For when just watching this video I can feel the rage & adrenaline rushes that were no doubt motivating & impelling those old-school warriors!!! Also, the graphics of that above video were quite vivid, clear, keen & realistic to this great degree, as, like I wrote before, they captured & depicted the full ferocity & very brutal nature of this quintessential Swiss-Landsknect pike engagement, where each side sought to wipe the other out! Though the Swiss were generally better, tougher & fiercer!

Awesome! For that above video superbly depicts, reveals & demonstrates the full ferocity, savagery, brutality, violence, battle fury, blood lust, viciousness, animosity & battlefield actions of this furious, blood-drenched, pike jabbing, sword slashing, typical late 15th century Swiss-Landsknect maelstrom where each side came crashing together! For both the Swiss & Landsknect pikemen were the finest, best trained & most redoubtable conventional infantry in the World back between 1475-1525!

Not bad. You can't run pikemen into action, however. They need to be formed up in ranks to be effective.

Still, might buy the game and download the mod if available.

No they didn't run into battle, "actually". They MARCHED, which is why they had drums, to keep in step.

Machiavelli called the Swiss pikemen "The New Romans" because they went into battle organised, and not as a charging mob. The German landsknects copied the Swiss.

Go look at some engravings of the period and you will see. Better yet, try running about with a 5 metre/18 foot spear, point levelled at chest height, and see how far you get before the point buries itself in the ground.
