@darkaus32 We don't believe in idols in the Orthodox Church, we believe in God. We don't worship Holy Objects, we use them for glorifying God and to give us an understanding of eternity. Icons are holy objects which remind us of God; fill us with a sense of reverence and piety, and they show us paintings of Prophets, Saints and Miracles - which were are done by the Grace of God.

In the Old Testament, Moses made the Ark Of The Covenant, etc.. isn't that an idol??... You see what I mean by this.

I was raised as a orthodox but i read the true holy bible and i found the truth in Jesus Christ, god's son (the father son holy spirit are one 1 John 5:7, John 14:11, ) he washes my sins away i baptized wrongly i couldn't accept jesus when i was a baby.

@darkaus32 The Orthodox Church and its Sacred objects is JUST LIKE the Ark of the Covenant. Because they are glorifying Jesus and God. What about the Bronze Serpent of Moses, wasn't that an Idol? Its the same with Orthodox Sacred Objects - they're there 2 bring us to God.

@mishakol129 I actually experience jesus in my life, I feel a strong presence when i pray to Jesus on my knees putting my hands up and asking for jesus christ blood of the cross to wash my sins away and to flow on my and to protect me from the devil, i feel the holy ghost touching my hands and many times i felt it touching my head and coming into my mouth.

If you don't believe me pray now to jesus and tell him to reveal you the truth, talk to him like a person.

Jesus is the head of any church who follows his commandments, there is no salvation in any religion but in jesus christ, says it in the bible.

Making idols of jesus and angels and mary is not a commandment but a tradition of men, it's not sacred.

@darkaus32 You were a Romanian Orthodox but you fell away from the Church? - then you must have been too young to understand what it was, or your parents weren't strong believers themselves so never taught you.... The Orthodox Church is the only way that a person can dynamically be in communion with God the Father through the Holy Spirit and in Jesus Christ... You will not experience the Holy Spirit's Grace and power if you do not go to the Orthodox Church and receive Holy Communion.

@mishakol129 and i heard a song singing by the power of the holy ghost, i also experienced bad dreams of demons laughing at me and whilst i woke up i still heard it and faded away.

My mum had a dream that i was being raptured by god, she saw my fly away to heaven (the bible says god will take away his church from the world) and 7 years tribulation will come upon the earth.

my dad is christian and my mother is slowly becoming a christian and my sister aswell.

@darkaus32 That's a pretty interesting story (the one about the miracles), but you must understand that in the Orthodox Church, there have been MANY stories from the writings of the Saints about how the Devil deceived them and how they accepted the Angel of Light who was trying to fool them... And also, we do NOT worship Mary in the Orthodox Church we only *Venerate* her, just as we do to all the Saints. Worship belongs to the Holy Trinity alone (Father Son and Holy Spirit).

You do not know jesus christ for if you knew him you would obey his teachings and not teachings of men and their traditions, religion does not save people, only jesus christ will save you. the second commandment forbids having idols and images of idols yet you blatantly ignore this and most of the teachings of the bible and abibe the teachings of men.

@macpduff Its never to late to enter Eastern Orthodoxy, if you want the fullness of the truth. The Orthodox Church church will help you to become more spiritually mature in Christ because it is the mystical Body of Christ. We don't rationalize the faith and try to explain the Holy Mysteries of God like the RCC. We believe in the science of our Orthodox Neptic Fathers who taught the science of the human soul. The word Neptic has to do with the word "Nous" which is the faculty that perceives God.

@macpduff That book that you see "Orthodox Psychotherapy" was written by a Greek Metropolitan who discovered that the writings of the Philokalia Fathers (Neptic Fathers) were remedies for all the ailments of the soul. Not only that the soul could be healed through these remedies, but also that mental illnesses and psychological ills could be healed as well.

Ultimately, the end of Orthodox therapy and sign of souls health, is the souls complete union with God and theosis. This is VERY difficult.
