My fav movie. So sad, yet uplifting. I would've been just like Cher (well not the drugs etc) with him, people getting away with treating him like a freak, or not allowing him to attend school at first, etc. He was SO loved.
God put Rocky on this earth to teach us about compassion and understanding. He was an amazing person inside and out. Now he's probably someone's guardian angel. I'd like to think he is to his real life gf, if she is still living.

@thelamb777 This guy WAS real, but the actor who played him in the movie, Eric Stoltz, is just a normal guy with a lot of makeup. You can search for his photos and you will see. ;))

@MeBenHalpin What he went through? Fuck, he had a better life than most of us will ever have. He had alot of friends and a girl he loved. He had a great personality and will be known by everyone for the rest of time. I will never live up to what he lived up to in just 16 years. His only problem was his face. I make fun of him cause he is better than me. I don't pity him cause I feel like I'm better than him. Think about that.

@MxOxRxRxIxS I don't think he was as happy as you think he was. Of course, he had some friends, but there surely were more people who hated him and made fun of him because of his face. He was almost blind. If it's about the girl, she was only his friend in real life. And the doctors were telling him that he would die soon for 16 years. Do you believe he knew that he would be famous all over the world in twenty years and it made him feel better? I don't think so.

@MxOxRxRxIxS how about you go get a faceful of the makeup and prosthetics they put on Eric Stoltz and go live the life of Rocky for a month. I'll bet you'll change your opinion. Life is extremely difficult for people with the condition that Rocky had. I have something called Lymphodema and if not managed correctly, I ended up with feet and legs that look like The Elephant Man. And let me tell you, people can be VERY cruel when they don't understand what is in front of them

My fav movie. So sad, yet uplifting. I would've been just like Cher (well not the drugs etc) with him, people getting away with treating him like a freak, or not allowing him to attend school at first, etc. He was SO loved.

God put Rocky on this earth to teach us about compassion and understanding. He was an amazing person inside and out. Now he's probably someone's guardian angel. I'd like to think he is to his real life gf, if she is still living.

I watched this movie when i was a kid and I learned one of the most important lessons in my life. I have my kids now and they've watched the movie with me and also learned from it! One of the best films I have ever watched! It showed me and my kids that the power of love is stronger than anything!

This film was one of the top 10 films that touched me on a deep emotional level. A reallty fantastic important work of art. I also love The Elephant Man. Some times the most disfigured people are the deepest and sweetest. Angels in our midst.

I would totally love to date a guy like Rocky because I love his personality. It seems like people who are born with a different appearance have a more better personality. You should always concentrate on the personality, not the looks. I mean look at the guys today! They are such idiots, we want guys to be sweet just like Rocky, if only he lived longer.
