Games are more popular as the amount of time, and less skill it takes to beat a single opponent decreases. Sure everyone knows how to play chess, but no one does. Civilization and Star/Warcraft strategies aren't nearly as popular due to the fact that it takes forever to win. They are now making a new game (not Halo) and that is presumably going to be multiplatform. Bungie handled the Halo franchise over to 343 Industries. 343 Industries, are making the CE remake and they have stated that they are starting a new trilogy with Master Chief which means Halo 4, Halo 5 and a halo 6.
