Front to back, top to bottom. Some really powerful stuff. Kudos to the creators, writers, and the actors of the Wire.

Out of all the scenes in The Wire, this is the hardest one for me to watch.

We are literally watching a person begin hitting their bottom here. It's sad, but at the same time without this happening to Sherrod; Bubbles doesn't begin the road to becoming sober. A life had to be lost to save another...sad...

Bubbles was the heart of this show in season 1 when he tried to quit i was really hoping he would but in the end of the 1st season he couldnt really got me sad but in this season where he killed a friend who was like his own son really made me upset he tried so hard to stop the guy from beating on him but couldnt he turned to spiking the drugs shows how hard his life really was he was the heart of this amazing show

When the camera focused solely on Bubbles while he was waking up, I knew that two horrible things already happened: either Sherrod bounced and left or he grabbed the bad vials and overdose. It was still sad when the latter occured. The Wire is such an amazing show.

He portrayed Bubbles character with such heartbreaking emotion in season 4 (also a standout in season 5) that he deserved an Emmy for his work (It's a shame that The Soprano's, and Entourage got more exposure than The Wire did). This scene

was such cruel irony as Bubbles was just trying to get revenge on a bullying dope fiend and inadvertently killed his friend in the process.

Sherrod got accused for shorting the same dealer (which could have happened because Sherrod continually skipped class and had trouble shortchanging customers with his lack of math skills) and went back to Bubbles who promised to help him with his debt if he was back to stay.

Sherrod isnt Bubbles son, Sherrod is Bubbles nephew - and hes 16 almost 17 - he has only used several times (as he is more into being a corner boy, whom Bubbles took in and wished would go back to school) As far as the vials, those were (obviously) either 20s or dimes of what looks to be coke - that he cut with sodium cyanide (he talked about formaldehyde with the niggas in the previous scene but went with the cyanide after finding out where to purchase it.
