  • Time Warp.... the power of The Black Crowes makes a song come to the future. Balls to try it and to the victor goes the spoils. Just wonderful :)

  • Steve Gorman is a monster drummer...KICK ASS...

  • Check my profile for Led Zeppelin Inspired Music!

  • To adequately cover Robert Plant's greatness justifies Chris Robinson on why he could bang Kate Hudson.

  • can some one please tell me why kids under the age of 19 cant listen to music like this more often..Kids my age wouldn't be so stupid if they were exposed to greatness like this.

  • Love him - hate him...I think Chris Robinson was perfect for this. The drummer simply kicks ass....the Crowes did their homework for this tour.

  • that guy is what made me pick up the guitar !!!

  • no wonder they called 'em the crowes, look at Chris Robinsons BEAK!!!

sings it better than Robert Plant though!

  • jimmy page looks like a phillipine

  • Ya'll are being cheated here. This version sounds like it was recorded by a really bad garage band. Please, check out the You Tube video of Zeppelin playing Sick Again live at Knebworth.

    You owe it to yourselves.

  • @LedLass Led who?

  • Props to Chris Robinson for not trying to imitate Robert Plant, which is what most people try to do when covering Zeppelin. Robinson's a damn good vocalist, so he doesn't need to try to sound like anyone but himself.

  • great number

  • Jimmy Page and Chris Robinson doing one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs together is like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one. Thanks for posting this!

  • I'm in love the the sloppiness and raw power Page emits in his solos. His performances with the Black Crowes are exceptionally better than a lot of the Page & Plant shows I've seen. Not better than all of them, but this is an amazingly fantastic show.

  • groovin

  • it's called feel! you don't listen to a god play guitar you feel it. when I feel jimmy page play a lead suddenly I feel blessed.

  • one of the VERY few bands out there that could have pulled this off. "hey guys, we're going to play a bunch of zeppelin covers WITH JIMMY PAGE!" "cool." drummer steve gorman is a maniac

  • Man, the groove on this is fantastic...

  • Chris is one of the few vocalists I have heard able to get close to the rhythm of Plant's voice..this is one of my favorite albums

  • Never was sure if 'Page' or Robinson' couls still pull it off, but works pretty damn great!!! Thanks 4 sharing this lil slice of history.

  • If I would not know I would at 1st thought this was 'Whitesnake'. Great post! Thanks 4 sharing. Go Pagey...Yea.

  • Page sounds extremely good here and the band is doing fine

  • Who is using the Orange thing? (sorry i don´t know how they are called in english)

  • Mr. Jimmy Page, it's a classic amp that Page used.

  • I believe Page is using the Orange 'AMPS'. Some of the best made amplifiers on the market.

  • @HousesOfTheHolyV these are tube amplifier heads. I guess it's Page's amp we're seing there.

  • this solo is just crazy man.wow.thanx for this one.

  • Lucky enough to see this tour! SWEEEET

  • Agreed on Oasis, Rubher, though I wish them no harm. But man, they do suck and are weirdly over-rated. Very down trodden depressing uninspiring crap rock. Led Zep and The Crowes as well as all the true greats (Stones, Who...etc.) all celebrate life, even the hard times. They make you feel better, not worse. Rock to me is a lot about defiance and triumph and celebration of life's peaks valleys and plateaus.

  • wow that's very deep!what have you been smoking? :)

  • @108vasudeva amen to this!

  • Chris Robinson is the ONLY singer of his generation to really GET it. And he fucking rocks with the very best of them: Tyler, Jagger, Stewart, even Plant (though his voice will never have the beauty and majesty of Plant's). But why criticize? He's awesome! And he resurrected Led Zeppelin music for a truly spectacular tour back in 99-00. Does anyone dare question THE MASTER, JIMMY PAGE HIMSELF??

  • "though his voice will never have the beauty and majesty of Plant's). "

I gotta agree with you on that. He's an amazing talent. His singing has a kind of beauty and grace on top of its soulful power that practically no other singer has.

  • Certainly not I.

  • those comparing this to zeppelin, bear in mind chris robinson is not robert plant, and vice versa. they put their own mood into it because they're different people, and personally, I think it rocks.

I'd put the crowes up against zeppelin anytime of the day.

  • I like this version, I like both bands, but Zeppelin is by FAR the better band. (and I think the crowes would agree) Do you know if thie Video is Available on DVD.

  • @spiralmetal Eeeee. I wouldn't go that far. The Crowes got a lotta heart, but they're really not that great at the end of the day, Most of their music is too derivitave of The Faces,Stones, Zeppelin. And the rest that you could say is their own sound tries too hard. BUT-This tour with Page doing Zep songs WAS shit hot, I must say. And to be fair, Page has been lost without Zeppelin, so this was the best outlet he could have hoped for.

  • Thats your opinion, but I disagree. They r original, and I cant believe u r implying that a band that makes such incredible songs like 'Sometimes Salvation, Remedy, etc is "not that great". I judge a band by how good their music is, not by how much they are influenced by other bands. And one could argue Faces, Stones, and Zeppelin are too derivative of the blues bands before them. Do u see how ridiculous this kind of thinking gets? There r other reasons 2 argue against your opinion as well

  • @spiralmetal Ok. Fair enough. But I think Chris Robinson is trying too hard to be Steve Marriott. And sometimes he gets a little annoying. . Zeppelin definately stole shamelessly ,I'll admit, but they had enough originality to squeak by. The Crowe's just don't strike me as anything on the level of their influences when left to their own device. I don't think they suck either,so there you have it.

  • I enjoy Black Crowes and other bands more than Humble Pie, so I dont care if they are a "derivative" of them as well. Not so into Humble Pie. I do love The Faces.

"he gets a little annoying." Dont know your reason for that, but as a singer Chris could blow practically anyone nowadays into the water.

"Zeppelin definately stole" Do yourself a favor and judge a band for how much u 'enjoy their music' and nothing else because everybody is influenced by something. Inspiration isnt a crime.

  • @spiralmetal No, but stealing is,ha ha. And I mean Zeppelin, btw. Robinson being better than anyone nowadays isn't too hard, cuz they all lipsynch or just plain suck. I don't get it. How can Chris Robinsonson sound so good, but Steve Marriott doesn't do it for you? He's obviously the guy's main inspiration.

  • "Steve Marriott doesn't do it for you?"

If you think that much of Humble Pie, I'll give them another listen. Recommend an album.

"He's obviously the guy's main inspiration."

    Forgive me.

  • @spiralmetal OK.. Start with Rockin' the Fillmore. Then get Smokin'. Check out Thunderbox (great cover by the way.) I think you'll see where CR is getting it from. It's like this: Mick Jagger is inimatible in the singing department, but as a dancer, well, let's just say James Brown never had to worry about losing any sleep. Even Jagger knows that too. He should just stand still in light of that fact.

  • " let's just say James Brown never had to worry about losing any sleep."

    Hahaha.

So Mick Jagger's your man of choice as a bluesy rock n roll singer.

  • @spiralmetal he's one of them. in the white guy department anyway. What makes him incredible is how he makes bad singing sound better than great singing. Quite a mean feat. We all know the guy from Journey can sing. But who cares? He's a pussy. And Sammy Hagar? I'll stick with Roth. Rock music cuts against the grain, not with it.

  • "What makes him incredible is how he makes bad singing sound better than great singing."

OH MY GOD, THATS HOW I FEEL, TOO. He's doesn't seem to sing with any particular skill, but somehow it works. A more powerful singer than Jagger could sing Tumbling Dice with all the skill in the world and it will never sound as good as his I feel. How he does it is a mystery to me. There's something about his voice. I guess he just has it.

BTW, Why does Chris Robinson annoy you?

  • @spiralmetal I'm not sure why he annoys me. I just don't think he's all that. But I do think the Crowes have some good material. My friends have all their stuff so I've heard all of it. So I'm not judging them by a few hits I know. You wanna talk about a band I loathe? Try Oasis. Now they are totally 12th rate. And that's on a scale from 1-5. I wish the plague on them. The BC's are OK. But Oasis makes me wanna puke in my soup!

  • Man, u sure drive a hard bargain, but at least u know what u like. I dont have a problem with Oasis, Journey, or Sammy Hagar, although I really get a kick out of Roth because hes so nuts. I guess its like the old saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It might sound cliché to say that, but I think it rings true. Regarding Chris, he is a tremendous singer in my book.

  • Speaking of 12th rate.....dont you think NICKELBACK has taken that title from Oasis at this point? They are the bane of "rock" at this point, in my book.......music industry is so full of shit nowdays,of course it goes without saying. They were saying it 40 yrs. ago too, but they didnt realize what was happening , now look at it.......its definitely hit bottom...

  • YES, I do think Pickleslap is 12th rate! Oasis just broke up (YAY!) so we can hand theeir truly mediocre crown to them. And don't forget Creed too! And it won't take 40 years for everyone to realize that it's still shit. Look at all that ridiculous 80's music that comes back sounding worse than it did then, if that's possible. Makes me "Sick Again." LOL!

  • You're right, I was one of those seeing Rock come to an end, Nickelback is the best that the Rock world has to offer?! lol, what a joke the music scene is today..no feel. Thank goodness for the Black Crowes..staying true to rock..feel, soul.

  • This kicks ass

  • A testa do Page é do tamanho do mundo!

    Sonzeeeera!

  • sounds great. the singer makes a good plant imo

  • i know dude i agree. he ets into those zeppelin songs and gives it a robertplant vibe to it

  • nah man this shit is one of the best live performances and best covers of any band i've ever heard. and of course he cant be plant but his style really compliments zep's sttyle of play.....

  • leave it to who??? not even Plant himself can sing these songs anymore, better listen to all the bootlegs you can get your hands on (like me) `cos theres never gonna be a band as good as LedZeppelin again ! great video ,83169 ,thanx alot

  • yea the fooFighters DaveGrohl sings Zeppelin waaay better eh?? you diss the BlackCrowes for crappy vocals but you upload DaveGrohl (screeching like a dyin` cat) singing Zeppelin ??!! your a nit-wit,,

  • umm not really.... this shit goes hard as fuck

  • Actually you couldn't say less--yours is an intriguing yet particularly uninformed comment--Mr. Robinson may be lacking something, but vocal prowess is not it. I have verified this myself over 30 times. Had to make sure you know. He is as soulful and talented as they come.

  • oh man i cant hear some parts of the guitar

  • the only band that can pull off playing zep and sound good doing it.

  • Chris ain't trying to be Plant......

As for a sluggish rhythm section? Ha.

  • Comment removed

  • Not good, A sluggish rhythm section, a wasted Pagey, and Chris Robinson, while good within his own milieu, ain't Robert Plant.

  • canta casi igual a Robert Plant, casi, casi, casi ....

podra imitarlo pero jamas igualarlo xD xD

  • WOW

  • I love that song

  • I'll always regret missin that tour! Was tryin to get tickets down in Tampa and Jimmy hurt his back. ..man

  • Yeah me too. Had tickets to the Atlanta show and jimmy couldn't play. sucks was my only time to get to see jimmy page.

  • so awesome great combo

  • Jimmy Page is GOD.

  • He is Awesome, that is for sure. Be careful what you say or the zealots will come out in force and try to preach to us while we are enjoying some music.

  • vocals like rod in the faces, moves like plant

  • Page is one of the only people who could play a solo that damn sloppy and still give me chills.

    Man's a legend.

  • @tomh124 funny that you would say that! I love the unlikely end of the solo. If you compare this to the 1977 videos of Sick Again there aren't any dead notes in this version.

  • @tomh124 its pretty funnny when u can be sloppy as hell and still be better than as good as it gets

  • Led Crowes

  • 2:13 Incredible! Takes an unusual mind to end the solo where he does.

  • I can't say that if I was on stage with Jimmy Page himself that I wouldn't try... even if I sucked.

  • you are clueless Pirate! Jimmy chose them of all the musicians in the world

  • i saw this tour when they came to mass in 99...1 of the best show's i've ever seen..page is one of my fav guitarist's i love his sloppy blue's style does'nt have to be perfect technicly it sound's great his nack for righting killer riff's is almost unmatched there's only one jimmy page..and the crow's are the best at what they do str8 up blue's/rock page an crow's go together like the great forest gump said PEE'S AN CARROT'S

  • if this is a lounge act at the holiday inn, then book me a room at the holiday inn. cause id love to see these guys. I of coarse always liked zeppelin and I like the crowes too. when page and the crowes got together. i thought it would be good. i didnt know it would be great. I wish i had bought tickets too see them. i was busy at time. had i known they would be this good. i would have made time

  • Had the pleasure of catching this tour at Jones Beach. As a Zep Fan I was blown away. I have always felt that J.Pages playing peaked during the 73/S.R.T.S. tour. The C.R./Crows were great, and Page wasn't overwhelmed with playing everything himself.

  • fuck page is good.

Open the next olympics with ZEP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My two cents: I'm not really a Zep fan (I know...shoot me), but I am a huge Crowes fan and have been since seeing them in 1990. One thing is for damn sure... all of the tunes I've heard from this "marriage" have been great! Page could not have chosen a better band to do these songs justice. A "lounge band at the Holiday Inn"? Seriously... Funny comment (chuckle), but give me a break man. Do your homework! If anything, this stuff has made me listen to Zep more. It's great!

  • For the record... I'm a fan of MUSICIANS playing... page or crows... GREAT. "Sick Again" is a song I'm super happy was selected for performance b/c it's a Zep song that needs more exposure imho thanx

  • Page's solo sounds like he hasn't changed his strings (or washed his fingers) since '75. And of course, I love it.

  • Mean while the Van Hagar army grows. And we just keep dying off...........To think the grand kids will say things like...boy they just don't make bands like STYX anymore. Damm somebody make an A chord

  • this is better than some performances than Led Zeppelin early in the 75 tour

  • ...and probably each and every show in 77! At least the trajectory was upward since then

  • Page looked great, he played and looked even better at the Zep reunion show! If Plant cant make is mind up Jimmy should call these guys again.

  • This is like Jimmy playing with the lounge band at the Holiday Inn.

  • Wow dude you're pretty cool, came up with one retarded comment and post it on every Crowes/Page video.

  • This is like watching Micheal Jordan play with a high school basketball team.

  • Why don't you check out the '75 tour version of sick again on you-tube and see how it stacks up against this? You'll be surprised. Since Bonham is dead and Plant is unavailbile for touring your comment is ludicrous.

  • Hey shit head, Led Zeppelin in the original form is never coming back. The Black Crowes are one of the last true "Rock" bands that play with feeling or taste. Not the speed metal crap.

If you hate this so much why don't you just put on Zeppelin2 and forget this.

  • im a led head all the way

  • A tour would be very nice ...worth chasing ;

  • Jimmy looks happier here then he did with Robert or Paul Rodgers in the past 20 years.I think these guys ought to do a world tour,it might be interesting.

  • It's funny how there are so many rug experts watching you tube. every time i watch a vid of say zeppelin or old arosmith. people comment."oh its not that tight must be the heoin"How the hell do you people no. most are just mimicking what they have heard on vh 1behind the music.

  • I'll answer. Having seen Zep(MSG, NYC 6/11/77) and Page& Plant(95,98 which was much better)and this tour (Roseland ballroom nyc 99 and Jones Beach 2000), I don't need vh1 to tell me anything. The fact that the 77 tour was ommitted from the recent dvd speaks for itself. Why don't you check out the 75 tour rendition of sick again on you tube and decide for yourself which one is a better page?

  • Yeah, it's like watching Steve Tyler reel around during the 1977 live version of 'Dream On'...By the way, why do you think Pagey titled the song 'Sick Again' in the 1st place??

  • Sick Again,is Plant's mock-tribute to the groupies(with whom LZ was notoriously weird "how fast you learn the downhill slide")so I would think not.On the other hand their titles often have nothing to do w/ the lyrics (D'yer Maker, Trampled Underfoot etc.) so who knows?

  • your right,i have the bootlegs dvd's,this is tighter than the 75-79 Zep,especially this tune

  • hey what happened to jimmy? didnt like his solo at all.

  • heroin

  • i guess he was on it when he played stairway to heaven in the song remains the same vid 2 but he played like a god then.

  • You guys really don't like the solo? Its almost note-for-note with the studio version and his technique is dead on. Follow the rhythm its an improbable concoction that drops off right into the vocal line like stairway or the ocean. You're entitled to your opinion. I had the exact opposite response.

  • jimmy is the best you can say what ever you want but hi is the best

  • this is a fuckin class song! cheers for posting!

  • I thought the same thing as Danelectroman: this drummer's got his shit together. I'm sure there's a big emotional attachment to Bonzo's kid, but looking at the O2 show videos, he's obviously out of his league. Competent, but not authoritative. His dad could carry the band at will, and that's why they were so fucking good. Brute force and rhythmic genius. Scarce combination.

  • when was this?

  • Either 99 or 00

  • i dont think that zeppelin did that show just because the tickets sold...none of them need money and they would sell out if they were 90

I Hope and pray they come to america if they do im there any state anywhere Im going

  • maybe Zeppelin should use the drummer in this band for their reunion tour. Bonham's kid just doesn't have it like his dad. Actually i don't think any great rock act should be out there on stage past the age of 50, but as long as tickets sell, what do i know?

  • No, Jason is the better, I should know because I.....

  • I think I may like Gorman better

  • Spoken like a true IDIOT!

  • this is really cool how they played rare shit. love it--good stuff!!

  • Yes! Yes! I love this! Not only does this bring me back to the days when I was really, really into Zeppelin, Chris has got to be feeln' it! Don't you think? Yes! Jimmy is god! Don't ever confuse that with any other ex-Yardbirds guitarist, even though they very great, too.

  • Chris Robinson, ugly ass ROCK GOD. The boy is GREAT

  • At least he can still sing unlike Robert.

  • He's a vverrrry good singer. I don't know who gave you a thumbs down. The guy who sings in Black Crowes is amazing. He's got that....tone

  • He probably got a thumbs down for the "unlike Robert" part.

  • chris can hammer it down for sure!

  • Great. Jimmy is on during this tour and the Crowes hit it just right.

    Thanks for the post

  • jimmy page is the SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These two groups rock together...thanks for posting. I love `em!

    LJH

  • Oh man, what a great performance.

  • this album rocks; the crowes are saving rock & roll. definitely check the crowes out if you get a chance.

  • i have to admit i enjoy chris singing the tunes. obviously he's not r.plant but he does a good job and also black crowes are cool, good job

  • One of the reasons I like Chris singing these songs is because he doesn't try to be Plant.

  • yeah true chris is being chris and doing his own vocal thing

  • Somehow I just knew that song would be "perfect" for Chris to sing! :)

  • sick , (chuckles) pal

    watch?v=nbw4Eo9moRs

  • well the look is ok, the tonal quality is fine, but the nuances of timing are a little way off.

  • Too bad Jimmy hurt his back and they had to cut this tour short.

  • no wonder they cancelled the reunion concert. they decided to listen to my advice and do it here... witha real drummer. and absinthe at the royal orleans. naw, leave it.

  • Is there a DVD of this concert?

  • and yet he stills plays guitar like a God, how amazing is that?

  • His song, he can be play it anyway he wants to me.

  • just take a look a the roling stone magazine web site and serach for "The 100 greatest guitarist of all time"........ jimmy page is 9th

  • he deserves better! zeppelin deserves better than rolling stone....because rolling stone sucks these days anyways....you can't turn a single page without them kissing some new emo band's ass

  • jimmy is amazing but hes wayyyyyyyyyyyy better with led zeppelin cant wait till the led zeppelin reunion tour!

  • Hello: I hope that the viewers and commenters can make peace. These videos of the Black Crowes are about them. Please appreciate them and have respect for their incredible gift of music. LOL Debra

  • Go Jimmy!

  • i think they gel 2gether............special

  • This is Fucking Great ! I remember hearing the first radio broadcast in my area of this years ago. I was blown away but never followed up with it. I need to get this.

  • Whiib spelled offense wrong.

  • Awesome. It´s amazing how Page fits into the band, it seems so natural. Led Zeppelin must have been a huge influence to the Crowes. Live at the Greek is a great recording, I wish there would be a studio album by this line-up. Btw. Jimmy has gained some fat but he looks healthier than 30 years ago. ;)

  • I had tickets to the see the Atlanta show on this tour back in '00. It was canceled because of back surgery for Page. I don't have a problem with Page playing Zep songs with The Black Crowes, a great band in their own right. Chris Robinson needs to do a better job of learning the lyrics.

  • jimmy page is a legend but hes fuckin ugly(no afence)

  • "no afence"? Learn how to spell before posting here and making yourself look like a royal douchbag in front of the whole world.

  • im not even a nativ speaker fuck face

  • You sure know spell curse words! Why don't you simply post in your own language, ass muncher?

  • look im sorry if iv pissed you of as we say in my language odi u pičku materinu konju jedan!

  • That's much better! ;-)

  • Ha, don't worry mate. These idiots can barely talk properly in their own language. I'd like to see them try Croatian instead ! See above comment for example.

  • yo you know croatian?for once someone smarter! say you didint tell him what that meant did ya?

  • Public school education at its finest..lol...nomesayn, yo?

  • Excellent band, all having good fun! Jimmy's playing shines with a melodious solo carrying a fine warm tone. :-)

    Long time Zep fan.

  • Classic.

  • Can't recapture a magical group with just one member playing his savant, passionless version of the solo....he must have had some child support payments.

  • very very fucking nice, chris is kind of a dick, but he really does sound good on this!

  • Just excellent!!! WOW!

  • wow dis robert plant dye his hair here? heh

  • I'd be the last to criticize Jimmy, but the solo here is flat. You wanna see some amazing shit, look at the Whole Lotta love solo from the Song Remains the Same, especially the Boogie part.

  • what year is this?

  • 1999 probably from the greek in la. that's what they made the live cd from. they also toured briefly in 2000 but i recognize the clothes they're wearing. i was there.

  • even though he isnt half as good as he was in the Royal Albert Hall footage, this still cooked a bit

  • wha?
