat mustang
This is the same car my godfather lent me in the Summer of '79 when my car was stolen. Senior just out of High School with this badass. Drove it all Summer. I had no idea what to do with it. White with the blue racing stripe. I'd love to have that car today.
thats a nice car i own a 72 mach 1 i love that car. i never raced it thow well i did once with my frend i reaced his torino for shits and giggles. he won he is supoesed to have a 351 like mine but no he has a 425. i need a new rear diff and stering box i cant dive it untill that is fixed. other than that the car is a blast to drive had my first date in that car.
My friends dad Has one sitting in the garage just like urs exept its a convertible. He had that car in high school, and thats what he drove to his wedding. Im really confused why hes sell ing it for $12k....
Had to do that at the Portreath Drag meet, part of their regulations, suppose it's meant to keep all the glass in one place if the lights get smashed.
I had no idea that you were in England until I saw the mention of "crisps" and realized that this was not just another American mustang enthusiast. I am happy to see that people in other countries can appreciate and enjoy these American muscle cars. I have owned a 72 , a 73, and currenly drive a 2003 Mach1. BTW my Mom is British so I know about the crisps and those breakfast sausages...just brilliant!
How much horsepower did the Mach lose in 73 due to the pollution controll systems made mandatory by the Govt.? The death of the muscle car, what a shame...They de-nutted them, leaving only a hollow body to show...sad...
@Doobie1975 I agree the 71 - 73 Mustangs are underrated. Many people complain about the size of the car but they really aren't that much bigger than the 69-70 models. The 71 - 73 has nice clean lines though. Very sharp looking especially the Mach1.
Not all the Mach1s came equipped with the Ram Air system, out of the 46,260 Sportsroofs constructed in the 73 model year only 309 had functional Ram Air fitted, oddly enough every one was 2V.
Mine is most definitely a Mach1 having the body code in the VIN as 05, I also have the original factory invoice, mine unfortunately was not one of the 309.
Yeah I know, the 71-72 hockey sticks were applied before I bought the car, plus they are painted on, so I thought I'd best keep them. I have got a set of 73 stropes ready for the day I get around to repainting it.
GORGEOUS car my friend. My first car was a 73 mach 1 - yellow and black. My Dad and I restored it ground up back in 1989. I so very much miss that ride, thanks for the memories :)
I had a 71 gold/black MACH1... no big deal about you putting the 71-72 stripes on yours BECAUSE: my 71 got hit in the front, and the only grille I could find was a 73 grille.., SO I had to kinda do the same thing except mine was just a 71 with a 73 front, and yours is a 73 with the 71 stripes --I had to go find the photo album to look at her one more time after this video -.great memories.
Yeah I know, infact in this instance they're not tape stripes but painted on, got a set of 73 Mach1 stripes waiting for the day I have car re-painted.Plenty more non-matching numbers or year stuff on this car ;)
Interesting enough the Gone In 60 Seconds "Eleanor" (the original, not that Cage sh1te) was a 71 dressed up as 73.
beautiful car.. i would love to just sit at a park in it and chill.

is it ram air or not
guitarpro48 1 year ago
@guitarpro48 No, it wasn't a ram air from the factory, I opened the scoops up though, figured that any cold air getting in there is a good thing.
Might be right, might be wrong, but it seems to work fine.

Aww the 1973, the final year before the Mustang's went to shit, I personally think the 1971-73 Mustang's are IMO very underappreciated
