When artists with REAL talent come together and showcase their gifts like this, it shows even more that the crap coming out now that masquerades as pop music will not stand the test of time. My 18 and 16 year old kids often apologize to me for the music their generation is vomiting upon the earth.

But another point. Peter Gabriel should have done blue-eyed soul his entire career. What a perfect voice for it.

One thing I like about this song is that it doesn't rhyme, but that aspect doesn't take away from it. In fact, if the lyrics did rhyme, it wouldn't really make a difference. I think writers often sacrifice too much to make the lyrics rhyme.
