I think he's reliving stuff through hypnotism. While it does not seem sci-fi, real hypnotism is much different than what we think of when we think of hypnotism. It's kinda farfetched. read some psychology books and you'll see what I mean.
There was nothing that marked this short as Sci-fi at all. Are you supposed to be traveling through time, or are you trying to rip off Inception? Either way you failed.
@onbrutaledge -- I've heard a few "comparisons" (if you can call them that) to Inception, but I don't see a connection at all. Care you elaborate on any similarities?
@tripleventi23 I asked you a question, and you answered with a question. It seemed to me that you were trying to rip off Inception, but you did a terrible job at it.
If you had some type of MacGuffin, i.e. the machine they hook up to in Inception, that showed how they were jumping through time it could have been marked as Sci-fi. You don't even need to explain what it is or how it works you just need to show it. Once again refer back to how Inception used the dream machine.
@onbrutaledge Oh, wah. You're just whiny you didn't win. I think this movie has somewhat similar feel to "Inception," and even the "Bourne Trilogy" and "24." But it didn't take anything from them, so its not a "rip-off." To me, "The Departed" has similarities to "Reservoir Dogs," but BOTH are great movies and deserve full credit. True, the sci-fi is a little confusing, but that was ONE weakness.
@Gomerwerle I could care less that I didn't win. I feel that this movie shouldn't be representing Indianapolis on a national level. The people at the national level are going to feel sorry for out city, and that isn't right. As for your other comments you obviously have not idea what you are talking about and I feel sorry for you.
I have to agree that visually your film does stand out. However, I was not able to attend the screening for this film Saturday evening. None the less, really good work guys. For making a film within 48 hours, good stuff. Oh by the way, I worked with Scion013, we both did the "Backburner" film. One more thing to add, great camera work. I am personally a big fan of hand held shots. Once again, nicely done.
I saw this at the 48HFP last night. Congratulations on winning. I also wanted to compliment you guys last night on your visual style because I think that's what really stands out in this film.
You both sound f-ing stupid
