Clearly, these classes that are being used as examples aren't simply about "watching tv" or "whoopi goldberg," it's about critically viewing and analyzing popular culture. In our culture, the media has come to replace books in a lot of ways and it makes sense to see these as valid ways to read who we have become culturally. AND BY THE WAY, lesbian writers after WW2 play an important role in lesbian culture/sexual history...perhaps, it seems frivolous to you but you're an idiot...so...

I think its irresponsible to state course titles without fairly representing the curriculum. Often times courses with have catchy names or tongue in cheek titles but really the curriculum is quite significant.
